Hi everyone,
I am sure you are all familiar with our Buddy Program. From here on it will not only bring new players to EVE but may benefit you directly. If your buddy becomes an EVE Online subscriber your name will be added to a pool of potential winners. Every month some lucky EVE player will receive great in game prizes. The more subscribers you provide, the greater chance you have of winning the amazing prices.
The first prizes will be given out on the 15th of December so start contacting your friends, family and coworkers!

Can i retrospectively get all my other accounts signed up via the buddy program please ?
Can't you just give away some eve store items ? Or does the one costing you rl cash and the other not pse that much of an issue that you need to start giving away prizes of this magnitute ingame ?

Hey, CCP wants to make more money with this and if people want to pay a month's subscription for a *chance* for this prize, just let 'em I say. You certainly won't see me doing though, that's for sure

ItÆs not going hurt the game. 12 pricesÆ a year out of over 70,000playres
I think this a great idea as long as the priceÆs giving out are limited.

long as the prize isn't some uber p4wn the world battleship then I'm ok with it... More people playing = better for eve.

perhaps a nice initiative however I think that the reward given the effort involved is unduly high (several billion). Considering you can buddy yourself and sign up another account for eg. I can imagine that perhaps 100 or so buddy accounts become full accounts maybe? Thats great odds to win a fully kitted faction bs. Make the prizes smaller imo, oh and do another two for the price of one deal (power of two) again for current subscribers.

This is a joke right?!
Right?!
How about offering a 3 month period of no fee on someones subscription or something? THis is rediculous. --------

I would have preferred a discount on my subscription for getting people to sign up. I know that at least a dozen people have used by buddy code and stuck with the game. But I guess that might be exploitable :/

sounds like the research lottery to me, anyone one quick question do they have to pay a subs or will a 2 week trial suffice

Could you add feature to buddy program that let you see how many of these who you have refered have stayed? I have been doing small campaing for new eve players once in awhile, but I dont keep contact with them, but would like to know if I am just wasting my time.

It does seem a bit much to be honest. How about a portrait change free of charge, or a special title on the forums? Something not directly linked to the game.

I posted a previous GoonFleet thread where I listed 55+ accounts that a GF drive had helped scare up at the end of September. Is it possible to credit us with those? We're doing another drive in a few weeks too.

Ok, so from this everyone has been able to deduce that we are going to get an UBER WTFPWN faction BS worth billions of ISK that is going to be able to fit titan superweapons ? For a role playing community (well it is a role playing game) you have the smallest imagination ive encountered. Why is it not possible that this reward be a giant secure can thats coloured bright purple with flashing red lights covering it or something ? isnt that slightly more plausible that a uber faction BS worth billions ? As for buying IG items with RL currency, all you are doing is putting a email address in a box, if that is your email address and you end up getting the items because you signed up another alt account of yours, would that mean that YOU broke the EULA, because YOU bought, or attempted, to buy an IG item with RL currency ? Please people im getting really sick of everyone dev-bashing everytime they try and make the game better for us. Or do you really beleive that the devs are out to destroy the game that they have worked on for over 10years now ?

Yup, this is much more appropriate. I'd expect this of EA or SOE but not CCP... please reconsider.

a good monthly prize could be a t2 cap recharger 500 run BPC.
Or 5 prizes of t2 cap recharger = 100 run BPCs

You mean, like a fully fitted faction BS?
Or a full set of pirate implants?
CCP - seriously, don't do this. --------

Quote:
This monthÆs prizes In the first round we will be giving out these amazing prizes:
A factional battleship fitted with uber mods. Pick from the following factional battleship and we will fit it with the appropriate uber gear: Navy Raven, Megathron Navy Issue, Tempest Fleet Issue, Apocalypse Navy Issue.
A complete set of pirate implants. Get a complete set of these very hard to get pirate implants that not only will enhance your attributes but also give additional bonuses depending upon type of implant. Select from: Snake: 53.63% velocity and smuggling chance bonus Slave: 53.63% armor hp bonus Crystal: 53.63% shield boost bonus Talisman: -38.12% energy emission systems duration bonus Halo: -20.7% signature radius bonus
A Heavy Assault Cruiser of your choice. Select from these HAC's: Zealot, Cerberus, Deimos, Vagabond.
Now, nr1 and 2 both are worth in excess of two BILLION isk each.
That is an amount of ingame wealth most character less then a year into the game can only dream of having, let alone getting for doing absolutely ****-all.
Nr3. is worth maybe 130million isk, which would be fine.
Please keep thins somewhat in perspective CCP. We're ttalking about giving away the comparable worth of 12+ months of subscription time here. Why can't you just keep it out of game instead of this ? The worth of these prizes equals the market worth of a character that has been playing the game for about two whole years....
I'd love to know how many new subs you get via the buddy program tbh. Might be worth subscribing a dozen new accounts for one month if that gives me a good chance of winning said prize in the coming month After all, thats only half the cost of what the prize would be worth...
