I think I can say that all teams in ISD are looking for people who love EVE, not people who wants to be in ISD to remain in EVE.

You know, I'm kinda glad I am leaving Eve tbh, I don't need to put up with smartass remarks like that.
All I have wanted to do is help make a better Eve.
I wanted to help new players, and I wanted to add content for them to enjoy.
I honestly don't think I deserved that low-blow Wrangler, but if it makes you feel big you go for it.

I was trying to say that joining ISD if you're tired of EVE isn't a good idea at all. Not for you because if you're tried you might get sick of the tests and training and all of that and not for ISD because we might get a person who is tired and doesn't do what they should do. It wasn't meant as an insult at all and I apologise if it seemed that way.
Maybe you just need a break? RMR might not bring a lot of content, but at least there will be some, and that might be a good time to come back and check things out. Or maybe you need a shorter break or even a longer break? It's up to you, but I know how you feel, I've taken breaks from EVE and ISD at some points as well, and being away for a while helps sometimes.

However, it would seem that I am no longer good enough.

Sure I am. Honestly, I really am pretty sad that I can't contribute in the way I would like to.
I'm pretty sure I have a lot to give the community, but I guess the role arrogant SOB is already taken (no names).
Still it was unfair of me to vent in this thread, and for that I am sorry.
Still, it means I have plenty more time for the forums, so that's good news for you!

We do take forum warnings into account as well as ingame warning, we may ignore a few minor ones but if you have been banned there is not much chance you will be accepted.

I would advice people to apply :) If you have the time to spare and your heart in the right place, being part of a volunteer team is a blast. :) I was a volunteer guide in Everquest for 4 years and i loved every minute of it untill RL time constraints forced me to leave.
I have no doubt the eve volunteer teams are atleast as much fun as the EQ ones were.
So if you think you are up to it, and feel you want to make a difference for your fellow players, then you really should try it out.
Sorry, could not resist to post when i saw some people hesitating :)

Am I labeled as a WoW'er permanently? Lately I have been playing EVE more than WoW but for me, I only play in SiSi where I can jump in and enjoy fair PvP. It's not possible in TQ. Althou, I pay 2 accounts and I can damn well do that I play only in SiSi .. can't I?

I recently submitted my application for any and all positions in ISD but I've only been around for about a month and a half. Any chance I'm going to be accepted? I know more than the average month and a halfer in my opinion, seeing as how I spend many hours in the forums alone (can't play at work. computer too crappy. oh yeah, and it's work). I "only" spend three or four hours a day in game, though.

I can see how it would apply to someone wanting to be a forum moderator, but should it really apply to someone who wants to help with events?
If you are active in the community (good), and have played for a long time (good), and so have lots of knowledge and experience (good), the chances are you will have had a run in on the forums at some point.
Maybe this is one of the reasons that the events are so lacking in Eve?
The merits of the subscriber should be judged for the role, not the history of the character on the forums.
Still, CCP's game, CCP's rules. Just seems a bit dumb that the community has to suffer from poor events when there are people out there willing to bust a gut to make them better.

Seriously, if I listed some of the reasons I have had warnings you would probably laugh your socks off.
I don't think any of mine have been from actually being offensive or abusive (surprisingly).
More to the point, I have never been 'told off' for in-game actions, and surely that is more important for someone wanting to help out in events?
