i get the message "the connection to the server was closed" but i still have corp m8's in game, how can this be happening as its obviously not a server crash.....

i feel sry for them of loosing there name yeah.. but letting it out on all other eve players are bad...
first of all they clerly got the communitys support but i doubt how much support they have after this....

Well they stopping 1000's of people playing a game they PAY to play for ****s sake.
I hope they all get long ban, say 1 day per player they ****ed off, each.
So ******* childish.
CCP who is in charge of this game. For a long time I figured certain corps/players have way too much influence in how this game developes. Prove that you still got the balls to sort these idiots out.

in terms of any protest or anything else - this post isnt aimed at that (CCP should have a banned corp name list that if u enter it in as youre corp name it wont allow u to create that corp) - they are simply enforcing their vague EULA (which will probably be upgraded and fined tuned)
Now back to the server balancing and node handling ability - i would think the node handled this for a little while but after a while it couldnt - ok so why didnt jita just shut down and the rest of the nodes work ok.
The whole thing did crash - now what if after this we get more empire battles in jita. I mean just youre standard alliance war with 500 in local at once ? will the servers again crash - will it be ok after RMR and the drone nerf

If it is a result of the 4s name thing, then i have little sympathy towards their 'cause'. Popular support should always be a motive towards change, and an inconvenience such as this is hardly a way to go about getting such support. Direct action which lags everyone into a frosty corpse isn't peachy; its indiscriminately annoying everyone, that is ccp and players as a whole.

Dev Blog stated that 4s isn't getting their name back, now weather or not 4s actually had something to do with the server being down or not, i don't know.
Protesting for something you believe to be wrong is all fine and good, but surely there are better way to do it than that.
However if they were looking to get attention.....they succeeded.

I wouldnt normally mind this but I have a 20 minute skill running and no idea when I can get back on, I hate losing sp.
I do think 4S are right in light of S.A.S being able to keep there name and not them but its ****ty timing from my point of view.

A 1 week ban is insufficient for the disruption they've caused. I pay good money to play this game and I fully understand it when the server has problems that are not caused on purpose, but when other players affect the gametime I pay for on purpose, it's inexcusable.
Either ban those responsible permantly or make them pay my subscription fees for 8th Nov 2005.

I see this as on less then a criminal act. This is the same as some one spreading a virus and shutting down a bussiness.
Find them, ban them and thire IPs then call the local police.

S.A.S corp gets renamed
and then despite having pretty mutch the same reason for getting the name changed, S.A.S gets the name back, while 4S dont(decided by ccp, and not GM's appearently)

I sympathised with 4s TBH, however just like in RL, there is now no way back for CCP to negotiate or this will become a regular occurence every time certain player groups dont agree with CCP.
4s have backed CCP into a corner and the only possible outcome now has to be overwhelming/visible action against those responsible. It is truly a shame because CCP had offered to discuss a name change and this action may have been a little premature.
One thing is for sure, CCP cannot back down now.
There are ways and means, this however was ill conceived

I didnt sign up and agreed to sacrifice any of my time for some sad protest like this.
What would happen if CCP gave in for them? Next time someone wanted to protest something be it just about some nerf, name change, event or what ever. They would just try crash server and maybe CCP would do what they wanted.
