A new superpower?
For a long time factions of the north have been stereotyped as weak and defensive. We have seen this on every occasion where other factions have invaded northern territories, especially the Great Northern wars of 105/106.
Deklein residents while going through thier many factional name changes were once regarded as miners who relied heavily on mutual protection pacts with their stronger northern neighbours.
But things have changed...
G Alliance, Iron and friends have dealt a bitter blow against the south.
Southern allied factions are reeling from what can only be described as a perfectly planned and executed 'strategic offensive'. Not only have they dug deep in enemy territory 80 jumps from home. They have aquired an outpost, won the majority of fleet engagements and now negotiated a permanent outpost base with S-A deserters now G collaborators, Oberon Inc.
There is no question, a superpower has been born. And for once, they are from the north.
But what does this mean for the future of the south?
With the G war machine now rolling into ASCN territory and the bruised and broken S-A alliance clearly no match for them, things look bad and soverignity change is inevitable. It will take some major house cleaning and fresh thinking tactical commanders to repel this invasion and rebuild the south.
Stain- Alliance?
This once powerful faction with its many veterans from the brutal Curse Alliance era is on its last legs. Alliances can live on thier reputations for only so long until they are challenged and outbeaten by a better, smarter, and more unified foe.
G have what S-A lack, unity & participation. When you have unity in your faction and everyone participating, there is nothing and no one you cannot beat.
Like the Fountain Alliance, Stain- Alliance had become decadant, an old warhorse unable to keep up with the versatility of todays modern galatic warfare. It is said that if S-A and SE had not started a civil war for control of stain, things would be different today.
Stain Empire
But what of Stain Empire? Clearly there are a few notable corporations that have dug deep and kept the rebel S-A from completely claiming old SE territory, notably Xenobytes. Will Stain Empire claim this victory and return to stain despite the bulk of thier corporations having not actually participated in the struggle? Razor Alliance clearly had more contribution in fighting the S-A rebels than SE, will SE now clean out the slackers from thier ranks?
NBSI, Phoenix Alliance
Their contributions to the southern conflicts have not been on scale with that of G, but they both indiviually have thier issues with Stain- Alliance after S-A's incursions into thier space in the last few months. My fellow reporters in the north informs me that PA are 'very busy' in the north, this would explain them not capitalising on S-A's downfall.
Ascendant Frontier
ASCN working with G to take over Stain territories, the truth? propaganda? or blatent lies?
Whether it was the case at the beginning of the invasion is now irrelevant as G are seeking ASCN blood.
Will ASCN ***** under the might of G or will they pull off a victory to mark the ages? If they repel the invaders what political or military ramifications will entail from their alledgely leaked territorial agenda?
Other Factions
BOB, RA, FIVE, FIX have all remained strangely quiet during the transition of the south, it also seems none have looked to profit territorially from the unrest. G & Irons backyards remain mostly unmolested in what would have been a perfect opportunity to strike.
One thing is assured, new Factions and new leaders will arise from the fighting in the south, with new agendas and ambitions. Stay tuned.

well FE being not on the list just can mean 1 thing :
you guys donŠt bring it !!!!! a bit harsh i know,.. but true..... people recognize you by your actions and not by only your "blablabla" on the forums ( no insult, just my opinion

i'm happy you consider G a super power.. will this thread change anyone else's opinion (good or bad) about G.. prolly not.. but we'll sleep better knowing u think well of them :)

i just think that a lot of ppl underestiminated G/IRON, prolly because they arent that old and keep a rather low profile in public.
Ppl just didnt take so much notice of em because they were defending their and other alliances space vs alliances such as BoB.
Alone the fact that they managed to have balanced fight results vs BoB shows that they always had the potential to become also a major attacking force.
And thats what might be the reason to call them now a "major" power, the ability not only to defend their own space very well but also being able to hit enemies successfully in their territory on a large scale and thats what i think makes the difference between a good and a top pvp alliance.

g/iron/razor didnt attack "the south"...
the one and only target was stain.
after the "invasions" from mass & friends in spring and se in late august, it was imo about time to return the favour.
the current situation wasnt on the list but will be dealt with, for sure.
its not a "yarr lets kill the south!" thingie
and we had already way to much "south vs north" crap on the forums this year.. so pls...
ofcourse... mostly comming from ubersoutheners

People should not NAP everybody around them. I kills all the fun in boredom. NAP's are only good for miners and the station isk EB ^^ masters. You be weak after a month.
Were all having a mighty good time atm up South. Should everybody just drive up in the name of this South vs North crap the only winner would be lag.
Is it so bad somebody looses a station or a region? Isn't this what the creators of the game wanted us to do? Would FIX not love to have a go at Stain or vice versa? Didn't the puppetmaster not just confessed today he switched to the darkside while dreaming of more land? Leave some room folks for chance and get more out of our game!

they wont last 2 weeks with ascn.
in which time they ll be coming up with a good excuse on why they had to leave SA space.
they had a one good day getting kills while backstabing. its down hill from this point on for G

Nope, only the ones reported, and the exact number right now is 646 SA kills by FE.

This one have been in the wait for a long long time.
Over a year of trimming deadweight and change have transformed the northern corps and alliances. But lets wait and see when BoB will commit. Things will look a bit more outlined after they deside what to do. But right now 5 is in bad shape. SA is in very bad shape. And ASCN is in for a rough ride now. That leaves VI. As far as I can gather they are feeling the pressure under MC. And RISK moved down to south, (couldn't beat PA at pos war? suprice suprice). Right now the northern corps are on the offensive. And have pushed back the first initial wave of the south. Time will tell how this will end.
So far it's been really great fun. Really have. We lost some. We won some more. And we have had a blast tbh. We're still looking forward to much more great fun. You've put up a great fight. And one really needs to be on once toas. All in all. Good game guys, may more still come.

We really did have a lot of SA kills in empire during the few weeks of empire war, no doubt about it. And I never encountered any smack from SA which needs to be mentioned. I have no idea about our losses during that time so I won't comment anything on that.
GL to all parties involved down south, have fun shooting each other as that's what counts.

G has always been pretty good at fighting, and they can field a huge blob. Most alliance are just good at fielding a big blob.
