Unfortunately, I think this change will make people use a completely new set of instas. Now they will make it so that your would normally at 0M end up 3K beyond the gate so that there would be a maximum chance of an instant jump. and this way even with you ending up 15K, short of your target you will only be 12 away, not 15.
Warpin-----------------gate----------target _____________|______0______|_ 12Km ---------2.5K---------------2.5K Notice the instant jump range is now more than a third of all possible ranges. Any Misjump will be a lot closer to the gate.
Verdict - this will not stop people using instas, it will just make them make whole new sets of them.

Is the stealth bomber -100% to sensor recalibration time when decloaking being added to this patch as well? That thread has been up on the Ships and Modules board for a while now, is it being implemented in RMR? I still think a 90% chance to make it through a gate is too high.
Edit: I used like 10 instas 1 of which was off by around 6.5 km. These are by no means exact stats. __________________________

The point is, even if they are made completely random within 15K, using an insta to slightly go past the gates will still make it so you hit the gate a lot closer on average with most being insta jumps.
This method will not cause the elimination of instas unless they remove bookmarks completely, and I think that would be a grave mistake.

So far, what's cool: new character sheet interface new NPC spawns  warp to within 0m (when it works as stated ;p) criminal countdown timer  the new manufacturing interface
What sucks: the new font - it's just not as legible as our current selection warp to within 0m (when I end up 12km from my destination)
I may need to work my sec status up a bit faster so I can run back to high sec empire when my instas no longer work. Gate campers = win

I got criminally flagged when a NPC rat attacked my ship. I didn't fire back (seeing as how I didn't have weapons). Is this working as intended or a bug? If it is working as intended, who or what do I get criminally flagged against? ----------

During my testing of of the 0m warp in, it veried anywhere from 5 to 17km. The same can be said for the instas I tested. Is this how it is planned? If so, I fail to see how this will help the "Exodus" to lo-sec space. Quite the contrary from what I can see. The gatecampers will have a field day.

The new font could use more tracking and weight. Also a change in the contrast between the color of the font and background on drop down lists for things like skills and bookmarks would be an improvement. Right now it seems the contrast needs to be softer between the white font and grey background. |

Everything else is nifty though, including Character sheet =) That gets 2 "nifty" stars; one for the sheet, and one so I can see where I'm walking in the dark.

It pretty much works like the 2.5km random modifer on TQ, with the difference being that the the modifier is now 15km. This applies to any distance, which means that a warp to 100km can drop you at a distance of 85 to 115km.
I think this implementation is nowhere near final. It is probably a work in progress that simply had to go to SiSi for testing. I can not imagine that the way warping currently works on SiSi is anywhere near what the devs intended. So in my opinion there's no need for panicking and no purpose in starting any balancing discussion based on this.

Be nice if I could even get on test saver. Copy eve and put in new patch. I get Status: ok. 88 players Version 2.09.3737 Nice so I log in my pass and as it logging in Authenticating one of 2 thngs happen. 1/ I sit there waiting ti get on game as the logging takes for every 2/ unable to connect to port what ever I might get back on test save one day

well as it stands the SISI build at the moment is very buggy (will be worked on quite rapidly im guessing) otherwise this thread is about the stacking changes (why CCP didnt start a general RMR thread including instas and new NPC changes etc is beyond me but ah well) so is anyone testing the stacking changes ? to reduce lag by encouraging players to have more specific setups instead of having 1 of each little thing ?
Seems the lag busting business is moving ahead much quicker than i thought with other featuers possibly making the cutting room floor for a janurary or feb or kali patch. Interesting tiems ahead 0 the main issue is larger slower ships more exposed by random warp in at 0km - what id like to see is those ships with larger sig radius and slower base speeds have a reduced margin of out extreme ie maxiumum of 5km from gate isntead of say 15km for frigs and 12km for cruisers (this will still make these large ships useful in 0.0 and low sec and wont mean frieghter trips to 0.0 taking 12 hours isntead of 3 hours as they do now
Either that or give us mini freighers with 40,000 m3 - 75000 m3 but still maintain reasoble speeds.

just a thought stacking overdrives will now give a higher speed bonus add a afterburner or microwave drive to that and things could actually give a bigger speed boost for industrials (hope that is left in due to the insta nerf) how about overdrives that give a speed boost to frieghers if the insta changes arent tied in with sig radius the bigger the sig radius the closer the 0km to gate feature will work
