Im with Zeidrich on this one, you play a game to be the best at "something" if someone with uber powers (like a dev or gm etc.) just decides to like someone more or just pick someone randomly and decide to give or do something to that person that gives him/her more power than any other person can have, there is no reason for others to play anymore, because they then took away one of the first reasons to play a game, to be the best (yes I know fun is also a reason, but being the best IS fun).

Who can trust anything TTI say these days?
1) TTI are to receive something in exchange for giving the Jovians their laser back.
2) At the same time a Miner II BP is advertised for sale in trade channel.
1 + 2 = big frickin' koinkidink?
I think not.
This whole affair smells worse than a Minmatar jockstrap.
I still have to hear/read a reasonable explanation of WHY TTI should receive anything other than the item they traded the laser for back.
This BP will now father copies which will NOT be affected by the next patch.
TTI have a license to print money.
I don't much care that they HAVE it.
It's HOW they got it that stinks.
And yes, I'm betting my bottom dollar that TTI have this BP.
The seller of the BP is so obviousl an alt.

Hey, I don't know if it's held by TTI.
There were about 3 theories given, one that it came off a pirate drop out in fountain. One that it was just randomly given out to a guy. And one that it was given as compensation to TTI for their Nieblung.
Nobody's stepped forward and claimed responsibility for the blueprint. And no TTI representative has stepped forward and said that in fact that's not what they've been given as compensation for the Nieblung.
As I said, if someone got it from a pirate drop, well congrats. If it were me though, I would be telling the world that that's how I got it. OF course I wouldn't say where or what from, but I'd be letting them know that I'd got it.
On the other hand, if it was traded to me by some dev or just given to me, you better believe I'd shut my mouth about it. I mean, this is the kind of crap that comes up if people hear about it.
So that said, will TTI step forward and say officially that this BP had nothing to do with the removal of the Nieblung? Because frankly, I don't give a damn how it was found, and if it's a secret, it can be kept a secret. But I do care if it's fair or not how it came into the game. Because crap like that will determine how many more months I'll spend subscribed to this.

The pirate drop in fountain is in question, too. My corp is part of the fontain alliance and I asked around once I saw it, it was news for everyone.

Well TTi have statedthey do NOT have this BP
They haven't produced miner2's and they haven't made copies
The two gusy that are claiming to have the BPs, are from OEM and DCM form what i can gather.
I ahve yet to see proff this exists at all, and if its a single laser or a BP.
All just word of mouth, so lets wait and see what comes of this...

TTI don't sell BPs ....have any of you ever heard of a TTI person selling them ? It's our policy not to. MASS copies ruin the market.

Now why can't you all just find out if Zincol (who has anyone read his last couple of forum threads? ) is telling the truth?
Wake up people. Not everything that happens in EVE is a big TTI conspiracy plot. You demean yourself when you speak unfounded crap over and over and over every single day. You think noone can beleive what TTI says? I think its the other way around. We never once lied about the tech lvl 5 laser.
Now please get to the matter at hand without using the name TTI every sentence cause it really looks bad on you guys.

I personally like how these things are selling for 5.5 million.
It's kind of funny that a miner 2 would take 5 million isk of minerals to create.
Well, Id doubt it does.
I'd ask anyone who currently has one of these lasers to go to
a) a recycling depot and click recycle on the item, make note of the mineral cost, and then hit cancel and let us know
b) a mission depot, and start to create a courier mission with this as the item, click on the "Calculate Base Cost" button by the collateral field.
I'll make a guess that this thing costs less than 100k to make.
That means they're making 5.4 million or more every 30 minutes per copy of the BP that they have, and that's just to have some alt sitting in a factory cranking them out and selling them.
That means if they've got 3 copies + original, they're making enough cash right now to buy a battleship every few hours on laser sales alone. This is while they're out doing whatever rich people do on their main character.

unfortunately devs did this quite alot in beta,hand delivering special items to known corps,and if this will be the norm for eve,expect a massive backlash.
with almost all non pvp content being screwed or halfimplemented,and all good loot coming from pvp,amny are really getting tired of waiting for ccp to deliver on the box promises.
i for one am tired of the same old loot this moinster tactic that ccp is using,as its not inovative and rather 1 dimensional.
where are reverse engineering,agents that give something worth a dam,corp interface that actually lets us manage?on the box eve came it,is the only place they can be seen.
so much potential so little actually there.

The whole affair has been a major f*ckup and has now been handed over to the "Wag the Dog" (great movie) DAMAGE CONTROL team.
Amazing how fast CCP can react to create drama and distraction, on a weekend even. The news is full of role playing Jovian encounters, Tech II mining lasers as well as a BP have been introduced into the game, people scrambling all over the universe to obtain a miner or catch a Jovian.
Exposure followed by distraction followed by a forgotten memory just like every other exploit, cheat, favouritism issue since live.
Before the DAMAGE CONTROL team was assembled they just hid for a week or two avoiding all questions and hoped it went away.
If only they reacted this quickly to known issues and bugs in the game.

As an executive of TTI I am not aware of our company coming into possession of a Miner II BP. That being said though I will point out that all the people in this company are individuals and the company really doesn't own anything anyway. If an individual has negotiated, discovered, traded or anything else for this BP I am not aware of it.

I'll just ignore that Joshua and instead invite you to post a link to posts where I have lied? I haven't.
I do not know what happend in the Jovian meeting as the one party who did attend was sworn to secrecy. He has not been able to share whatever happend with the rest of the senior staff of TTI nor its membership. Eventually I'm sure it will come out but until then it's all just speculation. I myself have several theories that range from having him made a Jovian to getting just his investment back. Anything could happen but all this premature speculation at this point is merely a waste of a valuable resource (our brain cells).
Whoever has this BP (probably more then one because I've heard there were as many as 10 total of those hi-tech lasers ingame) will have a temporary monopoly on them. Thats life and I am happy to see capitalism reign. That being said I also wish it was me who had it as the millions of isk to be made won't be lining my wallet anytime soon (at least from that item).
So if someone rich has it, yes, the rich get richer, but odds are if there really we're more then a couple of those lasers traded for that there are several smaller corps who have it (or solo players). It will be interesting to see what happends.

I haven't played much at all this week.
Really can't face the prospect of mining for a battleship, getting really annoyed with the local channel bug when travelling anywhere, feeling very very unsure about the direction Eve is taking, and most of all, my char is still cross-eyed.

A "secret meeting" one day, and the next day someone starts advertising a copy of the Miner II BP on the trade channel for 1.45 billion ISK. The seller claims that it is ONE of TWO copies available in game and that no originals exist.
Seems pretty clear to me that something is seriously rotten here...

I could care less about who has it (the Miner II BP) atm.. because they are going to be making billions till they confirm that the HeNe Particle Stream Bore (aka the daddy of the CU Vapor :)) can be found ingame..
But, this is purely my opinion on the matters.. nothing more.
TTi know how I feel about them.. I think they are capitalizing newb harvesters. Their miners work to the beat of the drum, while the traders run in fear of perpetual doom.
I don't care who has it.. how they got it.
Adapt to it and quit *****ing.

Then tell us about these reports. Provide some details. We're all dying to know - hell I'd like to know and I'm in TTI.
Gossip doesn't do anything if you have some information share it. But baseless accusations (and they're baseless until proven) do nothing but inflame people and cause dissent. To what end do you seek?
I will also add that an INDIVIDUAL at TTI purchased that Jovian Miner V laser not the entire company. That individual is the one who met with the Jovians as well later on. TTI doesn't have the BP. We don't own anything as a corporation. If that individual has anything from the Jovians its the individuals decision what to do with it and not TTI's.
