Edited by: Skelum on 20/11/2005 16:58:45 Id appreciate if ppl could post the most common locations the've seen macro miners doing their dirty work.
Being a hauling mission runner, I can always drop by a system and help out a macro miner haul some of his minerals.

They seem to like the quieter 0.8 systems and hang around a lot around in Amarr space.

When you are taking their ore, be sure that their cans goes poof, i read somewhere that it should make their "bot" go crazy, i useually make a new can right next to their can and then shoot up mine, as i don't got the indy skill.
Look at the buttom here: Proof of macro bandits in Maspah

Scolluzer. I see them all the time, but i didn't know until today that it was okay to send out a petition for suspected macro miners. It's quite suspicious when you see three CAS newbies in barges and one FNA newbie in an Iteron IV mining ice, all with names that follow the same pattern.

I'd happily "borrow" some ice from the macro'ers in maspah. If X13 would kindly stop trying to kill me when i do it

You can find them in almost any system in Empire now. Next time you're APing around Empire...just scroll in local. You will be amazed.
I estimate about 4000 macro miners are in the game now.

He's right. It's the Chinese that are famous for macroing. Luckily, they're getting their own server soon.

Ryddinjorn and Elgoi were both pretty bad about Macro Miners. Used to go there all the time... but since my sec hit -2.0... well, I haven't checked them out in a while. ______________________________

I have seen a lot of suspected macroers in Jita, Yulai, and now in Osmomonne. Some L. User running 5 accounts, all starting with the same identical 5 letters, and all created withing minutes of eachother.
If anyone is up to a little friendly bumping, knock yourself out :)

Try google for "macro" and "EVE", and you will be surprised.

I hadnt been down to Elgoi for awhile but visited recently and saw the population was about 60 higher than normal, popped through the fields out of curiousity and in the ice field there was about 40 macros, bloody shocking, gonna have fun helping them haul though

There were several working the Eletta system, tearing into the 2nd asteroid field there with several mining barges and an Iteron mk V about 4 hours ago. It looked like they were pretty darned serious, so I suspect that they may not have left.
I recall offhand that they were using drones, but I don't seem to recall seeing combat drones.
Best of luck.

Edited by: Irashi on 02/12/2005 11:39:52 A macro won't go anywhere they're likely to get (legally) destroyed. suicide ganking their barges and haulers in high sec is the only way to get at them. I hate it when they use apocs, it spoils everything.

We all know the way to stop macro miners, and for those of you who dont then the answer is DONT BUY ISK FROM EBAY, so everyone who has ever done this I hope is not complaing about them. Until the next patch which will help get rid of them, ie. stealing the minerals then leaving it in a can right next to them until thier hauler comes to pick it up thus turning them into an ore thief .
To those of us who like to play the game and get thier own mins but are sick of going into a belt to see the MM's at WORK!! then get yourselfs an alt with a frig and go kill em, seeing as CCP has alot more on thier minds
