huginn, of course, meaning "cuddly".

Pff, what do they know? They're obviously suffering from severe snuggle dysphoria.

Amarr Titan should be called Leviathan. It fit very well, Leviathan being a biblical creature of great power and the Titan being a massive ships with planet destroying lasers and meter-thick armour.

At the very least, check wikipedia for facts before making statements like that.
It's called Fenrir because it's big.

o.o;

Not entirely sure, But I think Fenrir only devours odin, not the world. (Been wrong before though)
But I really thing the Caldari teir III should be called the DODO. |

If I remember my Norse mythology right, Fenrir was actually a giant, not a wolf. The big bad wolf was called Fenris.

Nah, he's a giant wolf that eats Odin then gets killed by one of Odin's sons, innit?
Loki was Fenrir's dad (er...), and one of Fenrir's sons was called Skoll. The other wasn't named after a larger. ______________________________________________

I wonder why no-one thought of Jormungand for the Minmatar Titan? (Check the link closely, he's in there somewhere!)
I like; "Golgotha" for the Amarr Titan...lit. translation "Place of Skulls" "Garuda" for the Caldari (Garuda is a Hindu Bird God...better than yer average bird, eh?...Quetzalcoatl was another suggestion, but a bugger to type in the escrow window...) As far as I can tell, Gallente names appear to be made up with no reference to any sort of system, so it's hard to make any sort of reasonable suggestion. "

Edited by: Phantab on 24/11/2005 13:59:15 i was under the impression that the chain that was used to bind "fenris ulven" had one crapass link, and that is was that one that skrewed everyone. This is not mentioned in the wikipedia link, anyone able to confirm/dismiss this claim?
p.s. my information comes from a comic book :)

because it's GIGANTIC, just like Fenrir...
how about this, the Badger is an extraordinarily nasty creature and more than big enough to very seriously hurt a man with great ease, it's very common if one is shot to be even more dangerous in its dying throws than it already is, so why is an Industrial ship with the offensive capability of a glorified gnat named for such a dangerous animal?
BECAUSE IT'S BIG TOO.

Amarr focus on anglo-christian terms/references for their ships. Something like Gabriel, or something like that, for the Dread, would be more fitting. Or Emperor's Hand, something cheesy.

Although, as an aside, if you are looking for 'facts' its generally best to avoid Wikipedia altogether.

Only thing biased on Wikipedia are company exerpts. Everyone makes themselves out to be groundbreaking inovators when they've been stagnant for decades.

Yay ! I was right, he was a big bad wolf that Ate Odin at the end of the world. I knew when I studied norse mythology at 8 years of age it would be needed in the real world !
Still think the caldari Teir III should be called the DODO though ! |
