Ok going by Hilmars latest interview it would seem that Incarna has been shelved? i would like to know if this is the case? if so then basicly all this agro we have went through for these previous months has been for nothing? the years of waiting for WIS has been for nothing?, i for one am very pissed at this news, i just wish CCP would grow a set and finish what they started, they are now backtracking because of there "greed is good" laundry was aired for the public to see and yet again the player's gets shafted...and as for this....

NOOOO! its not that you where doing to much to soon, its the fact you thought "Greed was good" that got you in to this mess....and the only mistake you made was getting caught!, i feel all of this is complete BS, the only mistake he will avoid in future is getting caught. maybe if you focused on EVE and DUST instead of WOD you would,nt have to make huge cuts all over the board, but i still see Hilmar has his job and is high and dry up in his ivory tower while he lays of employee's for mistakes HE made, i feel nothing has changed and again im seriously thinking of ubsubbing from this game and taking my money elsewhere.... and no you cant have my stuff! lol |

Incarna being Shelved! Yes its great news isnt it? Now CCP just has to remove the Nex store and follow through with what they have said recently. |

Well no it's not great, not for the people like me that where actually looking forward to Incarna after 5 years of promises , I feel CCP dangled a golden carrot in front of us and then whipped it away without a care or though for the player base yet again, tbh I'm pissed at yet another broken promis, I'm pissed that I'm loosing faith in EVE, I'm sad that I've become apathetic towards the game that I once loved and invested so much time and money in!  |

Because FiS makes the game, simple as that.
No walking in stations without a nicely balanced and working FiS part. |

Then Undock this Winter and get it all back.
You see we have these arrows in the corner of the screen and if you press them you undock into a Spaceship in Space.
We call it the fun part of the game and if you get lonely there are chat boxes.

They tried it, it failed, failed SO HARD in fact, they lost 20% of the ppl in the company and had to also shelf WoD (which as I said, was the basis upon which your Incarna stuff was based and as I said, once that was shelved, Incarna was shelved *gasp*).
Yeah they should totally ignore that (and all the players that would them rather fix EVE) and destroy the company. Thatll really help EVE

Well my gripe is that CCP promised us both WiS and FiS, but the fact they majorly fluffed it all up by no doubt over spending on fancy shmancy clothing designers instead of using in house 3D model makers who design the ships we fly, then trying to pass the bill on to us in the form of over priced NEX store items. Incarna had so much potential and I'm sure everyone thinks the new avi models do look fantastic regardless of what you might think of CQ and Incarna.
I'm all for fixing the flaws of EVE and FiS, we do need new ships, we need to fix lag and other known issues, but to abandon Incarna after all the effort has already been placed in to it and while employees are loosing there jobs is frankly shocking, a lot of people stuck with EVE because of the promis of Incarna and WiS, I just think this will be yet another blow to eve and CCP as a company, there was and is room for both and to abandon one in favour of the other will cause more issues than it solves. |

I must say I'm relatively optimistic regarding this. Incarna is shelved, for now, but not forever.
WoD development continues, at a slower pace, though. It has been decoupled from EVE too, so no more WoD feature tests in EVE. Once they have the WoD (multiplayer) engine working and Dust in the market, I'm sure they will revisit Incarna and add value and content to it. Not next year, but within a couple of years we may see a new Incarna release. Just my two cents. |

I also liked the walking in station feature and was looking forward to it being expanded into the point where other characters could be in the same location. I'm disappointed if this is not going to be further developed.
People whining about the Nex store in the same breath as the WiS feature don't seem to undertand that these are two completely seperatable components that happened to be introduced at the same time. You don't have to buy anything from the Nex store, you now have your "ship spinning" back (where the ship doesn't actually spin, the camera view does), so you can pretend Eve is exactly like it was before the Incarna expansion if you want.
People bang on about "oooh Eve is broken, fix XYZ feature before doing ABC feature" but there are thousands of us managing to play the game just fine and accept the way things work at the moment. Just because someone wants something adjusted doesn't mean it needs to be adjusted.

I noticed that if someone sees some project being given less priority than the other (ie: WiS having less priority than FiS), some of the time that person assumes that the project is dead. Others assume that the project is being put in the sidelines. In reality, judging from the context of the dev blogs and interviews, WiS is just sitting in the sidelines until its turn arrives (like a batter in a ball game waiting for his turn to step up to the plate). So no, all the effort put into WiS has not been for nothing. It's just delayed due to players demanding that CCP fix the core problems of the game first.
I just had a talk with a friend who use to play Star Wars Galaxies and he told me how he hated the developers for continuously releasing new expansions without any regard to fixing the core issues. This basically led to a less-than-stellar popularity of the MMO. So, CCP is right in choosing to listen to the warnings of the players this time. Otherwise, Eve would have stagnated. |

Look, here's the long and the short of it. WiS is not a priority now, CCP's priority is where it should be - making kickass FiS expansions for the foreseeable future.
But guess what? Look at the video in Hilmar's apology devblog.
The ultimate vision for EVE is still to have WiS and FiS working seamlessly together,.
I will repeat that for those who are hard of hearing: CCP's utlimate vision for EVE is still to have WiS and FiS working seamlessly together.
So WiS-lovers, stop getting your panties in a bunch and stop making these threads, what you want will one day come to be; and FiS-heads, stop being such a bunch of ******* Luddite retards and accept that CCP's vision is, and always was, more than just spaceships.

Ummmm no I didn't, therenis room for both, people are loosing there jobs who worked darn hard on Incarna regardless of how bad ccp and hilmar rolled it out, and to scap it all now is such a shame a complete waste of months of hard work, there time, and ours! Now people can snipe and troll all they like, frankly it's expected, it doesn't change the fact that WiS would have brought so much more scope and dimension to eve,
Also for hilmar to also say in his interview that him leaving CCP would have been the easy option, sure hilmar we believe you, but it's easyer to fire 20% of your workforce after the balls-up that you made of Incarna? the entire interview made me want to kick puppies and push ponies in to sausage grinders! |
