lol
they work great, if you train for them.
Blend ftw
nima nima nima cried the stupid alt.
How bout this, i got Missile specilization and Laser specilization and armor tanking skills and shield tanking skill all trained up. Skills are not an issue.
Sacrilige still sucks, Typhoon still sucks compared to other BS (i love it personally but mostly for the skin).
People dont think these ships suck cause they need to train more skills, these ships DO SUCK because they get 2 primary weapon types and the same ammount of bonuses as ships with 1 primary weapon type. this effectively reduces there bonus compared to the specialized ships by a half, as the same # of bonuses (4 for HACs) need to be split amoung the different weapon types.
Lets look at Zealot and Sacrilige as case studies for a moment.
Zealot has bonus to turret Cap use, turret rof, turret damage, and a turret optimal range bonus
It uses 4 turrets
Sacrilige has a bonus to turret cap use, turret optimal range, missile launcher rof, and armor resists
Both have 4 turret hardpoints. The difference is that the Zealots rof and damage bonus mean the Zealot does 150% more damage on its turrets then the sacrilige does (with no damage mods).
With no damage bonus, flight speed bonus, etc. The missiles on the sacrilige suck more then they normally do (and Heavy missiles suck pretty bad even on cerberus) which does not make up for the damage loss in turret systems.
Combine that with the fact that the "uber" armor tanking sacrilige has less armor and 2 less low slots then the zealot, means its really not that "uber" of an armor tank, its simply all people can do because of the 2nd problem with dual weapon types, Damage mods.
Now, i dont know just how stupid you are X'Alor, but from your posts im going to go with pretty stupid. So let me inform you that damage types do not work across weapon types. Lets take post-patch setups, a damage setup is going to be 4 damage mods, now a zealot can do that no problem, but for a sacrilige to get the same effect as a zealot with 4 heatsinks, it needs to use 4 heatsinks AND 4 ballistic controls. The obvious problem enters that the sacrilige simply does not have 8 low slots.
Now does your brain understand why mixed weapon systems suck? It is NOT a matter of skills, it is a matter of setups. _______________________________________________
