Hi,
you will need, Winrar or Winzip etc.. a downloader (DAP, Orbit etc)
1 - Full Client : version 564012 You should find here the final version of the client here http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/offline-installer/
Today : 564012 http://content.eveonline.com/564012/EVE_Online_Installer_564012.exe http://content.eveonline.com/564012/eveonline_564012_1of2.7z http://content.eveonline.com/564012/eveonline_564012_2of2.7z
2 - Patches Today is 561078 to 564012 77.47MB http://cdn1.eveonline.com/564012/EVE_Online_561078-564012_win.zip always like http://cdn1.eveonline.com/LASTVERSION/EVE_Online_YOURVERSION-LASTVERSION_win.zip
3 - The launcher: version .2.1.559197 http://content.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_559197.exe
4 - The repair tool http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/345/repair.exe
Problems/issues. My full client needs to run the repair tool, it will download it and launch it. Wait...
The launcher refuses to patch or take an eternity to download it... Download ans extract the last patch copy it in the ../CCP/EVE/ Launch the Launcher, wait, it sould patch your client .... pray.
The launcher patch himself (and fails) reinstall it...
Next patch I will update this post
Good Luck
Question to CCP: How to Manually patch our client (in order to bypass this launcher ?) Save time, Restore Hope
P.S : i decided to post this here, cause all sticky ones are melted, outdated... |

Rather than posting these hokey workarounds, are you able to provide a log of what's going wrong in the Launcher, so that I can attempt to fix the underlying issue? Product Owner, EVE Launcher | Team Special Circumstances |

How about the fact the F-ing thing doesn't update.
1) I launch EVE's Launcher and it downloads a launcher update...then NOTHING
2) I launch the game directly, it says there's 6MB update and closes the game, go back to #1
rinse and repeat. |

Getting literally 0.1k/s with downloads droping from your content/cdn subdomains. It''s not my connection because thanks to OP I'm now downloading the files via a proxy at reasonable speeds. |

CCP Atropos, thank you for looking into it and being this involved in getting the launcher fixed. Best product owner I know about :)
Seriously Dyner, that attitude gets you nowhere. Sure it sucks that the launcher didn't work for you and it should get fixed asap, but this dev is trying to help you guys, I would pay isk to get a dev to look at my long bug list :(
Obviously the devs and many players don't have any issues in getting the launcher updated so they need more info (the logs). There are so many different configurations on windows(linux is even worse...), not only the OS difference, internet connection, hardware differences(including dying hardware) but also software, virus scanners, firewalls, drivers etc etc that could influence the patch process.
Keep up the good work Atropos! :D (Sadly I'm not running into any bugs with the launcher or I would have send you logs) |

Well heres my problem.. i open the launcher and it can not connect to the server.. so here is my log from the repair tool.. well ill give the part where it says error as im trying to work around the "May not contain HTML" error.
Quote: urllib2.URLError: urlopen error [Errno 10060] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond: 'http://client.eveonline.com/patches/repair_info.txt'
add in the arrors before urlopen and after the .txt'
Meaning my problem.. which means my launcher and the repair tool seem to have the wrong address perhaps? I dont know just happened 3-5 patches ago. |

For those of you with low download speeds can you please answer me these questions: Do you have a proxy configured somewhere? Do you have any specific network setups like wi-fi, 3G or UMTS? Do you use any 3rd party software for download acceleration / anti-virus / firewall / malware detection? Are you running any other disk and network I/O related things in the background (f.e. torrent downloads)? How many download threads do you have specified in the launcher settings? It s just an exotic post for exotics issues... To help others and me. About the Launcher... it uses to download a patch at 1-5KB/s (in a galaxy far away), and sometimes looking to update himself... I was thinking that CCP recieves my logs ("send Error and Usage Logs to CCP" in Launcher), i will care about these issues next time in order to detail them I m not complaining or screwing, i just want to play EVEm and share my help :)
Danehl wrote:

EDIT: Looks like the servers for those subdomains or routing to the subnets are borked - causing people's launcher update requests to time out. Downloaded patch file via a proxy server and unzipped it to eve directory and launcher skipped the 77mb download at 0.1k/s and updated OK for me.
Same issue here, but i use a simple Downloader Accelerator |

I'm in the UK if that helps.
I'm still d/ling at 11k, hadn't even logged in for three days because it was so bad i've not successfully patched, and actually had to google this so i could find instructions on how to install the patch file i downloaded off eve-files. This thread is pretty much the only thing that had kept me subbed today because it's proving such a ******* ballache to patch my client.

Well I went to reinstall today as I have a new pc. I was getting 11KB/s d/loading the client, i tried resetting my router but that didn't help. In the end I connected to a London VPN to see if that made a difference and it maxed my connection out.
So i'll at least be able to use the VPN to d/load the client/patches, but theres defiantly something not quite right still.

When I try to run launcher with the new patch, I get the following:
First, it downloads the patch.
Then it gives me the following error message:
See the logfile 'C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\launcher\appdata\EVE_Online_Launcher-2.1.569300.win32' for details
What that contains is (some altering so it will post):

Then if I try to run the launcher again, it seems to endlessly download the patch until I reboot.
I tried running repair. The first time it said there was a database error of PANIC, but the second time it worked. However, that didn't help other than update my version number (I think). The errors above were after the second repair, but the behavior was the same all time prior to that.
So I'm completely stuck until you resolve this. |

Hi CCP, I also have a question.
The launcher, well enough has been said about it, but for TQ it works. However, when I click on my SiSi shortcut, it loads the new launcher, as in the new new launcher that comes with SiSi.
There are no buttons, and it points to TQ, not Sisi, I cant find a field where to log on, or press launch at all. From some forum feedback, I guess this is because I run Win8.
Is there a fix for the test server launcher in the works, or do win8 users fire up the sisi client via the exe file in the bin directory? |

The launcher does not work for me.
(For the Devs: Its an ISP Caching probem. The files needed to identify the patch version never change size. They are text files of exactly the same size day to day. Since an ISP web cache uses the file size to determine if the file has changed it never updates in certain types of caches. This is mostly true in satellite internet such as I have. Properly handle the caching issue, and do what needs to be done to clear the current caches and you should be good. See this post: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=258646&find=unread)
The launcher wont auto apply a patch so here's how you force it to take a downloaded patch:
1. Download it to whatever directory you would like 2. With an internet connection open the launcher and let it fail 3. Go to settings -> patches -> import the patch. 4. Rerun the launcher. It will force it to be installed. All your base are belong to us! |

Hello,
I just wanted to add in this thread my problem. Today i launch the eve client, it then detects incompatible protocol so the client now detects a new version so it ask s for a 6mb download. Ounce it finishes it goes thru the process of updating closing the client, after several minutes after a 24mb download it starts another 1mb download which at this point it wont do nothing else. I forcibly close the the patching window and relaunch the eve launcher thru the launcher/appdata folder and to my surprise after 15 minutes the eve launcher just stucks on the 1/4 validating client. So i try launching client again and since the 6mb was already downloaded it goes difrectly to the updating window which now i am getting an error and it asks for the repair tool. I run the repair too and oi get an error.

Can you provide a log file for the launcher via pastebin or a support ticket? The logs should be located in [path to eve folder]\launcher\cache and are called launcher.2013.10.27.log or something like that. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances Friend of Walking Avatars |

Just took a look at it, and according to that log file then the SSL connection via port 443 is failing. This is most likely because either the proxy or a firewall does not allow requests from the launcher on that port. Please double check your configuration, and take note that just because it works in a browser does not mean it works in the launcher, as firewalls can be configured to only allow certain applications access to specific resources . Hi. Thanks to OP for the direct links to the patch.
I have incredibly slow internet where I live, so I have often been downloading the patch on a public computer where I can't install eve or the launcher. Getting a hold of the patch and moving it to my own computer when I get home saves me hours of patching.
I have been using https://client.eveonline.com/patches/patches.asp in the past, but i does not seem to work. Is that a bug or has that site been discontinued? Regardless. This was a very helpful feature for me. I hope you will continue to support it or make an alternative in the future. |

Hi. I long time had no opportunity, to continue diagnostics. Yes, i too see in this logs, failed SSL connection to https://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt, but this file i can open in browser. At the same time, i see in proxy, how launcher try get URL www.none.com:80. And I trust that more that I see on proxy. |

PS: And I don't understand that to you disturbs, it is simple to make opportunity to download patches separately and to import them through a launcher even if he has no successful connection. update: Launcher try open address 87.237.39.166(client.eveonline.com):443 irrespective of settings proxy in Browser, why ?? I see it when I look, what connections he tries to open from system where it is started.
The launcher should be picking up your system's proxy settings (e.g. the ones you specify in your control panel / in IE) without a problem. Which browser are you using? The None URL is because it could not get the info file so it does not know which places to connect to. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances Friend of Walking Avatars |

Browser, where the proxy is specified - IE. When i specify proxy in IE, launcher beginning connection try open 87.237.39.166(client.eveonline.com):443 and then establish connection to proxy, where i see connection to www.none.com:80 |

Right, I've done some deeper digging, and there is indeed a problem with the network module we are using and proxy-tunneled HTTPS connections. Oops. Looking into this, but this might take a moment to get fixed... Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances Friend of Walking Avatars |
