When fleeted with Orca some miners are jet-canning even nowadays and feeling protected by Suspect Timer they simply don't care whether you land 500 m from their can full or ore or not. Most likely being AFK they are unaware you are there in the first place.
Is this really the sandbox we want for our children - to grow up as dull creatures, bored with life? If no, let's help them and restore delicate balance in the Universe.
The work-in-progress idea is simple. When a can is flipped it will turn turquoise (or some similar color) and Can Flipping Timer starts counting down - everyone is now free to take the loot for the duration of 15 minutes. The initial can-flipper will still be a Suspect but every other can-flipper won't, ofc as long as Can Flipping Timer is still counting. If the same miner decides to jettison while the timer has not reached 0 it will restart back to 15 minutes.
It's not something I know but at least miners will need to be more attentive PLAYers and not so much bot-like AFK'ers. |

How about we just do something that makes sense instead: Stealing from a yellow can or wreck starts a Limited Engagement timer with the owner.

So you want to can-flip with a throw-away alt for 1 ore unit so your main can come after for the full can and not be flagged as suspect right? |

The idea is to protect our dear miners without unintentionally harming them with overprotection. |

Why not just warp in with a Skiff on your main and take more than half of the can (assuming it's full) and then warp in with another Skiff on your alt and take the rest of it? |

It sounds to me like your suggestion would make jetcanning even less risky. Right now, if you flip a can you turn suspect, if the minor tries to take it back then they become suspect (something I never felt made sense, but that is how the game works).
If I understand what you are saying, you want the minor (or Orca pilot) to be able to grab that can back with no penalty at all. How does that help keep minors on their toes? Seems like it makes things even more safe for them. |

there is no can flipping timer. its called suspect timer. So are you asking to remove ownership of cans completely? Or do you want free kills without raking any risks? Explain. eve style bounties (done) dust boarding parties imagine there is war and everybody cloaks - join FW |

I said 'most likely'. The truth is - most miners are not even remotely attentive while mining, varying from semi-afk to afk. Everyone knows that. |

And even if they were, they couldn't fight back anyway. So in itself mining is borked, as to setup a fleet for protection is pulling teeth (as it's just as boring to the protectors). "In a world of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." ~George Orwell

Why so personal? I'm no can flipper - never did it in my life - I just think it would be more balanced and fair. This current system is neither. |

No thank you, the can still belongs to the owner and anyone stealing it turns suspect. Miners still need to be attentive players if they are jet can mining-especially from gankers. I'm not a carebear... I'm a SPACE BARBIE!-á Now... where's Ken? |

That's not how the game works. You're right on the first part, but not on the second. Taking stuff from a person who is suspect doesn't constitute as stealing in the current system and therefore won't make you a suspect. |
