Is the formula for actual tankable DPS for active shield tanking this:
4*A/((1-0.B)+(1-0.C)+(1-0.D)+(1-0.E)
trying to figure out what the number for active shield boost under recharge rate for pyfa means..
Thank you

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I see 3 things on PYFA. One is Reinforced tank, which is the maximum DPS you can tank for at any given time assuming you have the capacitor reserve to run the modules.
Sustained indicates the maximum permanent tanking capability, based on capacitor recharge rate. This gives your maximum cap stable tank.
And the passive recharge just has maximum tank given your shields being reduced to the sweet spot, or in other words that magical place somewhere between 20 and 35%. I really don't care exactly what it is myself, but I've seen plenty of people argue just where the sweet spot is. |

Thanks for the response
but what I'm trying to understand is does that number HP/s equal to dps it can tank against?
For example let's just say for a sustained tank you have 200 hp/s, does 200 hp/s = 200 dps or something else? and if it does , then how you find the actual dps number?
sorry if its a dumb question |

Ah yes, HP/s equals the amount of EHP it gains per second. This is equivalent to the amount of HP it has against a uniform damage type, meaning it deals equal amounts of damage from each damage type. The exception to this is when you specifically indicate a given damage type. Don't always assume that this HP/s is completely true. If you have kinetic hardeners on your ship, your HP/s will be higher due to a high resistance against the given damage type. If you are in a shield tanking ship with no EM hardeners, your HP/s will be lower due to no EM resistance.
But as a rough guideline, the HP/s gained is how much damage you can tank per second (because yes, if your HP is going up by that amount each second, than you can afford to lose that much HP per second. It will result in net zero.
Edit: and if I'm just telling you mostly things you already know, I'm sorry. I prefer not to assume how much a person knows about a game when giving advice. |
