Edited by: qztknmqmz on 07/12/2005 11:01:01 My config looks like this:
5 x Heavy Launcher IIs 2 x 250mm Scout I rails
1 x Large Shield Booster II 1 x 10mn AB II 1 x Kinetic Deflect Amp II 1 x Annointed I EM Ward 1 x Ditrigonal Thermal Barrier I
4 x PDU I (1 day before I swap in the IIs)
This gives me cap: 2246 / 331 sec rech, shield: 3509 / 585s Resists of: EM 60 (active), Exp: 68 (passive), Kinetic 70 (passive), Thermal 68 (active)
It's reasonable - it feels better than the passive tank I used to run (2 x LSE2's) because I can fit the large rails and kill faster...

I just checked the heavy launchers and have the following questions.
Why does the heavy launcher II need so many skills trained for the same performance and worse fitting specs than the arbalest?? Is it worth spending all the time training for HL II?

With the specialization skill you get an additional 2% faster ROF per level - so if you train to lvl 4 you'll be firing 8% faster than the arb.

well.. i think i will spend the time training t2 then. one mkre question: what turret is better for the ferox... the autocannon or the railgun? where is the difference? i still have 2 200mm autocannons from my past missions somewhere. could i use them or would it be better to buy 2 rails?

I assume you are setting up a missile ferox and are asking about the 2 last highslots? In that case I would really recommend Medium Beam Lasers (While it's named medium it's really a small laser).
Reason for this are several. First lasers have the best tracking of all guns, and as the purpose of the 2 extra guns are to kill small fast stuff tracking is very important. Second they have the highest damage per second of all guns if no ship bonuses are applied and ferox got no bonuses for any small guns.
Only downside with lasers are their high cap usage but you are using only 2 small guns on a battlecruiser, you won't even notice the cap usage here.
Autocannons have way too short range (1km base optimal + 4km falloff), most frigats orbit at 5-10km. If you don't want to use lasers I would recommend 125mm or 150mm rails.

Assume that frigs will orbit between 10k and 20k to avoid being webbed but still scramble you.

Rox rules, railguns all the way. I use
High 4x 250mm rails 2x Named heavy launchers 1x Assault launcher
Med 1x 10NM 1x Med Shield booster 2x Shield hardeners (change depending on what you're hunting) 1x Shield Ext.
Low 3x PDS's 1x Tracking Enhancer
I lost my first Rox pretty quickly , so built up the Engineering, gunnery, and Navigation skills. They are slow, but with the afterburner, you can pull away at over 300m/s and take out your targets from 40-50kms. 4 rails will handle most NPCs in 1 or two rallys, even without the heavy missiles. Use iridium ammo for distance, and antimatter for closer quaters, with the Assault launcher. I haven't even lost a sixth of my shields in any lvl 2 missions, in some lvl 3's I might go to 70%. Don't use lasers, the Rox's cap is ok, but best used in tanking; not to mention you're Caldari. Best go with the bonus you'll get.

No Passive shield tank set ups?
Post RMR
HI-- 5 heavy launchers, 2 small blasters MED-- 4 shield extenders, 1 shield charger T2 Low-- 4 shield relays(T2 when available)
over 50 shield per second regen depending on implants and shield engineering skills. level 3 absolutely no problems. don't forget 5 small drones for frigs destruction.
skills needed = missil skills, engineering shield skills and drones little.
by the way this pretty good pvp ship too. just put nuetralizers in 2 hi slots for good 1v1 pvp. otherwise great tank for gangs to take damage well. might use nos to try keep cap levels for warping...
only note is all passive setup = very low cap regen so don't do a lot of warping. and its slow with only impulse drives.
