The Rax Awsome and Very cheap to kit out, fully insured, great damage dealer !
BS are just to slow for Solo PVP, but put it a pack and you will make people cry !
I personally perfer Smaller faster ships, Iny, Af's less time watching the waiting for warp bar :-)

In my 2 man corp , we have been ganking in empire in Machriels (spelling ?), they are not really cheap ships but very good for piracy.
Also i like my vaga or tempest if im in 0.0.

But then, I am only a low SP alt and I love the challenge of taking bigger ships.
I'm not famous, nor infamous.

My Vindicator, it's a real pirate ship.
But then most of D.N.A had a love for our faction ships.

Can't beat it for belt piracy.
QFT....pirating the belt itself. Damn jet cans never respond to ransom requests.....
Actually he's right and its not hard =) Provided u get a lock first (90% of the time they dont see it comming anyway)...
It's even more dastardly than that - passive targeter + EW + scram + Badger MkII = the ultimate pirate sleeper ship .... and you can carry all the phat lewt.
\o/
...and, no-one ever comes after you. Who is going to tell their corpmates they just got pwn'd by an indy? ______________________________________________

Bombaphoon. Its messy and totally unelegant, but it gets the job done quick and can get away fairly quick.

for solo Pirating - Scorp all the way for me - soooo many options. A target that can't move, can't fire and has no cap is an easy one to ransom.

I think some of you guys are missing the point,
battleships and hac's are not cheap pirate ships

I use Cerb and very rarley Caracal. Don't really know why, but I get reasonable offence, reasonable defence, and can fit a couple of wcs (only playan hour or two a night belt hunting these days, can't afford to lose it).

Yes cheap refers to cheap ships of that class. Like tier 1 battleships.

Having started out flying minmatar ships I found good success using a stabber w/ autocannons for most small engagements.. but i found that those 10 seconds used up for reloading a bit annoying so I decided to try out Amarr ships.
Lately I have found the Crusader a wonderful ship for pirating. Using T2 pulses and a mwd allow me to get to the target quick and do great damage. Also it's a great complement to any team action as well. One of my corpmates and I were able to take out a ferox and a scorp in the same belt w/ just me in a Crusader and him in a Rupture with no problem at all.
Also the Crusader can solo bs spawns in 0.0 when you need some isk quick and don't want to work real hard for it, but the retribution w/ T2 medium pulses is actually better for just straight npc'ing imho. Used it to take down 5 750k Gurista ravens and 2 500k scorps in one 4 hour hunt just last week. Gotta love not having to reload :). Constant damage output is a nice feature.
Can't count how many times people have asked me in convo's "What were you using!?!". Probably because their shields and armor disintegrated so fast.
Granted it is still a skill intensive ship, but not so much as a good bs setup for sure. And for only around 9-11 mil for the ship and 4-6mill for mods it pays for itself rather fast and is much easier to replace.
