I am looking for (and seem unable to find) two fittings/builds for a Proteus which I would hope are close enough to each other to only require one set of sub systems. (1). A solo roam fitting, and (2). a Wormhole site runner.
(1). Whatever is generally considered the base build for such a need. Web/scramble/ With as little faction bling as possible.
(2). Ideally able to scan down the sites within a wm on its own and complete them. I understand the fittings for running combat vs hacking would be different so please suggest alternates for both.
I'd like to see a cloak on all fittings if possible.
Thank you. |

The 2 fits your are looking for are not even remotely similar. Also: http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/Gripen/EFT2.19.1.zip |

First off, let me say I wouldn't personally try to solo wormhole combat sites in a Proteus. I just don't think the Proteus is a good PvE ship. Medium rails are had, drones get murdered by sleepers, and blasters have no projection. This doesn't even go into what happens when you start getting neuted. You won't have much luck in combat sites in a Proteus. In sites where you're just hacking/analyzing, any fit will do as long as you have a prop and the modules. so you might as well use a generic cloaky gank Proteus and just swap the mids.
And even if sleepers didn't get hate-ons for drones, you can only get 4 sentries. You'd probably just be better off with an Ishtar or Dominix. Not trying to be a downer, I'm just trying to inform that it won't likely work.

+1
OP, nobody solos in w-space with a Proteus. Unless you count opportunistic C1/C2 anomalies which are frankly not worth the effort. Once you get to C3's you'll get webbed a lot, plus the spawns are often far apart meaning you spend more time burning fuel than burning rats. And don't go anywhere near C3 relic/data sites, which is where the isk starts to make it all worthwhile. The box said "Requires Windows-á2000 or better", so I installed Linux. |

Apart from living in a C2 for three years you mean?
The only reason to solo farm in a Prot is as bait. Otherwise, a ton of cheaper ships will do a better job. The box said "Requires Windows-á2000 or better", so I installed Linux. |

It is like saying "I am living in my mum's basement and, excuse me, I have build myself a bunker underneath it and know how to dig myself in!"
What ships do you suggest should the OP use? Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling. |

Say that you have been farming, mining or playing in a wormhole instead. What ships do you suggest should the OP use?
I fail to see how backing up comments with context after being challenged to do so is bragging.. but anyway - I used a Prot for solo/small gang farming in C3's until CCP reintroduced correct neuting from Sleepers (after they broke it) 2 years ago. Now you need a cap stable boat - 54% or thereabouts for C3 anoms, 60-65% for sites. The Legion is a far better boat for that.

Ok, let us backup a few moments. What can I use a Proteus for? I wanted it for solo pvp and for running sites in WH, but if thats not realistic, what is? |

The proteus is the best cloaky t3. Not very agile, but can field a crazy tank, has still decent (600 / hot 700ish) DPS with the covert sub. Use it for that. Now switch 2 subs (electronic, engineering) to get drones and an extended probe launcher (while still cloaky) instead of one gun. You still have 600ish dps and can go hunt. Use it for what it is good at - hunting. The only way to make isk with it is being patient and waiting for the noctis to come in and salvage the combat site. |

Do you have a non EFT warrior fit for something like this? |

Just the fit. Stats: 100kEHP without slaves, 123k EHP with LG slaves (without omega) 650 DPS with 3% gun implant, 5% medium hybrids
WH fit: -get the electr. sub with the scan bonus -engineering sub with drones -one gun out, probe launcher in
changes from the screenshot: -use meta 4 1600 plate (otherwise won't fit with the mwd after eng. sub replaced) -faction/meta MWD |

WH fit: -get the electr. sub with the scan bonus -engineering sub with drones -one gun out, probe launcher in -you loose the scram/point range bonus
changes from the screenshot: -use meta 4 1600 plate (otherwise won't fit with the mwd after eng. sub replaced) -faction/meta MWD -get a scrambler with a strenght of 3
And yes, i have flown this fit several times. For WHs you need a way to rep yourself and you need nanite paste for the mwd/scram cause it will be always overheated.
Thanks, I'll look into this fit. May I ask which sub systems it is using as their not included in the screenshoot of EFT |
