Since this is not an official CCP thing but player-made, the answer is: No, but feel free to make one

even though this is done by players for players we bring serious resources to the table to pull off and event of this caliber...
the facilities for the small conference on the 16th and locking down the Rainbow Bar & Grill are no mere players throwing a party at there home...
also we plan to have ALOT of things we are giving away...
for example:
person coming from farthest away will win something VERY NICE...
most representative's from one corp will also win a prize and so on....
we have some top notch things planned...
this is a little more then some casual player gathering...
webhosting alone would pay for a year of eve...LOL
This event is for EVERYONE from all the players to all the devs and fans worldwide...taking place in the entertainment capitol of the world....
Think of this...
You and your friends and Kieron/CCP dignitaries and the Ladies of EvE all in one photo:):).....
you can cross out everyone but the ladies in the photo...unless your a lady and then you cross out the girls...

hey there are a few of us SNIGG guys that live here in Las Vegas. I for one will give a hand if you need some help. I will send you a mail in game.
After the new year the internet radio station I work at here will be having the video game show about eve-online I posted about a while ago. If you want we could even do live remotes during the day there. We have some daily shows during the week, but when they are not on we should be able to fill the empty timeslots with live remote feeds.
If its on the weekend we can broadcast nearly all day.
I was going to debute the eve talk show this month but it just wasn't looking good enough. I want the best we can put out and it wasn't quite there yet. If I half arsed it i would feel pretty bad about letting anyone see or hear it. |

Well hot damn, I was just in Vegas last weekend...been down 6 times in last 2 years. I live in Northern Utah, so it's only about 6 hours away. I may be able to accomodate 8-10 people down there for probably $5 a night each, but won't know for sure unitl Jan/Feb.
In talking with Blackhole Bob in the past in Help channel, I don't expect this thing to be anything less than freakin' awesome! :) You still doing things for the clubs down there?

This is great, except that the 15th and 16th is a Wednesday/Thursday, so unless you 1) aren't committed to school/work, or 2) are on spring break/vacation, you're SOL.

I was in Vegas for an EQ Fan Faire at the Las Vegas Hilton, staying at the Stratosphere Hotel. So a little advanced review...traveller's notes in no particular order.
1. Las Vegas Hilton has a Star Trek themed attraction with gift area, exhibits, 2 rides and Quark's Bar. Not to be missed.
2. Stratosphere has a famous observation deck with an amazing view of Las Vegas. Check it out twice, once in the day, and definitely at night.
3. It's the desert. It will be hot during the day, and chilly at night. All that concrete retains heat but it can get cold.
4. Smoke is hard to avoid. Gamblers smoke. A lot.
5. Walk down the Las Vegas Strip at night, it's really quite a sight. Be sure to linger long enough to see the fountain in front of Bellagio, which is orchestrated to music and featured on many shows about LV.
6. Understand that on the Strip (anywhere else too) explicit materials advertizing various "services" will be openly displayed on racks and handed to you by small children.
7. Take a day trip to visit nearby Hoover Dam. Take the dam tour. See the dam film. Get a dam souvenir. Drive your friends nuts with jokes involving the word "dam."
8. Take in a show. The hotels feature everything from Renaissance dinner theatre (Camelot) to Blue Man Troop and Circ de Soleil.
9. Decide if you want to gamble, if so decide how much you will be gambling and stick to it. Have fun, but don't go nuts. The odds really are with the house, you will lose your money. Count on it. Decide ahead of time to have fun losing X amount of money, and be pleasantly surprised if even part of your gambling budget is left. Understand the whole city is a well-oiled machine devised specifically to separate you from your money. BE AWARE of this. There's plenty to do in Vegas besides gambling.
10. You will learn to hate this noise...CHING-CHING-CHING-CHING-CLANG-CLANG-WHOOP-WHOOP-DING-DING-DING-CHING-CHING-CHING-CHING...it greets you at the airport and will ring in your ears long after you have left.
11. There is no such thing as a free room upgrade. The check-in clerk is trained to make it sound like it won't cost extra, but he is a liar. Stick to your reservation at all costs.

Edited by: Kraven Kor on 14/12/2005 17:36:51 I'm friends with a band who I'm sure would LOVE to play there. I think a band and DJ would be awesome, give a little bit to the rockers and the ravers in the crowd.
The band is Madahoochi, and they have some Sci-Fi based stuff as well as their "techno jams" where the band segways from one of their songs into some really sweet electronica.
Ode to Tito: Words from memory and likely incorrect Scott Rockwood
Look to the sky mom to see all the rich people Floating in front of the moon Their muscles have atrophied Their bones have decalcified They're globulous masses of flesh
They'll never know rain and they'll never know snow They'll never sit in traffic on a cloudy day They'll never know summertime never know night! They'll never know you and they'll never know me We are just ants to our brothers in the sky Who once upon a time flew away to be raised in the stars
Look to the sky mom to see all the rich people Floating in front of the moon
Look out their windows and see our world As we never will see They watch it day after day as its spinning like a clock Measuring the lengths of their days A picturesque world they can never return to for fear of being crushed by the weight of our sun
If you would be at all interested in having a band play at this event, let me know and I'll see if they would be interested.

LOL they practically won't let you walk away without taking one. The one time I was there, if you try to ignore them and keep walking, they'll walk with you holding the card out and flipping it and shaking it. I wanted to punch them, and I'm not even offended by such things.
