I will be there.
A few questions:
Anyone from southern California going? (specifically San Diego or north of there)
How far is the Sahara hotel from the base hotel and convention center? ------------------------------------------------------------

I'd guesstimate the Sahara is about 3 or 4 miles away from the hard rock, but there is a monorail that can take you within about a mile or so of the HardRock if my memory serves me correctly.

Erik:
The Sahara is not super far but you have options...although the mono-rail is great it doesnt go right to the hard rock....
but it is not to far...you could grab the mono-rail and get off and walk about 5-10 minutes and be there...but you can easily catch a cab for under 10 bux, maybe 15, with tips if the sahara is your choice...
let me know if you have more questions...i hope you can make it.
we finally got our paperwork and all that stuff in order to have online sales fly...just a day or so away from live online tickets sales...(whew!)
we also have some new and exciting big news to launch with it...
our next big push to inform everyone will be grand...
including:
full event address for all facilities recommended close hotels and accomodations more prizes being added to the prize list online ticket sales map of event area and more....
stay tuned!

I see that the Hard rock is basically booked the day of the event unless you have lots of cash.
What are the next 3 closest casinos with rooms by the Hard Rock Casino or the Rainbow Bar? I went online using the Hard Rock address trying to find a close casino but the casinos are so big its hard to tell what is close to the event and what is far away. Do you think someone could post the 3 nearest casinos to the event so that I can look into room costs. I would like to be somewhat within walking distance to the event so Im not hamered trying to find the monorail or a cab. :)

Your email confirmation is the ticket till you arrive.
The actual ticket will be given to you when you check in on the 15th or upon your arrival the 16th if you don't check in on the 15th
The ticket looks just like the picture on the STORES transaction and purchase section.
You must bring the e-mail confirmation and/or the credit card you purchased your ticket(s) with to the event to gain access along with ID.
If you have any questions please use our contact information on the website to e-mail or call us with any questions you may have.

I live in Las Vegas, and I was looking forward to coming to this.
I went to buy tickets tonight and I was expecting tickets to be between $20 and $30 each...
Uh... $130?
Are you serious?
For what it would cost me and my wife to go to this I could get 2 tickets to Cirque De Soulei and a nice dinner on the strip...
What exactly would I be getting for $260?
I was really looking forward to going to this, but that ticket price is just insane.

we kept the price as low as possible and still be able to do this event...
two meals prizes facilities rentals costume cost for the ladies of eve website hosting my guys gotta get paid (they dont work real life jobs for free because they like eve) processing fees for credit cards security cost the broadband cost to have two online eve radio stations broadcasting welcome package cost
I could keep going on and on...
event management in las vegas is not cheap...
we dont have a WHOLE casino to get your money after you go see a show on the strip...
most shows are loss leaders or barely pay for themselves on the strip....
i welcome ANYONE to pull off what we have for less and do all we have..
Besides...I personally am not making a DIME myself off this and have HUNDREDS of hours now invested for months.
If I was out to make money I would cancel this event yesterday.

Sorry but have to ask. What about drinks?
I think $130.00 is VERY reasonable for this type of event. 2 meals, prizes, closed party. Way cheaper then going to Iceland. Which I do want to to do, maybe I'll make the next FanFest. But since this one is only 6 hours from my house I can't pass it up.
I tip well since I know NO ONE works for free!! LOL!!11!! Just have 2% milk, real Kuala and Sky vodka on hand and I will be happy.
PS after my 10th white russian please don't let me drive back to the hotel. LOL
Proud memmber of the 2

Bob, don't get me wrong. I was not trying to discount your efforts or put the event down in any way.
I was just saying that the cost is prohibitory to casual players/attendees. I suppose if I was a hard core EVE player, rather than a casual one, I might have a different POV.
I encourage others to attend, I am sure it will be a blast!
I just plain can't afford it... Young military family and all :)
Again, I did NOT mean to come off discounting your work or the work of others... if it came off that way I appologize.
