I am not a total anti-monarchist, but I do believe we should go for a very much slimmed down and more in tune with the 21 centaury monarch. Something along the lines of the Dutch, Danish, or Norwegian models of monarchy.
Im also against the monarchy but I must say Oliver Cromwell was a raving loony who is not respected outside of england and wales. I must remind you he was the man who led the English conquests to take Ireland and he was turning his sites on Scotland when England had its little rebellion in the 1650s
The french had the right idea but please do not quote the ravings of a madman towards a cause I support :D.
Also the numbers used in that youtube video are extremely inflated im no t saying the monarchy arnt financially positive but they are not nearly as profitable as that video suggests.
But hey! They should call the kid Muhammad just to confuse the scum at the Daily Mail |

I see you didn't watch the video I linked. If you did, you would know that the profit from their vast tracks of lands goes to the UK government, not to increase the wealth of the Royal family. Then the UK government pays them less than than the profits from those lands. End that arrangement and the amount the UK government has to spend goes down, unless they raise taxes for everybody.
But you make it sound like the other systems have the king or queen paid from taxes, with no money flowing from their properties to the government. Meaning that if that arrangement is ended, those governments have more money to spend. |

The Georgian era was good for us, as has been our current Elizabethan. If it was a girl I would have hoped for Victoria, though an Edward would be amusing.... especialy with a data Corgie... 
Anyone else thinm Charles is going to be a spot crap given his involvement in political matters? Might be better if the throne went straight to William. Which reminds me, will Kensington take over the role of Buckingham when the crown is passed on?

To be fair, he speaks a lot of sense and its a very hard act to follow. The queen and the duke are probably the most liked world leaders in history. |

The meaning of the word has changed somewhat since its inception in the UK, currently means in favour maintaining the current Constitutional Monarchy we have instead of Republicanism.
Though if we go independent, we might end up as the Republic of Scotland, much like Ireland did.
