At the end of the day CCP are doing this work to make the game better. They won't just taske down the servers for fun. No doubt they have to check, double check, and triple check that there is no work around before shutting down a server. Would you prefer to suffer 24 hours DT every 4-6 months, or have a game sit there and get stagnant whilst all other MMO's catch up, better it?
and why r they doing it to make it better because its financially beneficial for them to do so. As is keeping customers happy.

well i wouldn't expect any comp for the day they said the server will be down for the update, since they did give us ample warning, but the random "opps reboots" since are getting old.. but hey that is only my opinion..

As for me I do not need any compensation.. CCP does their job very well even they do something bad "bugs, fonts, useless improvements etc." So, I suggest everybody go somewhere else that sit at computer and clicking buttons :)

I would settle for ISK compensation, wouldn't cost CCP anything so they can go forth and do great YARRRWARE things.
But seriously, it's in their best interest to have a stable and lag free game. Because they know ultimately players vote with their wallet. Can't Play, they won't pay.

If you're talking about ingame compensation, that's even stupider. The economy is already fairly borked ATM, by giving people free money or ships etc, you're messing around with the player control even more.

Those of you whining about compesnation do not deserve to play this game. I'm quite sure none of you appreciate what lengths CCP are probably doing to try and make this game playable for us and I'm just as sure you have no understanding of how unpredictable or complex computers can be especially when they go wrong. You think you're worried about your data when your Hard Drive starts to die, imagine how worried CCP are when their stuff doesn't work right and tens of thousands of people depend on you. Much pressure?

I don't really think the player base deserves compensation, the way they treat CCP.
Devs, work out how much two days of downtime/laggy play would be worth (say 2/30 of $15 a month, so $1 each, x80 000 accounts = $80k). Spend it on yourselves and not on us ungrateful ****ers, its about time you did.

maybe ccp should have charged 29.99 for the content patch and then credit you for 5 days of downtime. lol I think I like the way its happening right now.....free content patch with some downtime for tweeking. NO big deal in the end the new content patch will be awesome.

what is with the world and compensation these days. i lost 5 hours of play time i demand compensation, i tripped over my own child in your shop i want money.
Why dont you all just give it a brake, CCP have implemented a full overhaul of most of they code and have not had time to test it on 19000 playes yet, if you all could be bothered to log into the test server and help find bugs maybe we wouldnt have so many bugs.
The test server has been running RMR for a few weeks now so nobody should be moaning about anything there has been plenty of time to go and try everything out and help find all the bugs.
EVERYONE JUST STFU AND GIVE IT A WEEK
p.s. if you are on a trial account just start a new trial account and spend 14days in RMR to see if you like the game

Folks get this into perspective.
lets say you have a telephone service that went down for an extended period of time wouldnt you be pi33ed and demand some form of compensation as a result? Im neither for nor against compensation in this game but open to see how this fans out. Dam well right to expect compensation for downtime on your phone service because you pay for the service so how does it differ here? You might argue that a phone is not a game and you would be correct but you enter into an agreement to pay for both and expect a SLA (service level agreement) in return. If this is breeched then compensation is on the cards in whatever format is agreed.
The amount of downtime is beginning to get annoying. Its not like "downtime" is 10 minutes its on average 60-80 minutes at a time. Last night that i know off twice and once this evening. (im in the UK)
I really do enjoy playing eve - it really annoys the wife so its even more enjoyable and this expansion has screwed up my drones and i have moaned about it to corp members.
In terms of the expansion it has to free because there is only 1 shard. Depending upon how system patches/expansions RMR would have to be compulsory and they cannot force you to pay for something you dont want it is in breech of all retailing law.
Thats my two bobs worth.

i agree 100% with that.. ccp are doing everything they can do to get RMR 100% right.. it's a huge patch not just a simple tweek there and here.. it's all new stuff added.. courses theres gonna be conflicts just get over it sheeeesh
go get yaself some milk and cookies as compensation if u really feel u need it.. when it doesnt cost u hardly anything per hour of dt out of your subsciption.. if u was paying 2000 dollars amonth then i'd understand u wanting compensation but comeon seriously.. it's like 12.95[i can't remember exactly]

no u dont - u pay for the game u purchased. ccp are under no obligation to provide any new content in return for your monthly subscription. many other games charge the same monthly subscription but still expect u to pay for any major content update.
i would suggest u get your facts right before calling people numpties.
