TiDi saved this fight, and is the only reason we could have a fight that epic. The 20+ minutes it was taking me to lock with my oneiros is an acceptable price to pay to be able to do something that great. Inappropriate signature removed, CCP Phantom. |

personally i think an EVE account should be required as supplementary schooling material for all children age 12 and older (ya know, to teach them how the world REALLY works, instead fo this "oh everyone who tries wins" BS).
it would be like oregon trail, only instead of losing everyone to dysentry, its goons ganking more ice belts. |

Yep, lets use an example.
Sansha live event in Yulai: All I could do was look at the screen and wait for my right click options to come up and warp around wait for the client to crash.
Battle of Asakai: Got into the system with a covert, warped 100km off someone in fleet and landed 15km off the group of [CONDI] logi.
TiDi can be a pain if you aren't use to it, but if you get use to it I'm sure its better than staring at a frozen client. |

a fight that epic 20 minutes to lock a target choose one.
The way derps get impressed by numbers and are prepared to toss quality for quantity is kinda tragic. Now when a bunch of WH dwellers drop into null in faction cruisers, logi, ecm and a couple T3s, get stuck in a dead end pipe and decide to fight their way out, that makes a 40 v 40ish fight epic. Blobs, meta, tidi and game crushing crowds? You HAVE to be some kind of masochist.

Blobs, meta, tidi and game crushing crowds? You HAVE to be some kind of masochist. What you describe can certainly be an interesting and entertaining fight, but there is nothing epic about it. It falls in the standard multiplayer fight category, that pretty much every current online game can boast about, but doesn't actually boast, because there isn't anything noteworthy about such fights. |

All kidding aside, I seriously hope not.
Maybe it's just me but I've made a few rounds around news and mmo news sites and the comments by people who play MMOs but have never played EVE and hate sandboxes are...interesting....
. I think people get spoiled at the actual quality of EVE players (General discussion forum notwithstanding lol). Seeing how....different other MMO players are reinforces my belief that EVE is an evolving game with steady/moderate growth is the best thing.
In other words, I just would hate it if to many of those dimwitted nimrods in other games (commenting on those sites asking "does EVE have good raiding content....) popped up in New Eden.

Yeah i was there, burnt about 1.5 bil in ships since the start of this war. Bomber gangs, fun, naga whelps, depends. Flying logi is more demanding than being dps No.2384. Ultra blob tidi just doesn't do anything for me. Ads show cinematic situations where one person is relevant in a context of multitudes, i yawn. Been hitting towers and sbus for weeks and it's been something else entirely but the bottom line is: these so-called epic battles bore me. Oh and the small gang stuff can be epic due to more scope for character to play a part, rather than mere volume. Badasses that choose to charge through slaughter, lame cloakers who log off when trapped, they will stay in my memory longer than any EPIC BATTELzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*facedesk

Roaming gangs and 50+dudes fleets are so more interesting, fun rewarding and instructive, plus 99.9% of those you can actually play in "normal" conditions.
Some people hare are not making the difference in between "TiDi made it possible" which is an absolute truth, and how fun such fight is under these conditions. Not being able to do anything or stay stuck in some warp tunnel for 20min instead of black screen is awesome for the editor to keep players log in, which is a nice addition, for me as player I have no interest on sitting at the desk and watch a never ending warp tunnel for 20min to listen dudes blahblahing tons of crap jokes about jews germans and whatnot stupidity while waiting grid to load. Playing 20min of any other game will bring me more fun doing things than looking at a screen where nothing happens or everything happens with such delay, it's a waste of my time. *removed inappropriate ASCII art signature* - CCP Eterne |

You hit on one of my pet peeves. I hate that too. I've been in huge fleet flights pre and post TiDi and I've enjoyed them for the most part. My 1st Day in Raiden i found myself in a low sec battle and got my name on 70+ killmails (2 solo kills, top damage or final blow on 6 or 7 others).
I know people who play other games , they come to work and ask me why I play EVE Online "when it's so unfun". So I explain (the bloody obvious) that what's fun for me and what's fun for them are different things. Then I get IN EVE and have gotten the same things from actual EVE players (ie "why are you doing so much ratting, aren't you rich by now?", or "don't you get tired of exploring, come kill real people with me" lol).
Frankly, it's a bit annoying that some people can't grasp the idea that fun subjective.
