Does CCP favor Caldari and dislike Gallente? It just seems like Caldari is so much better in PVE than the other races and Gallente is so much worse at....pretty much everything. They keep gimping hybrids and drones which only makes Gallente that much weaker. I've been to Jita twice since coming back to EVE and I've seen very few Gallente ships..in fact I haven't seen a single Dom or Myrm, and that's NEVER happened before. It tells me that people could be starting to give up on Gallente. |

If you have been to Jita and have not seen a single Dominix or Myrmidon on the market, that only means that people are buying them like crazy.
Now there might be a way to profit out of that, you will figure it out.

I too have never seen a Dominix.. not even once on the way to Jita!
Should buff hybrids to make the Dominix and Myrmidon exceptional again. |

It's not so much that they prefer one faction over another for the purpose of shooting red crosses, it's just that they couldn't care less about PvE to begin with.

Since when are Caldari best for PvE? I mean Tengus are alright, but as a faction they don;t exactly have the full compliment of ships. Missiles truly suck nowadays. Drakes used to be the thing for PvE, OK damage, good defense. Now they are as big as a battleship, slow as an Exhumer and by the time your first volley of missiles hit, a hurricane could have ripped the enemy to pieces.
Here's an example of the difference at the low end. I started 2 new characters, 1 Caldari, and 1 Minmatar. I was working up their standing so I did the SOE epic. Each char had about a week of combat training in their race. I did the caldari chars epic first. Now I've done the epic many times, so I took a destroyer which usually does the trick. By on of the last missions, I couldn't break the enemy tank with missiles. I had to send the other character over ins a slasher (A SLASHER!) to help out and she dusted the enemy off in no time.
Caldari are not only a pain to use in PvE, but because missile skills only affect missiles, all of the Caldari training is wasted time if you later choose to switch factions. Whereas all the others share gunnery skills, so you only lose time on the weapon specific skills.
Gellente are not too bad in PvE, but you need to fit right and use the right tactics. Gallente tend to excel more in PvP. A Dual Dominix setup however is a highly effective PvE setup, and there are others that can be good.
Oh, and Jita is Caldari central, so you are more likely to see Caldari ships there. Try Dodixie.

CCP seems to like Minmatar very much - I literally can't think of anything bad about them.
Amarr on the other hand constantly get the shaft - woman emperor who didn't respect the succession trials and who has some "humanitarian" agenda about freeing slaves. Can't disrespect Amarr culture much more than that.
But with regards to ships - the flavor of the month comes and goes. |

The Majority of players, spends their time in Caldari space, in Caldari space, Caldari ships are best ( they are kinda build to deal with the environment they are made in ).
For example, the rats in Caldari space, most of all HATE taking Kinetic damage and Kinetic damage is what most Caldari ships have bonus towards.
Now seriously, have a look at the following match-up.
Blaster fitted Proteus vs missile Tengu.
Who wins most likely?
Hint, the Proteus will **** the Tengu, all things being equal.

But with regards to ships - the flavor of the month comes and goes.
The Loki, it is a great ship in its fleet roles and fulfills a few niches, but straight up mano a mano PvP, that thing is REALLY hard to fit, it just does not have the powergrid to make a tank comparable to the Proteus, Tengu OR Legion ( that thing is WICKED good in terms of tank ).

With remaps it really doesn't matter any more. Unless you're talking about the first week or two on a brand new character only. |

See for proof the completely ineffectual HAC changes (Eagle still doesn't know what it's doing, railguns confirmed for worse off than before due to upcoming tracking nerf), the lack of effort put into Command Ships (Especially Caldari- again, the weakest faction going in, weakest faction coming out. Issues with the Drake and it's kinetic damage exclusivity are inherited by the Nighthawk, it's slot layout is utter trash, it barely knows what it's doing), the mangling of the Raven into a role that is ALMOST useful but then STILL eclipsed by the Typhoon (lol status quo)...
Though unusually, Caldari frigates and T1 cruisers aren't all that bad. |

Well they got busted for cheating in their own game a couple times, nearly caused a revolt by going pay-to-win, have managed to break game balance over and over, can't seem to fix 8-yr old bugs, etc. From what I've read and seen myself, their hardly the top of the heap in MMO design and support.
Actually you may be onto something. It wouldn't shock me if most of the devs played Caldari when the game first started. Would explain a lot. |

CCP loves winmatar, the most primitive race is the best at everything. Caldari regularly get the shaft, gallente has had some love thanks to CCP employing a gallente dev. Amarr are really unloved and now are reluctantly being looked at only in response to 300+ page in the features and ideas section.
