Not only is it mildly irritating that items are locked automaticly when you throw them into station containers, but when things are somewhat laggy like tonight it also takes a few seconds for the right mouse click command to show up.
So in that regard can we please have an option to throw items in station containers without them being locked!
Please! /me goes on knees, begs eve devs.

I somewhat agree.
However I am compelled to ask if you guys know you can right click, select all, and then right click and unlock all the items at once?

Select All -> Unlock, but yeah, it's annoying waiting for everything to unlock.
CCP has even knows it. They've added the word BIGSHOT to the URL of my avatar. |

Yes I am aware =)
But I am convinced this extra action 1000's of people are taking every 5 seconds is causing extra lag! and world hunger, and stressed hamsters.
So many reasons to solve this ehm issue once and for all!

Right, and if you add some items to a container and select all, right-click it'll take forever to give you the popup menu. Takes a lot longer than 5s quite often.
I really wish there was a way to specify if I want items locked or not by default when I add them. :-/ |

Being able to lock items in a can is a wonderful feature, please keep it.
However....
Please get rid of the "auto-lock" that happens when you drop something into a station container. The only locking that should happen is manual locking.
Manual Locking = good
Auto-Locking = bad

Lockable items good. Automatically locked items, not so good. A toggle on the can would be ideal.

or just add another can option to auto-lock the items. I was honestly surprised when i couldnt shut it off, i like to keep my loot AWAY from the rest of my stuff so i know whats important and what i need to shift through....now i simply have to sit there and unlock stuff...and locked stuff wont stack witn unlocked etc... its really annoying :/

Oh yes. First thing I do Every Single Time I Put Something In, is to Select All, then Unlock All. Surely that creates lots of additional load on the DB?! I just don't like things being locked. I want to stack things up. I can't do that when all the new items are auto-locked.

I will add my signature to this, but I think the real fix would be to give us folders into which to sort our stuff, then we would not have to (ab)use station cans for just sorting things. And preferably these folders would be searchable in the assets...

Yup only way i can unlock stuff right now is to do a few a time, if i try selecting everything the right-click menu shuffles its feet and refuses to appear at all
