Retribution - hands down.
Best small tank, speed is a nonfactor, as is the need to scramble. Being a frigate it gets MASSIVE reduction in damage from larger ships. Lot's of lows for resists/heatsinks/reppers.
No need for ammo.
It's inexpensive since it's largely not useful for pvp, and the lack of mids isn't a problem for PvE. At least it's good for something.

retribution is good and made even better with the new armour skills (befor i needed n-type hardeners for cpu reasons) the problem is if you get webbed you are screwed, but they can still take a decent ammount of damage.
They also cost (or at leas did) 10mil less than a harpy and you dont need a gistii shield booster to make them tank well.

I rat in a retribution. I've successfully hunted Serpentis, Sansha's and Guristas BS in it. As someone else said, keep your speed up, get in close, keep your transversal up and take it to them. Retribution works well because it doesn't require you to reload ammo and tanks like mad.

I have a similar setup in the caracal. You can hit 80km with Missile Projection, Missile Bombardment and Caldari Cruiser at 3 in a caracal.
I'm usually fighting sansha's and even with the kinetic damage bonus I still do more damage per missile against a sansha bs using EM missiles.
I use a mix of kinetic and em against everything else in 0.0.

Edited by: Brep on 21/12/2005 03:54:09 You don't even need a tank with an Enyo. They simply can't hit you. Frigs die as soon as they get in range and cruisers only do minimal damage on the rare occasions they land a hit. Killing BS is just cruel, as they don't stand a chance :)
125mm rails work well - the range gets the tacklers dead quickly and they can easily break any belt BS tank. Ions are nicer as they drop the BS way quicker and hence save ammo. They can also take whole spawns without reloading thanks to their 120 capacity. The only problem is chasing down intys. I use ions not neuts so I can fit web and std launcher to help with intys. More room for dmg mods too, so damage is roughly the same. I get into armor with ions due to my short range (more chasing), but with 125mm rails I swear I could drop the repper for something else.
oh and a dude in a thorax does very well for himself out in the system I hunt in.

Wow thanks for the tips guys
Ill be fighting Sanshas so evidently thermal tank or so i was told
Caracel set up looks the most promising. Price and skill wise.
I see alot of you mentioned AF's but not caldari ones.
Cald AF's not up to the task for some reason? ------------------------------------------- Aye Spellcheck is beyond me along with propper grammer. |

You could very likely do alot of 0.0 spawns with tier 3 frigates.

Well set up AFs happily take BS spawns. Dont know about after patch, but cant imagine it would be much different with some well thought out setups.

Hrpy with blasters can kill angel BSs (certainly general, warlord and the other small value one... dont think I have tried Seraphim or officers in it). Think is this used to be tricky with all the intys so one had to go for 150IIs and lose some ability against BS (still could take down at least the two smaller value ones with reload)... since RMR less intys and more ... desys escorting BSs (desys npc are as much of a joke as desys pc as I have said before).
Angels are super tanked against kinetic btw and somewhat tanked against thremal too so if Harpy can take these I have no concern about it taking gur. serps etc much easier after the RMR res. readjustments especially.
As for bloods and sanshas you d need 2 EM hards or even 2 EM passives with the new skills maxed...
Of course with Eagle - Cerb post RMR is almosr afk killing

Punisher setup as a mini-retribution maybe?
Ratted just fine in Crusaders. And post-RMR i think i remember being webbed...once.

Small ships are too much micromanagement for me, apoc semiafk works great :)
But if i would bother, id use retribution.
And heavy missiles can go much further than 86km with ok skills, lvl 4 i reckon and fe ballistic controls. ----------------------
