It isn't just that when I played in beta I noticed people were always slamming TTI. The pirate deal is just the reason of the moment. People shouldn't waste so much energy on TTI they get their jollies being the flavor of the month every month!

Quote: Calladen: Don't get too demoralized by the hate everyone seems to have for you -- you put yourself in that position, and no question.
On which side of the fence would you sit if you encountered Venal members fighting pirate corps outside of venal space such as jokers, mega, m00 etc?
I've been unlucky enough to have been caught in the crossfire when venal members went on the hunt for jokers. However if I ever meet venal members in the future (aside from the obvious pirate corps, Space invaders etc) I will help them all I can, as their corps have helped me when I was hunted by Jokers corp.
Members of the Venal Alliance are very much in a grey area, many corporations dislike them because of their known assosication with pirate corporations, however I've learn't through experience that so long as you stay out of venal space, then you only have the real pirate corporations to fear.
I don't know why everyone is so anti TTI either, I've had no problem with them and have flown past their ships on many occasions.

I realize you guys are big bad corps with attitudes, but would you mind checking your targets? I just happened to be traveling through space when this war seemed to wrap itself around me and two of my mining mates. Ships just started firing at anyone they didn't recognize. With 10 of your allied ships around, you think you could hail at passing ships to see what their intentions are before opening up on an innocent EVE players who aren't into this little quarrel? At least give us the option to turn back b4 blowing up our hard earned work.

Edited by: Calladen Nimitz on 24/08/2003 21:56:26 Lucas,
Which system were you in and which TTI members were present?
I'm not aware of any operations outside Venal at all yesterday.
"I realize you guys are big bad corps with attitudes"
Actually we have no attitude. We just want to be left alone. As you've seen on the fourms here attacking us is a favorite pasttime of many. Perhaps you should ask yourself "why" they are attacking us when we pretty much mind our own business and just want to be left alone.

Thurfur,
"You're receiving all this hate and dread because you've thrown in with pirates to protect your ore, and those pirates, via associating with you, are ruining your reputation.
It isn't that. People were ragging on us back in beta too. I've yet to figure it out. To be honest the expression "SHEEP" seems to apply to about 90% of the Eve community. Someone reads somewhere TTI had an NAP with m0o and suddenly we're allies, we provide them ships, all these stories. Now its the VA, we live with pirates so we must be pirates, enough is enough already. If we left Venal today there would STILL be this constant anti-tti garbage. My only question is WHY?
Anyone with a factual answer is welcome to reply. I'd like to see something with some evidence attached.
Thanks,
Calladen

I am still fairly new to EVE and don't know all the in's and out's of how to pull records n such as proof, but here is what I do know. I was escorting a pair of my mining friends (of different corps) who were in Indy's. I was in my (nicely equipped) Thorax waiting at gate for them to arrive. Draconian appeared next to me in a battleship, followed shortly by at least 10 other ships. I tried making contact with them on the local channel, but no response. Draconian opened fire upon the two indy's I was escorting and I was forced to act. My actions were enough to distract the team from the indy's long enough for them to escape, but at the cost of my Thorax. I was able to PM him later and he informed me then that they were instructed not to let anyone pass into the Venal region. Well, as we were in EC-P8R headed the Pure Blind region, I have no idea why we were attacked so far from the Venal Region. Draconian is a member of the Ocassus Republica Corp and a member of the Venal Alliance. If they are claiming that TTI is the aggressor here, as a victim in this battle, I am questioning their character!

Lucas,
If you'll check back further in this thread you'll see I've already stated TTI does not operate blockades outside Venal. Venal is soverign territory and it is defended. As you were unable to supply any other names of members present I can't ascertain if it was indeed TTI ships or someone elses.

First off, I was not suggesting that TTI was the one calling for the blockade, I was making a plea for both sides to check their targets. However, your response makes no sense to me. I am not sure how you expect me to supply the list of members who were all present at the gate in the 60 seconds that the whole event transpired under fire. Next you'll be asking for ship makes and license plate numbers. If you are after who was responsible for the blockade, it's whoever is partnered up with the Ocassus Republica Corp, all ships in the sector were of that corp. I am certain that an individual that is familiar with the corps in the area and the politics therein, should have no problems putting 2 and 2 together.
