Evesterdam - Amsterdam Eve Online and Dust meetup
When: October 12th, 14:00
Where: A bar in Amsterdam (exact bar to be announced)
Even though there are a LOT of Dutch Eve Online players, it's been years since we had our own meetup. Inspired by CCP Navigator's talk on player gatherings during the Alliance Tournament I have decided to change that and organise Evesterdam!
We'll be taking over a bar for most of the day starting at 14:00 and settle down to swap stories, share some drinks and put a face to the people you may have encountered in Eve Online or Dust 514. Bring a friend, bring your corp or just come by yourself and meet people here - it's all good!

If you're planning to come, please post your attendance in this thread and/or on the Facebook event so we can get an impression of how many people to expect. That way we'll be able to make sure we pick a venue that can hold all of us!

Unfortunately I can only organise it in Amsterdam (plus, it wouldn't be Evesterdam anymore). But if/when we do future meets I can keep it in mind. :)

I'm happy to announce that the location of Evesterdam is caf+¬ het Schuim on the spuistraat. It's just behind the royal palace on Dam square, so very central and very easy to get to from central station.

Any hostels in the center should be sufficiently close (5-15 minute walk), and there should be loads available.
I've heard decent things about these hostels but have no personal experience:

Looks like it'll be an awesome turnout, guys and girls! I think the bar is big enough... just :P
There is parking in Amsterdam (closest is probably the Q-park Bijenkort or de Kolk) but as I understand it can be quite pricy. You may also be able to park outside the center cheaper and then just use the tram or metro to get to the center.

Good news everyone!
I've just talked to CCP Gargant, who is joining us in Amsterdam, and I found out that he's bringing a pile of Eve goodies to hand out Evesterdam, including (but not limited to) Eve soundtracks, Fuzzy Eve hats and an Art of Eve book! So he's kind of an Icelandic space Sinterklaas!
We'll be working out a system so everyone who attends has a fair chance at getting one of the prizes. Hopefully we'll see you guys in ten days!

Could only attend for a few hours, bit I can't recall a situation where I learned so much in so little time. Amazing, what a game EVE is. So many people, some many strategies to survive in the vastness of New Eden.
Met a lot of nice guys, with one thing in common: there is no mercy. And you need buddies to survive, that's for sure.
If we, the dutch-speaking, could somehow unite, I'm sure we could establish a kingdom. 
Hope to meet you out there between the stars. And please don't shoot, I'm wearing a orange flag.
