Originally by: missusblonde with its 25% bonuse to all armor resists, the absolution will have better all around resists than a zealot, apart from explosive, where it will only be 2.5% lower, add a couple of corpum a-type nanos with the passive skills onto this, and we are talking some insane resists, explosive up to 90% and the like, these things are going to be beasts.
And it's going to die right quick when someone's got it jammed, NOSed, scrambled, and swarmed, which is what we're going to be seeing with these Recon Cruisers.
That's why Com Ships aren't going to be the be all end all of the new warfare. ____________________ I'm not an idiot; I just play one on the forums. |

Check out the new Recon cruisers. They are capable of doing that level of lock down solo. ____________________ I'm not an idiot; I just play one on the forums. |

tell me, so you go around in every ship auction thread stating that the ship sucks because recon cruisers will own it?

Originally by: Harry Voyager I would actually expect Command ships to sell for around 100-150m once the prices settle.
Command Ships, unlike HACs, have Recon Cruisers and Interdictors to compete with, so despite their capabilities thye're going to be far less decisive than the last generation of T2 ships were.
Harry Voyager
you arnt making much sense mate, command ships have to compete with recon cruisers and interdicors and HAC's dont? ok....... why?
command ships have a huge cost and build time, the amarr field command is like a super zealot, and you think its going to sell for the same price as a zealot?
Considering Zealots cost 40-50M to build and there are infinitly more pilots with the skills to fly it isnt fair to compare it.
The above thoughts and statements are IC and should be taken as such. |

perhaps you should take another look at the build cost of a zealot.

No, I'm just saying that this ship catagory isn't going to be in the same sort of demand that HACs were in their day, because there are alternatives to it that there were no compairables to back when HACs came out.
I'm also tryign to point out that this ship is not going to be the Fist of God people are making it out to be; the class has serious weaknesses to its strengths, that can easily be used against it. As such, they will never be worth the 500m+ that some Com Ship BPO owners are trying to charge for them, even though they will utterly spank current HACs.
I honestly doubt they'll even be able to keep selling them for the 200m-250m that they're going for now, precisely because of the capabilities of the other ship classes also being released at this time.
Harry Voyager
Addendum: I'm also expecting HAC prices to take a nose dive, once things settle out, again because they are now going to be threatened with Recons, Coms, and Inters, all of which are capable of going toe to toe with them favorably. ____________________ I'm not an idiot; I just play one on the forums. |

actually that 25% bonus is for the BC skill level which is required at level 5 to use the ship. Those resist bonuses are already factored into the ships stats.....Do a show info on the ship in market, those resists will be the exact same once you board the ship. Just like the sacrilege, the 5% bonus to resists per Cruiser level is already figured into the stats.....Absolution's resists will be similar to Zealots if not exactly the same.
Back to the main topic though, bravo for selling the ship at a fair price...While of course I'd prefer it to be cheaper, 240 mil is a very fair price. If you get another ship mark me down for one....and a Damnation too if you can find one at that price =))

You are wrong, the SAC and zealot both have same resists on the market, except sac is supposed to get 25% bonus to all resists.
Now look at deimos and ishtar, neither get a bonus, yet both have the exact same resists, all HAC get the same resists - apart from the SAC, which gets 25% bonus which does not show up until you board the ship.
This works the same for all ships, so please dont go saying the resists are already factored in

Harry I think your getting the Field Command Battlecruisers confused with the Fleet Command Battlecruisers. The Absolution and the Damnation are 2 very different ships. Absolution is more of a ship to pvp in solo or maybe with a gang, Fleet Command ships are almost total Gang SKill Boosting bad arses imo. I can't see a scenario why a Fleet command ship would ever 1v1 a ship unless it got caught travelling.
I can see an Absolution (Field command) ship doing a bit of 1v1. -Torque

The ship the OP is selling is the direct comat ship, making it the one most likely to get pounced solo, hence my coments on its reduced 1v1 advantages are still valid.
I'm also of the opinion that those critiques are valid for the Fleet Command ships as well. Their high value makes them a primary target in any engagement, which effectively limits them to engagment sizes where thye can survive that kind of attention. In other words, unless they come down in price considerably, they will be limited to fairly small scale engagments, where they are vulnerable to EWar, and their gang bonuses do not give the same level of benefit as they could in a large scale fleet action.

I stand corrected, you are right. But in my defense, when I looked at resists a year ago when I got into my Sac, the resists WERE factored in, and listed at 70 EM, 85 Exp, 71.875 Kin, and 51.25 Thermal...Guess that's what I get for not paying attention for a year....Thanks for clarifying that.
