the recon ships have been selling for up to 250m odd and they cost less than half the build cost and have a much smaller build time, and your calling me greedy?

ONE recon ship, a Curse, sold for 250 millions, because it was the fisrt Curse ingame, and IMHO the best recon ship. After that the price of most recon ships dropped to 150 millions. And 240 millions for an Absolution is already a nice price.

i'm assuming isal's bid is not valid as the sniper rule only comes into effect if there is a bid within the last 15 minutes before the auction ends so my 240mill bid wins but just in case i'll bid 260mill.

i am suprised it went so low. i would have thought it would have sold near 300 to 350 easy. i guess they will though once people see how good these new ships are.

I'd have to agree with it being low, I mean this thing is a zealot with 2 extra guns, more pg, armor, resistance & can use gang mods. What more can one want? I'd be willing to bet it can go toe to toe with any bs & still hit frigs & cruisers

I was also suprised at how low this went for. Maybe it is due to not many having the skills to fly it. I was thinking the first one would go for 400-500 mil and they would settle down at 200-250 mil since build cost is 70-80 mil

it hasn't actually been sold yet as although i had the high bid at end of auction the seller hasn't acknowledged this or contacted me.
if they have chosen not to sell as the bid wasn't as high as they hoped then they should have specified a reserve which wasn't done.

Edited by: Harry Voyager on 26/12/2005 18:52:06 I would actually expect Command ships to sell for around 100-150m once the prices settle.
Command Ships, unlike HACs, have Recon Cruisers and Interdictors to compete with, so despite their capabilities thye're going to be far less decisive than the last generation of T2 ships were.
I mean, a Zealot only had to worry about other HACs messing it up. Command ships have to worry about getting in a fight with an EWar or NOS Recon Cruiser, and Interdictors are going to run nasty rings abot them.

you arnt making much sense mate, command ships have to compete with recon cruisers and interdicors and HAC's dont? ok....... why?
command ships have a huge cost and build time, the amarr field command is like a super zealot, and you think its going to sell for the same price as a zealot?

interdictors will get owned by any medium gun anyway, 90 sig radius on flycatcher ftl.

When HACs came out, they were the undisputed kings of Tech II. The only Tech II ships they were flying against were Interceptors, Assault Frigates, and Covert frigates. Inties were a limited threat, though they were considered to be mostly tackling ships. Assault Frigates were just a smaller weaker HAC, so HAC's trumped them. Coverts weren't designed for shooting, so HACs never gave them much thought. Stealth Bombers were gimpy waste, so HACs didn't need to consider them.
Hence, if you wanted a top of the line combat ship, you got a HAC. They were the only game in town for, what, nearly a year now?
Command Ships aren't going to have that advantage. While they may be more powerful than HACs, their relative advantage is actually less than HACs. Recon cruisers are going to pose a very serious threat to them, that HACs haven't had to face for the past, what is it, year now.
Quote: interdictors will get owned by any medium gun anyway, 90 sig radius on flycatcher ftl.
Interdictors are going to be able to break 1.5kps without MWD, with MWD, we're looking at 3-4kps, which is far more than even most Medium guns can track. Additionally, it is possible to fit out full weapon loads, and battlecruiser grade extender tanks on most Interdictors, without seriously increasing their sig radius. While a lone Inter is going to have difficulties taking on a Com ship, a pair or trio will mess one up fast, particularely if they are using NOS.
We aren't going to be looking at the same single ship dominated battlefield that we've been looking for the past several months.

with its 25% bonuse to all armor resists, the absolution will have better all around resists than a zealot, apart from explosive, where it will only be 2.5% lower, add a couple of corpum a-type nanos with the passive skills onto this, and we are talking some insane resists, explosive up to 90% and the like, these things are going to be beasts.
