OK. So today I had three (3) crashes in one single mission. It was the reprisal and ofc. every time i came back the commander was at full shields. It took a long time to complete that mission.
To me it is totally random. It can play for hours without a crash and then two in a short time. They happen everywhere, but not so often in session changes. Usually I am just warping or sitting in station.
I do use clonemaker since a couple of weeks but I did report this problem long before I ever cloned my EVE app. When I do run two clients, it seems like the one running in the background (I run fullscreen + cmd+tab) crash very very easy.
Please fix.
Cheers. |

Great news. I know you will solve it ... soon :)
I have a feeling that my clients freeze more often when they are running in the background. If running multiple clients is not a problem for your debugging try opening lots of them and one will soon crash.

Something has changed but I am not sure if it is an improvement or not. Game still freeze randomly (seems to be graphics only since char will continue to be logged into the game and probably also keeps doing what it did) but some of the freezes now only last 5-10sec. AFAIK that used to not be the case. Now, if these events represent new behavior of the old perpetual freezes it is a slight improvement. But it may also just be a new bug. |

Four freezes over two clients and about 40minutes of playing. One of the freezes was severe enough that my alt lost connection and logged out from the server. I also had two freezes where the client came back to life after 5 seconds or so. This is ridiculous. |

Did you know that explorations sites despawn when you warp out? Well that is exactly what happens when your client freeze and you have to force quit. Yeah, I am mad. The least you can do is give us mac users a discount until you have fixed your game. |

Running windows gives me a headache but I am happy it works for you. |

Still freezing but nowadays it sometimes freeze so hard that character loggs out. It also seems like crashing to desktop has become more common. |

Haven't had much time to play last month or so but today I tried again and it didn't take long before I heard my alt freeze in the background (broken cd player sound). I had three freezes over 2 hours of play on two characters. I don't know why I bother anymore ... fanfest points towards a nice future for EVE, unless you play on a Mac. Might just unsub and come back in a year to see if they have fixed it then.

OMG. I forgot how bad the situation was. And nothing has improved over the last month or so I haven't played. It is not playable anymore unless you are masochistic. Is this issue shelved? How many Macs have problems? Should I just HTFU and realize that I represent such a small minority that I either get a new OS, a new computer or stop playing EVE? |

I think it is getting worse. It used to be random freezes only. But lately it seems it is both freezing and crashing more frequently. It also seems to freeze more often when jumping and when opening a market/asset/bookmark window though that might just be randomness playing a trick on me. |

Was hoping this would be solved with Inferno but no such luck. I have had three freezes tonight already. This problem lives in some code that was introduced in Crucible and it is probably here to stay for ever. |

CCP Konflikt wrote:There were some fairly major changes under the hood with today's patch, can some of you comment on how you are affected by freezes currently (after 06/25/2012) ?
Please mention which version of OSX you're using in your replies and note anything before 10.6.7 is not supported.
Hi there. I am sorry to only post complaints here. I did notice a great improvement about the time of that patch and was thinking of posting here about my experiences after I had more data.
I didn't experience a single freeze (maybe only one) in Gëê two weeks of gaming from end of june to beginning/mid july! I did get the odd grid not loading problem a few times after jumping into system. But it was a minor issue compared to before.
After that I havent played that much until recently. Now the game freeze a lot again. Last night it was 4-5 times during Gëê three hours of play. Makes me sad. Did you revert any changes recently?
I have OSX 10.6.8 fully updated. |

My client has been surprisingly stable lately. Not a single freeze but a few disconnects, half of them when jumping through a gate. It seems like something has been fixed and I am very happy.
Maybe you could look over DC mechanics because often they happen silently and you notice it only when trying to activate a mod. Sometimes you can kick a reconnect by opening the wallet. It would be nice if the client was aware of the DC and informed you about it.
Also, mumble stays on-line so it doesn't look like a problem with my connection.
But all-in-all a HUGE IMPROVEMENT. Thanks! |
