Not sure how much this helps, but just as my game freezes up I get this in my Console application:

I run windowed mode as well and I have noticed that it happens when I hide the window for a while and then open it up again. The reason I hide the window is that it doesn't seem to render in hidden mode and won't eat up CPU cycles. Maybe it has something to do with re-initialization of the renderer? |

You can also press CMD+alt+esc to force quit in full screen mode.
I just lost another ship to this stupid freezing. Petitioning doesn't help as it's not a server issue which are the only issues they will reimburse. It's time to track this issue down and fix it now CCP... |

Don't know if this is pure luck, but I had my client running the whole day without a crash on my MacBook Pro. That has not happened before in weeks. There was a patch the other day, maybe it's resolved? |

Time to get some useful information through. This is what I get in the log when I run the game from the Terminal:

I had high hopes for this issue getting solved when they announced the new Cider version for the Mac client. DX9 development is probably reaching EOL and so would the Mac client without an update to a new version of Cider. I thought it would make sense that the bug might be within Cider, since CCP can't fix that on their own (maybe with the exception of upgrading the version). I guess I was wrong because the issue is still there.
I've had the same issue since Incursion / Incarna somewhere and I'm pretty sure at least someone at CCP has a Mac that they use for EVE and can reproduce the issue. I've had this issue on ALL of my Macs and refuse to believe it's an uncommon issue.
I think what's really going on is either it's a very time consuming issue to solve and/or they are just not valuing the Mac user base very high. Either way, some clarification on what the status of this issue is would be most welcome, even if it's bad news. |
