I've been having similar issues. On my primary client I've had it freeze up quite often and always inconveniently, no warning just stops accepting any inputs and screen freezes. I then have to force quit. Until I do so, my character remains logged in.
I have also had my client silently CTD every several minutes while docked up.
On my secondary clients (made with the client clone tool) I have not noticed any problems. The only settings difference is the window size. |

Having noticed that my cloned clients didn't have any problems, I cloned another client, duplicated and renamed the folder in application support, and I've had no freezing/CTD problems. So that workaround seems to work. Why? I haven't the foggiest idea. |

1) Windowed Mode 2) Happened when the client had focus as much as otherwise 3) MBP 2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram GeForce 8600M GT 4) 10.6.8
All my (now 3) cloned clients (through the clonemaker app) have had 0 stability issues, including the one that's linked to a simple copy of the Eve Online folder in application support.
And sorry, but no logs because Cider doesn't seem to produce them for this (as in, there's no file where I'm told to look for logs). I really, really wish I could help there. |

Swaffer wrote:CCP - could you please give us an update, mac users are paying a subscription for a near on "currently" unplayable client. I know your probably on the case, but keeping the paying players informed would be kind, and make us feel more comfortable to the fact that at least the issue is being addressed. I think most people (including myself) started suffering MAC freezing after the second crucible patch.
In the mean time i think i might try to get Eve to work on a PC clone on my Mac.
Many thanks CCP.
I'm looking at installing Wine to run Eve (a project I am not looking forward to) because these crashes are getting to be the last straw for the Mac client. I'm Ok with subpar performance (I'm on a Mac, it's to be expected with games), I'm Ok with Eve voice not working from its inception, I'm ok with an 11Gig! Program file. I just want to be able to play the game without wondering if I'm going to freeze right as I need to start repping my fleetmates, or need to tackle that guy or whatever. I don't know if it's an issue with Transgaming's product or the Eve Client inside, but it's CCP's logo on the box, STS, so I'm looking to CCP to make sure it works.
Again, I wish I could provide logs, but when it freezes, I have to Force Quit, and then when I look in the places I've been told to look for crash logs, there's no file there to send in. |

Swaffer wrote:guys, there is a new dev STICKY thread about this, might be good idea to post there.
Links to these threads and a quick summary have been posted in the sticky. Stick can now be properly ignored in favor of the preexisting threads. |
