as above same problem, no fix, random freezing, very annoying. Just have to try waiting some more i guess. I know i still appear connected when my client freezes, and it doesn't matter what i do, can be absolutely anything, can not pin point an action that causes the freeze. |

CCP - could you please give us an update, mac users are paying a subscription for a near on "currently" unplayable client. I know your probably on the case, but keeping the paying players informed would be kind, and make us feel more comfortable to the fact that at least the issue is being addressed. I think most people (including myself) started suffering MAC freezing after the second crucible patch.
In the mean time i think i might try to get Eve to work on a PC clone on my Mac.
Many thanks CCP. |

Well this topic is already 5 pages long, and a hot topic. I actually swopped from a PC to a MAC as i think they out perform PC by far, no viruses, and everything just works, apart from EVE. Let me know if you have success with EvE with wine app.
Please CCP fix, it's got to be an issue with the crucible patch update. I've not even heard of any work rounds for this. |

i'm pretty sure it's not hard drive issue, i had mine changed about 6 months ago, and i have 500gig spare space, although i've not tried a defrag yet, or whatever it's called on a MAC. |

Don't know if i found a fix or not yet, still testing, however if you open up your "display and Graphics" tab on the ESC screen and set the PRESENT INTERVAL to INTERVAL IMMEDIATE it might prevent freezing, i've now had the client running successfully with no freezing while AFK for 1.5 hours.
CANX that, it froze. |

well, i forced shut all running programs obviously apart from eve, and everything started running fine, no crashes. I had a lot of microsoft office software running, all forced shut. Give this a try, i'll post again if i get another freeze. |

sounds like people may be talking of two problems here, 1 is graphics freezing, and 1 is client crashing. Well now i have everything else closed down, including I-tunes, eve runs no problem (so far, as i'll probably jinx myself). |

well i'm happy with performance now, the only application i have running in the background are
adobe reader, wine helper, firefox and finder,
And i've not had a graphics freeze (which was always my problem) since i last wrote on this page.
Something CCP patched the EvE client with has made it very sensitive to background programs, i used to have all sorts running, i think i can remember most.
MAC microsoft office, all programs. bit torrent i-tunes photo booth (as well as above)
I think that's it, so something from one of them (i think, as i'm not an expert bug finder or programmer) was causing my problem, could be different programs for different people, i don't know. But as someone quoted above, they found client more stable when they closed down other programs, but not completely stable. Well close down absolutely everything you can, and got a completely stable client.
Hopefully this info may be of use to CCP, in finding out what the cause is, as i have a top spec 27" i-mac which is capable of running many things at once with eve also running. Hope this is a good work around for people, good luck.
Please post here if it works for you, may help CCP do something about it. |
