For me lately the freezing has been 90% linked to DT. It is always severe right after DT and usually disappears in 20min-2h after DT. Not logging off helps to prevent 8% of the remaining freezings. But its not linked to any action, sometimes you cant even warp out of a system as you get freeze during warp (or just sitting in station). |

Mine non-specialist opinion is that it is something that is related to interaction with server. If the cause is not found, imagine if the freezing issue hits Eve Windows version with the next expansion. HOW MANY subscriptions would be lost then? If you think it just can't happen, spend a little time reading on the Internet about Battlefield 3, which was launched about the same time as Crucible and received massive reports of exactly the same freezings in both PC and console versions.
As the freezing issue is introduced in Eve, I would say that hitting Windows client too is quite possible. |

I do have Bootcamp and I do have Windows, but I find it stupid to own a Mac machine just to log in Windows all the time. I suppose you did not buy yours if you prefer not to use all your OSX software and hardware, such as magic mouse that does not work under Windows, fans that do not work (you are not afraid to fry your mac?), ect.
And most importantly, when I occasionally log in Windows I find there LOTS OF OTHER cool new games to play instead of Eve online. |

I did attempt this using uTorrent and succesfully obtained a new copy of ubuntu. This didnt do it for me. Next up I tried throttling my bandwidth to 56k speeds and increasing latency to see if that was the scenario encountered, this also did not freeze my client. Interestingly another user suggested that renaming or deleting your EVE Online folder from: ~/Library/Application Data/ Alleviated the problem. This action will remove all your settings, cache and defaults. Did any of you attempt this and did it alleviate the issue?
Freezing is reported to all available mac types. Some have said that 2 out of 3 macs have the issue. I would suggest to get some regular mac instead of an optimized developer mac and I am absolutely sure a mac who has the issue will be found fast.
If it still does not help, just ask people to bring their freezing macbooks to the fanfest.

Older players still hope that the freezing issue will be fixed. The issue really bad is when it concerns new players who are using eve trials on their macs.
With 4 million macs sold worldwide in a quarter such severe issues can create significant potential market loss. I suppose majority of the mac users do not install Windows and if they want to play a game they have a choice of only a dozen decent games. Eve online clearly is the best among them. The rest are outdated and an average mac buyer do not play games like Warcraft. |

I will be at FanFest, and I have had this issue hit me a few times. I would be happy to let you poke around if we can get it to repeat. For me, it only happens when I run multiple clients in windowed mode for a while. One of the clients will freeze, the other continues to work fine.
Good luck then! Right after DT I get freezes on my imac within 5-120 seconds after logging in. |

I really thought it was some fault with my system, but after a clean install it cannot be my fault.
Can a dev PLEASE comment on this, as i'm playing with 3 accounts, and i'm starting to get annoyed with the crash and open all the time. i played since 2003 and its just the past year i had problem.
This issue is not around for a year, tomorrow will be second anniversary since the first post in this thread. |

Amazing Rubicon experience when your game freezes right in the moment when you land in a ghost site. With the slow new launcher after restarting game the site is gone! |
