A scorpion is for sure the most flexible bs in the game but it all depends on what kind of ship u meet in combat. U cant be equipped for all types of combat engagement sometimes u are right equipped sometimes u arent. There is no uber equipmet fitting all types of combat there is only equipment for the right combat situation. And scorpion has a very low powercore number and can soforth not equip that many turrets.

The blackbird at 2mill a pop is a good choice for would be pirates.
The one thing people fear is not being able to fight back, and with all your jamming the bb is great for that.
I know cap is a problem with these ships, but what about this setup for medium slots=
1 warp scrambler 1 staus web 3 ecm target destabilisers (multi or other)
And heres the strange 1, dont fit a a/b, like every1 else seems to, what about a "medium capacitor", my cap lasts for ages with this unit, i need it alot more than i need a a/b.
I have a 13% cpu booster in the low to run this extra item.
Whats the downside of not having a a/b??.
I still like rails for my main guns and 2 launchers with cruise.
A match for any ship:) except the scorp.

Blackbirds are fantastic ships. Worth every penny.
They are far from invincible (I lost my last one in a straight 1v1 against a thorax, although it was pretty close.) but they are great team players, and cheap to replace. .

At least you had fun.....
btw - you mention hardeners.......wtf are they?
Y is everyone ranting about BB's.....I don't think it matters what rig you are flying, if you have solid tactics and know what you are doing then you are half way there......

As a Caldari, I don't take BB's lightly. They are cheap, disposable, and very effective EW platforms if properly outfitted/flown. IMO, there's only one ship that I like any better... The Scorpion.
Again, tho, they are not going to win in a head on slugfest with superior firepower, they need to be outfitted correctly and flown with some degree of intelligence.
Every ship has it's place in the world of eve (except maybe the raven...), it's simply a question of getting the right tool for the job. Don't mind me... I'm just a pigment of your imagination. |

OMFG MEH TACHYONS AND MEGABEAMS LAZARS WITH EIGHT HEATSINKS DID NOT WIN TEH DAY VS A SCORPION. PLZ NERF TEH SCORPION, IS IS TEH UBER!!
Scorpions can be defeated, they are the best 1v1 ship when outfitted correctly but they still have little firepower compared to other races ships. Their shields are very strong but their armor/structure seriously sucks. Not to mention a crappy powergrid to boot.
Is Scorpion the best PvP ship? Yeah probably, but it's not imbalanced. Certainly tier2 battleships in some instances are outshined by their tier1 counterparts due to better slot assignment at the cost of armor/hull/shields. ------

Every ship can be beaten. The bb is no exception. If I know what a bb's loadout is, I can put the proper loadout on a Moa to beat it.
