just wondering if you encounter a one on one in a time of war do you pod the guy or make him float home?
using my planetside experience i know makeing them walk home is in thoery more tactical as they are out of combat longer then just getting zapped to the tubes.

Letting them fly back assumes they can't: a) buy another ship in system and return to the fight b) smacktalk in local c) have another ship nearby.
Pod them, and they're returned to their cloning station. There's fairly good odds that that won't be in the same systems as you're currently in. -- Lyrus Associates is recruiting |

Id pod kill him because pod killing looks cool and creates a nice sound. Plus he could have expensive implants plugged in. ------------------

I would say it will hurt a player alot more if you kill their pod off aswell. For 3 reasons mainly:
A) You may have destroyed alot of expensive implants if you dispose of their pod B) Their clone costs may not be cheap C) Who's to say their clone station is not 30 jumps away from the battle? And maybe not all combat ships are based at their clone station
On nearly all occasions i would prefer to get out of combat with my pod intact.... Although the above applies, most heavily focused PVP'ers may not spend alot on implants for the above reasons.
Hope that helps

Depends what the client wants - in most cases its kill them and collect the corpse for promotional material.

yup - thats the way to do it
its a lot harder to get a pod than people give it credit for though, at least if the pilot killed is experience
