I am trying to understand the game mechaninc behind this. I was LFF in an incurion and got invited to a fleet. First hint is that it was another Basi that invited me. We warp out to planet and lock each the up. The second i begin repping him a ship warps in and them suddenly turns red. I did not reveive a warning that the Basi was at war. I suspcted this was a trick but was counting on the warning that the Basi was in a War to clue me in. I just dont understand what happened here.

I did fail to mention that about 20 minutes before this event I was invited to another fleet and again the BAsi and I started locking and repping. I did revieve a War Dec warning on this basi and accepted it. I then got nervous and left the fleet and hid where the aggression timer could time out. What happend after that is in the previosu paragrahp except i did let the agression timer runout before I engaged.

This has become a hting and lots of basi's are going down.

It's a trap. The logi flipped a can. Subscribe to "Public Incursion Blacklist" mailing list, and send toon name to TDF, in case it's not in the list already. In general, armor is safer than shield, due to TDF being more organized.

Just admit it, armor is "safer" than shield only because armor is so paranoid that they'll ban you if you just sneeze the wrong way.

But yeah ... join the safer and moderated channels, BTL PUB, BTL armor, The Ditanian Fleet.
They've blocked most known griefers/gankers and similar accumulated over 10 months.

It won't block out alts and various NPC corps, so when you get fleeted. Check the fleet member's corporation.
If they are all members of the same corp or same alliance, you have a hint there. If they are members of some known griefer corp or merc, you have a hint there.
Last thing, check some of their killboards. Usually most of them have ton of logi ganks on killboards from other various incursions from the previous days

The fact that you incursionbears view Eve as an ISK-grinding game (like how most people's real life jobs are), as opposed to a game (which means it's supposed to be fun) is what makes you a carebear who deserves to be griefed.

How exactly was this made possible and why would someone war dec for a logi kill?

yep, because nowadays hardcore PVPers have 30 billion ISK in their wallets and won't come risk a cheapass cruiser in case they get blacklisted from some homoerotic old man's mutual ************ jerk circle AKA incursion channel. Whatever people need all this ISK for I'll never know, but I'm sure Dr Eyjo is tearing his hair out at this stupid ISK faucet

There should be a warning if you try to rep someone who flipped a can, but there is not, and this is how you got ganked. Gotta be careful.

The argument that TDF is safer than BTL...don't really buy it. BTL is larger, there will be more incidents due to pure numbers.

Personally, I find it more fun to get the proverbial "goodfight" rather than ganking clueless people but you don't see me making spergy madposts about it, unlike your boy trinkets.

Not to mention the questionable personalities of some of the higher ups in TDF, especially carmelos53, the "witch hunt" bannings that frequently get the wrong party, and general state of paranoia make being in TDF a rather negative experience.

It's effective. New alt ganking corps like "Go Petition Blizzard" were banned within 4 hours after they were formed. This minimizes exposure. They're still around in btl, in contrast. No one is criticizing your choice if you stay in btl and take your chances.

The funny thing is people think those bans are effective at all. Good luck rooting out my deep-cover alts with those witch-hunts.

It's effective in that all recent kills are out of btl and not tdf. Is there some other way to measure effectiveness?

I've been watching TDF for days. The bans are worthless feel-good measures to keep our mains off the list so people feel safer.

We'll get to TDF when the time comes. We haven't been *kept* out, we've simply stayed out.

Disposable alts can't fly boats and don't get invites. "Spies" in public channels are useless.
