Once again we have the pleasure to invite all EvE online players to a real life GÇ£blobGÇ¥ this time in Londun UK.
Last year we had a great event at the Kytoto game bar in Manchester , but this time after confirming the event and all arrangement was made they bailed on us :(
So after looking around for alternatives we have decided to move the event to GÇ£The MeltdownGÇ¥ in London. This is a true E gaming bar with even better facilities than we had before and they already have ties to CCP and have run several EvE events on screen like the tournaments final.
And ofc there in computers in house so we can make a EvE fleet friday and saturday evening :)
But bring your laptop if you have one
And we can buy food and beverages as they have a good stocked bar.
They have excellent connections to the public transport systems bouth tube and busses.

So who is the event open to ?
The event is open to everyone who plays eve or a wannabe EvE player. If you are a newbe or even a wannabe EvE pilot or maybe a hard core pilot this is the place to be. Bring your friend or coworker and show them what this awesome game is like :)
What will the cost be for the EvE blob ? Any entrance fee ?
For us to use the room on saturday from 12:00 until normal opening hours will be 200-ú
I will ( Kluten) cover that amount but i would love you to chip in on the cost and if we reach the same number as last year we are talking about 2-ú per pilot.
So no entrance fee , but iGÇÖll put up a jar you can chip in to :)
I need to sleep somewhere any tips ?
There is several hotels, bed & breakfast nearby and I am working on a discount code at the Ibis Hotel like we had last year. The Ibis hotel is cheap clean and good hope to have that code and price rdy for you soon.
But remember you have to book your own accommodation we are just trying to get you a good deal here :)
Will CCP attend the EvE blob ?
That is a excellent question . We already have the skype session cleared like we had last year when CCP had a fantastic session with us showing the blob a lot of new stuff and playing around with big shiny ships and some ships that players had never seen before . And as last time we will have the opportunity to ask the CCP questions live during the skype Twitch TV session.
We moved the EvE blob to 2 november because of the Las Vegas trip for CCP and the recovery time for their personnel :) but CCP Tomas Meise has promised to do their best so I am pretty sure we will have some surprises for you there :)
Will there be T-Shirts avaiable this year ?
I am currently working with CCP on that and all details ar not yet finished, but I cal tell you the how it will work
We will get the T-Shirts rdy for sale , you pre order ( where TBA) prepays it and it will be delivered at the blob.
What else will be happening ?
Since many of us are arriving on friday we will blob the Meldown friday evening to make sure that we donGÇÖt experience any lag at the Jita desk :) Friday last year was fantastic and I personally made a lot of new firend out of game and in game and it was so nice to talk to other EvE players about game palying ISK making and fun memories we have in game .
On saturday we have a program ( se below ) but we will also have some other stuff happening
- EvE quiz with nice prices ( TBA together with CCP)
- EvE blob presentation ands a short speach by Kluten
- Photo session ( memories to be made)
We also hope to have a CCP EvE stand with information and stuff for sale
and we have some classified ones as well :)

As players gather in from all over europe we will met up for a pre party eveing until we are booted from the bar because of DT is incoming. I have no official program for this eveing but I have challenged Midder & Pewkitt to sing some karakoe :D
And we will form a EvE blob fleet and stream it live at Twitch Tv

We also wanna do a game session with some GÇ£how toGÇ¥ tutorials so if there is anything you wna tus to look into or CCP show on the session let us know
We presume the CCP session will last 2 hours or so and after that we need some time to frehen up .So the plan then is go back to the hotel, get frehen up and the meet up for some food before blobbing The Meldown for the final eveing fun with good friends, drinks and game.
Why are we doing this ?
Well good question again . This EvE blob event is just for the love of the game and the opportunity to meet gaming friends in real life. Some of us ( me included ) has made some in game and out of game friends and the friendship goes wide beyond just EvE :)and it is a exelent opportunity to get new players into the game :)
Do you make any money of this ?
No not a single dime or -ú or ISK . It is done for free and i realy hope you will attend :)

Just answer the post with yes or mabe so we have a rough idea how many is coming . Remember it is free to join the event :)

Not to put a downer on you, but I don't think you've ever been to Meltdown before...
I love the place, yet you're definitely making it sound a 'nicer' place than it is...hah.
1) They have like 2 or 4 PCs I think...you're gonna need a lot of laptops to form up any fleet and they may not have that many power sockets...
2) Links are buses or london overground. The london underground is maybe about 15-20 minute walk away, buses and overground are much closer.
3) It's gonna be funny to see 100 people fit, lol.
4) Wouldn't say the bar is well stocked compared to other pubs/bars...last time I was there it was 1 lager, 1 cider & Guinness on tap. Decent cocktails mind...someone came up with a 'Cap Booster' cocktail that was blue and decent. |

Been to the Meltdown and tbh i know what Visiam is getting at, but if we can get some good confirmed numbers we can get in touch with meltdown and let them know just whats gonna be hitting them so theyre prepared.
Honestly with the first few days of ATXI and Meltdown never having put on any kind of Eve Online event they were (quite understandably) a lil light on things, erring on the side of caution / conservativism.
I have no reservations that Meltdown will rise to the occasion. I will be there drinking, playing games and having fun including some karaoke (alcohol permitting!)
only wish gamerbase was still in business :( |

I will try to pop in but have to echo the sentiment of those above - this is NOT a venue that could accomodate more than 30 - 40 people comfortably. And absolutely, certainly not on laptops/PCs.
Also there is the massive Veto London meet happening in September, seems a shame to have two London meets so close together and thereby split CCP and player attendance. |

Will grab you for a convo at some point, would be nice not to step on each others toes with regards to London Events, also have experience with the Venue, since I ran the AT finals there that you might find useful.

After getting some good advise we have chosen to move to the same bar as Veto Corp uses. They have excellent conditions and have hosted eve events before :)
So this is the new bar and they have given us a separate area :)

Well I live in South East London so it is only one train to canon street for me and im right next to the venue. Went to the eve meet there last year and it was quite nice so im deffo down to go again (especially as it looks like there will be a lot more razors XD) |
