I hear fountain is nice too. Never been there but i hear it's one of the best places to be in Eve.
South vs. North. I liked the Angels space in the East, does that count too?
A good player can make isk anywhere :)

What alliance ever moved from the north to the south? FIX?
If anything, when curse finally split and a crap load of alliances spawned from it, some of those went up north. Same happened with Xetic split and NBSI.
Really i dont remember any of this North vs. South stuff when CA was still around it was mostly CA vs. Everyone else.
I mean, lets be honest the north never started on firm footing to begin with. Ark in fountian was like a magnet to carebears. Not to mention while SA and CA were duking it out in the great war and attracting more and more pvpers, FA was repeatedly getting smacked around by pirates such as m0o.

For what it's worth, pre-rmr the south of the map was FAR superior to the north in terms of raw isk making potential and had been for a LONG time.
Now there is more balance, to the point where Fountain used to be the most profitable region in the game - since the serpentis complex change, however, Venal, Fethy, Impass and Delve are now far more profitable and far less risk.

It's not hard to make isk in the north. Guristas aren't as difficult as I found Angels to be. But they're nowhere as easy or as profitable as the Sanshas are in Esoteria. Also there's no Arkonor like you get in the south. While you can make a lot of money up north it's not quite as easy.

ASCN come out of Xetic for the most part...Thats when I was xetic. I stayed in ASCN only for maybe a week or two then was enticed by demogod to help him start The Taining Corp with a few other folks he selected(?), but I have a level of respect towards ASCN because of all the folks out in the south...I have always viewed ASCN as a "sleeping giant" of sorts with them building the multiple outposts and being in a position to reap the benefits of the southern regions riches...however at times one has to question their constant meddling with their neighbors' politics....however, I guess thats why they have also been called the USA of Eve...lol (not my opinion, just something commonly overheard)

After RMR changes Angels arent that hard anymore.
Didnt stay in norh for long. Used to live D7-ZAC area. (Used to be a SMASH region, now i think FE owns it.) Didnt have much time to play back then. But in 1-2 hr i could easily make 20-50 mil. North resources are limited but used properly its very profitable.
Those who think North is a Bad area, i will say u havnt been to Providence.

3 months ago when 5 go in norh PA/FE/NBSI declear how they will kick our asses ....present days shows a Venal under control of 5 forces ...more we manege to push the front line 1 jump from the capital of FE ..we heard FE fleet commanders sayng to theres fleets they will not engage out of D7... we have PA run away up in branch ...we have NBSI(or what left from them) somwhere in empire ,We see .5. dreads roming araund north.
F-E instituete the ""idiot-taxes"" abaut ppl who are killed when they NPC-ing.....We have BOB taking G/IRON outpost 19 jumps from h-pa .....so the question is ....how far till F-E will crash?? coz after they will crush entire north will be F***** up ....why ? because FE are the only ones in all the northen region who still fighting .They lost half of there alliance in bses in 1 single battle but they post on forums how victorius they are ..why ? to hide the incompetents of there FC and to try rise the morale of the troops .I remember an official post of PA abaut branch proclaming it is under them control ..LOL dude is like you sayn your home belong to you .
In my opinion and knowing some facts i think north adventure will be finish in less then 3 months (personal opinion)

South: Hard PvP, Hard NPC (don't mess with angels, but then again Sanshas are pussies).
North: Semi hard PVP, easily tanked NPCs (where everyone want these "Guetistas" doo dahs).
West: Not much to really talk about, basically sandwiched in there between north and south.
East: No go territory, the Joves get REALLY annoyed seeing any non T5 ship, so stay away.
So to sum it up. Easy cash with easy access = north, good fight + fun and decent cash = south, who cares = west and certain destruction = east.

Pesonally my favourite Region in Eve and was the first 0.0 region i went to was Great Wildlands.
i loved it when CA was about, BVIP, M-M3DB, E-02 had some amazing battles there and and from a miners perspective is also the best region in eve for ore.
Prime Ark and the Rats are pretty decent too crap i forgot U3K! that place is mint for pirating too! -V- are pretty hard at work down there far too busy to check local for lil ole me
So really South 4tw even tho CA is no more and im IRON now

Just because the regions may be financially disparate does not necessarily mean one side is "richer" than the other. There are other "wealths" worth mentioning that are not necessarily material.

I dont see this myself - I'm quite happily ratting in Venal without hinderance from The Five. D7 is a bit feisty now and again but if your idea of fun is bringing uber loads of peeps down and crashing the node so you are stuck for a few hours - bring it on! In the meantime, FE will go about its business relatively untroubled and we'll have a battle with you now and again when we can be bothered.

Just to clarify...I did not merely want this thread to turn into a "X alliance is better than Y alliance because ..." I wanted it to be a discussion of the style's of politics of N vs. S and the mining/npcing/warring of alliances in N vs S....not merely N is better or S is better :P obviously whoever lives in the north likes it there, and same with the South this should be more of a thread of describing alliances and regions and how they are integrated into each other.

Now being an ex-member of The Merchant Marines, and thus an old Xetic member, and now a lower-level leader in KOS alliance, my heart firmly sits in the southern hemisphere. While I am ignorant overall of any other region of eve, the south has been...stimulating to say the least. There is never a dull moment (thx SE <3) and the fighting is everywhere one week, then all quiet the next. It is a nice place to live, and I dont think I would change it for the world...now POST AWAY

ok.. just curious but when was THEMM ever a member of Xetic???? Far as i remember they were part of NORAD or one of the north eastern alliances that are now defunct.
