Fair comment. I found some race conditions related to the market cache state on initial start up that could cause loading to be slow. I will be looking into fixing and optimizing those sections over the next few days. I can't say if they'll be done before the Odyssey data update, but if not they should be out shortly afterwards. thx for looking at it....tho i must say that i installed the first 1.12 version then after i posted here there was a new version on the website so i installed that and there was a lot less lag in loading.
now installing 2246 version and i have a question...if i now to to eveHQ>check update it doesnt open a download panel anymore like it did with the older(pre-1.12) version, is this intended?

Yes that is intended... however it should tell you that there is no update available via a dialog ( I will investigate this ). The update system in 2.12 is really simplified from 2.11.x. If there is an update, it will download the latest installer and update your installation. This is a lot easier from a management standpoint than the older system. I haven't pushed 2246 on people via the update system yet, since the Odyssey 1.1 update is just around the corner so there will be another build as soon as the SDE data is converted, ship fittings are updated, etc and tested.

I can't seem to get EveHQ to work for a while now, but I doubt it's because of the app. I can't pull the data from the API with my browser either.
The only thing I can get is basic account info and which characters are on there. I'm sure the API key should work. In EveHQ the Tranquility status reads "updates disabled", and when I click API status it marks almost all XML fields as n/a.
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? Nightmares - A short story by Ch+¬ Biko |

So, What is the primary market hub in EVE Online?
It's not "Jita", and not "Jita IV Moon 4" and not "Jita IV - Moon 4 - Caladary Navy Assembly Plant"
Can you help with query for EVE HQ SQL service? I need to create ships attributes reference table with bonuses columns. I know, that is hard to retrieve bonuses data. If it is impossible, then description text field do. |

Thank you. Next problem is how to convert output to table with Ship Attributes as colums titles and Ship Names as row titles. And automate conversion for future. I'm waiting Steve Ronuken reply in the other thread before try to doing that. |

I'd use some actual programming language to convert the SQL output data into the preferred format which is probably what Steve will do. |

Thanks, it's working. Can you help in addition?
Is it possible to add category field? (frigate, cruiser, etc) And "flyable" - have players acces to that shiptype.
How to add long, but compact "where" construction like WHERE at.attributeName = "agility" OR at.attributeName = "armorHP" OR at.attributeName = "armorThermalDamageResonance" OR at.attributeName = "droneBandwidth" etc
?

(frigate, cruiser, etc) You could use the invTypes.groupID field for that to filter out all the different frigate or cruiser groups.
Quote:And "flyable" - have players acces to that shiptype. You mean to filter out stuff like Polaris ships and such? My best idea would be to check for "invTypes.published = 1", but I'm not sure if that gets rid of all ships that aren't accessible for players.

Just add this with an "AND" instead of the "WHERE" at the end of the above query and use single quotes ' instead of ". You could also use "AND at.attributeName in ('agility','armorHP','droneBandwidth')" instead. |

Does someone have the same behavior ?

Love EveHQ. I keep track of 4 different accounts and the associated training of the characters as well as fitting ships for them...
However... having had to update EveHQ, I can no longer launch it successfully.
When starting it, it runs through the "database converter" and I note that there are error messages saying that it can't load "System.Data.SQLite.dll" on conversion steps 5/15 and 4/15. Also note that it only carries out steps 1-5. Are there steps 6/15 to 15/15?
If I click to continue loading EveHQ it comes up with the the error screen with Futuramas Professor Farrnsworth, with the following error message...

Well, if you can't wait for our next release and require the HQF Editor right now, you basically have 2 options: - Use an older version (though while I don't know for sure my educated guess is you'd have to go back to a 2.12 version and lose the Rubicon update to avoid this bug). - Get Visual Studio, a Mercurial client like TortoiseHg and our latest source code and compile it yourself. It's not terribly complicated, but you'll have to be modestly computer savvy to set it up. |

Hey, Just wanted to pop-in to say that while I love EVEHQ, it is extremely laggy when adding more than a handful of API keys.
I have 12 characters loaded in and it really shows. If I simply attempt to maximize the EVEHQ window when it's been minimized, it takes a good 10 seconds to appear fully during which time my system resources are eaten up quite badly. Opening up the fitter or the prism causes much of the same issue. Even when idle I am seeing RAM and CPU usage some 10% higher than usual.
If there is a way to address this it would be highly appreciated. As of now I am unable to actually keep EVEHQ open while actively playing the game, which is a bit of a drag.
Cheers and thanks for the hard work, great program :) New Fitting Window | Distances above 10km | Maximums for buy orders |

I've read the twit post's about the abandoning of this and I also read the posts of many people that were willing to help. If only there were a way to say make this project fully open to the community, and in the source, and then find a way to allow multiple people to contribute. It would be a novel idea. I wonder if that'd work for other projects as well...
Okay, kidding aside. It's a great tool, used it for a long time, when I asked years ago about the source I think I was met with a lot of hesitation. Now the source is out there, otherwise can help. There are a lot of .Net dev's out there and I know there are a lot that play this game as well.
I tried getting the last iteration to work on my computer but it was barking about Mercurial and I don't have much time to fuss with it, but I will also look at the code to see where I can help.
I'm willing to contribute some time towards this tool since I have come to use it extensively over the years. There are some things I'd like to see improved (not that they are broken, just potentially different ideologies).

Desmont, why can't you find developers to help in EVEMon developing? Lack of interest or is it based on a weird dev-environment and there aren't so many developers on said dev-environment?
Pls, forgive me, I'm asking out of curiosity as I'm not a coder/developer. |

I wonder the same thing. Beats me, why. EVEMon is .NET/C# based and I believe that there should be enough people out there that do now the language. On the other hand .NET developers with free time is a rare thing, if I can judge from my experience. |

As I've not heard anything for several weeks from the two people primarily responsible for the development of EveHQ, I have decided to resume development myself and get EveHQ up to date with the Crius and Hyperion releases as soon as possible.
I'm not sure how long this will take or even how it will be deployed, but I'll make a start and see what happens in the meantime.

After seeing EVEHQ code, i know that is crazy difficult to maintain it if you never work inside it before. But if I can help you in few tasks / debug I will be happy =)
During my investigation, i saw few code which should be deprecated like legacy API project but which still be use. Plus, as a feature, I think that using wpf instead of dotnetbar for UI could be a plus for further maintain. The first is a standard, the second require a licence, so...
Another things which could be grateful is a roadmap / todo up to date to know what is expect, on which feature your are working on, what is planned or which feature has been reject...
I think it's missing at the moment and contribution looks more difficult =/ |

Total agree. Blueprint Manager overview in Prism could be replace using the new /char/blueprint and /corp/blueprint whose content name, location name, specific location name, me , pe and more instead of the current process which search for BP in assets API.
In the latest release of EveHQ, prism is broken because ME/PE could not been set. |

The knowhow you have already acquired will be very useful?
What would be the components of such a project?
1. DB - MySQL? 2. Base tool to use, this could be PHP or Python? 3. A frontend, Ajax?
You already pull info via the API to your current app, how do you store that data? Surely a DB would be goodd for this? And your current method for pulling the data, it should not be a major task to use PHP or Python to perform the same task?
Then using the exact methodology to combine this data as you currently do with .net etc and combine it with PHP or Python?
The present this in a GUI based on Ajax?
Damn man, you could do this!
Also, you could use a freemium model, allow basic functions free, and charge a fee for the premium functions.
I would be a member :)

Just an update to let people know where things are at.
I've updated EveHQ with the new Hyperion data so the core application and HQF appear to be working without issue at present. I'm currently working on Prism which is going to take a bit longer as the Crius changes are quite significant and will affect BPCalc and the recycler also.
As the previous EveHQ issue tracker is non-functional, if anyone knows of any major issues with the previous versions that needed fixing, please let me know here so I can take a look.
On the admin side, I have asked Quantix if he would transfer the evehq.net domain back to me so that we can use this to continue with information, forums, issue tracking and so on. If nothing moves on this front within a couple of days (and to be honest, it's doubtful) then I'll need to look at alternative plans for hosting and updates. |

It will most likely be released as a zip file as without access to the website and other bits of info, auto-update isn't an option at present. I also don't have time to mess about with installers at the moment so once I'm done, it will be a case of zip and post.

Shut Up and take my money
I will TOTALLY pay to have EVE HQ Back. Ive been with EVE for like 8 or 9 years, and nothings comes close. Fitting tool is the best, calculates everything from so many angles. If the POS fitting tool can come back some day, Id be so happy.
My point: Make it optional/mandatory to pay. Developers should get compensated for their amazing work, and to make it worth continuing; and most importantly, to lower wife aggro.
I will argue that say, $4.99/month usage fee is totally worth it. Id pay much more. I have 3x accounts in EVE that I pay for regularly [+2 more with PLEX for extra training from time to time]. All that money has been [almost] wasted for the last few weeks because Ive come to rely on EVE HQ so much.
So for me, I rather pay and have good quality EVE HQ. I would go as far as saying: "I dont want EVE without EVE HQ"

I'm not sure if this is anywhere near ready but as promised, I'm making a version available for initial testing and feedback. It's available as a zip file so just unzip somewhere and run. However, just to add:
1. This is a test version so backup your %AppData%/EveHQ folder before using this just in case. 2. Do report any errors/incorrect calculations/general funkiness, not only does this help you and me, but also everyone else. 3. Please be gentle, it's been a while since looked at the EveHQ code so I'm a bit rusty
Still To Do/Known Issues 1. BP copy time is incorrect 2. Factory/Research costs need looking at

To answer your questions:
1. Yes the fitting tool should be updated with new modules. 2. The skill planner should also be updated as a result of using the latest data. 3. I haven't touched anything to do with prices at the moment, that's something to consider in due course. What is the error you are getting?

Right, I may have an answer to the startup issue. I think this is being caused by Windows security preventing access to the files simply because they have been downloaded from the web.
You should be able to right-click the .dll files causing the problems, selecting Properties, then clicking the Unblock button. It should work fine after that but any feedback on this would be appreciated.

Indeed, the startup problem is resolved "unblocking" every .dll in the EveHQ folder. |

I've you want to wait it out a bit to see if Quantix answer after a couple of days. I have webspace available that supports all the needed weblanguages. I can give you instant access to it and probably can change the adress without any problem. |

grate thanks

You should be able to right-click the .dll files causing the problems, selecting Properties, then clicking the Unblock button. It should work fine after that but any feedback on this would be appreciated.
Indeed, the startup problem is resolved "unblocking" every .dll in the EveHQ folder.
Confirming. Thanks!
edit: OMFG the Prism asset viewer is fixed. No longer need to stare at biomass button. |

Tried it out today, works fine, didn't play much around with the Fitter, I'll just assume it works :P
Played around with some other tools though and put up 2 issues on your bitbucket.
Awesome work though :) |

I'll see if I can find out more details on the error to confirm.

ok played with it a bit. found no problems.
fitter seems to be ok but be warned the implants changed names and wont carry from old save. it just says implant xxxxxxx not found and then removes it from the saved set (empty slot) make sure you remeber what its new name is now to fix this.
apart from that little hickup it works fine.
i used tha asset viewer and it works fine aswell as the skill cue planner.
thanks for keeping this tool going. |

Thanks for the feedback. The implant name change issue has been present ever since the first version of HQF and I should really find a better way of storing them (i.e. use IDs instead of names).

There should be a implant group filter in the implant manager that essentially does the same thing.

any chance the implants could be added to the item lists for the HQF as that would really help figuring out the prices for them. The item drop downs are all there in the top right section but none actually show up in the module list in the bottom right section. |
