I'm a fairly new player to the game, so I may be a little slow on understanding this thread. I may fit one of the offenses complained about here, though.
Now, from reading this endless thread, I see 3 distinct and reoccurring complaints:
1. There are people using techniques and software to AFK mine. 2. There are people selling ISK in RL. (related to problem #1). 3. There are people who prefer solo play to running around and shooting everyone.
What I don't get is this- Who the **** cares? Isn't EVE's appeal that it is a persistent alternate reality? You got here to get away from RL? Away from your mindless job or whatever? It sounds like some people here want to force people to conform to their preferred gameplay (ie: PVP). Why? Is there a shortage of people to shoot at in low sec? Or is it just getting harder? I'm still a "noob" and I know how long I would have stuck around this game if this stupid "war-dec" idea was in place. I spend my first few days busting butt to afford a decent ship just to get it wiped out by vastly superior players. Or being forced to join a corp and be told what to train, what to do, and kick up a large percentage of everything I make to the man. Are you kidding me? What is your thought process on these ideas? You would have no new players, CCP would get no new revenue, and you "old hats" would be stuck playing the current game forever devoid of new and interesting expansions because there would be no funding for it. My rant aside, I think spammers, isk farming and macroers suck and it is a form of cheating and is not fair. But, from what I gather in my limited experience, EVE is not about being fair. Just balanced (arguably). People pirate, swindle, and gank. That isn't fair, but it is EVE. It isn't perfect, but maybe you wouldn't like it if it was. What am I suggesting? Quit whining and deal with it. If you want to PVP, go to low sec. If you don't, stay in high sec. If you are in love with mining and you're ****ed because some micros cleaned your "special" home system, go find another one. Please let me know if I am way off target here. That's life. Not real life. Just EVE life.
