Now I don't know if its just me, but I sure get the impression the vast majority of you people go to work and are on these forums pretty much all day. Now, I get this impression for multiple reasons. 1.) Every WTB and WTS post (in their proper forum channels ofcourse) is first responded to in a matter of minutes from posting with a response that goes something like... "I have what your looking for and will contact you in game when I get home from work later" and "I'll contact you with an offer when I get home in a bit" respectively. 2.) There are those of you who seem to post on the forums non-stop day in and day out. Now I can understand posting all day for a day or two on you days off while playing Eve (ofcourse) but many of yalls habits can not be explain as suched. 3.) Its Eve and I know how addictive it is. Forums included. Also, it fits in nicely with my personnal belief in the intentional gradual decrease in productiveness for society as a whole. But thats a whole other discussion. So, anywayz, my question to all of you forum goers is.... Do you surf these forums while at work? ** So, I like mining, whats the big deal? **

No. They track all internet activity though every computer in the company, including anything looked at via VPN or whatever. I tried it once to see what would happen. Got a nice e-mail from IT mentioning my visit to eve-online.com, when and for how long I was on. Last time I ever did that. ---

I don't work anymore as I'm focusing on school. But by *focus* I guess I really mean PLAYING Eve during class... What a horrible habit I know. I was lucky last semester and got excellent grades (it was one of my best semesters ever) but I decided I have to focus this semester. The browsing of forums? Yeah, I'm guilty of that as well. Laptops are a wonderful yet horrible thing... I'm trying to stop myself from connecting to the network in class now. (Although it's hard as lecture notes are posted online before class too) lol. I would even consider writting a script for it which automatically visits a few websites every now and then. So you don't like your job to much, eh? I'm wondering what work environment you are all in. I myself am working/commuting 12hrs a day in a bank's headoffice with some 600 people over there. Not one of them would have the time to significantly contribute to a forum, I definitly don't. For me it will become worse in future since I'll step up the ladder some steps will do a lot of travelling around Europe, Middle East and Africa. Then I'll repeatedly hardly be able to log on a forum even after work. Juwi

The funny thing is I can play EVE at work, but the forums are blocked by proxy. Rather interesting choice of priorities, eh? At work, I only play EVE to keep my skills training going. I'm much more of a forum junkie here than when I am at home. Oh, I installed a modem in my work pc so I can access the forums through a dial-up ISP. It really pays to be the local fix-it guy sometimes. Sometimes, it really is dial-up ftw. :)

I'm lucky to work in a place where the eve forums are on quota but not totally outright banned. However, posting is banned, so that has to wait in the evenings. I amaze myself by how much I read on those forums - there is always something to learn. -- Saul Thrace

Heh Security Concierge officer here aka i sit at a desk, issue passes to visitors, make sure noone mucks up then surf these forums when nuthin be happening. Pity i cant convince the sys admin to install eve on mah work puter, least then i would be able to do the slow stuff (like mining) at work and actually get into pvp when i am at home As it is, he had to show me a way to get to the forums without going via the main page since that was blocked about 6 months ago. anyways back to forum lurking i go :-P

You can use Eve-Search.com and by double clicking on one of the posts after you search it brings you to the forums.... its great But... alas I see I was right. ** So, I like mining, whats the big deal? **
