Is, as some people have been reading it, the ban just on using them for PvP, or is it a ban on using them for PvP or PvE? And if as I suspect it's supposed to be the latter, what other, non-combat uses do CCP think they have? Is there a difference between "don't use them for combat" and "don't use them at all"? I hate ambiguity, and doubly so when it risks getting me banned :P
(Yes, I'm aware that the safest option is "don't use them at all" and that's what I'm doing, but I'm currently buried somewhere it's non-trivial to get replacements and I'm only carrying Wasps because I need a set of heavy kinetic drones...)

Combat- to engage with force.
That means players and NPCs, and the devs have said several times that its a total ban against using wasps.
As long as you don't use them to shoot something, it doesn't matter if you have them, however.

So when jumping into a mission... and NPC agro you.. then it will be purely defence ;) and not an engagement

devs disable wasps totally until u get around to fixing em oh say 2007.

I don't go into GD generally, and for the literal-minded the news item is ambiguous, hence this thread.

I am VERY literally minded, it is not ambiguous in the least.
Combat is combat. And they said no Wasp use in combat. I don't see how anyone could confuse this.

Then why didn't they just say "you can't use wasps at all"? Why specify "combat"? What else would you be using them for?

Do not have any wasp in your dronebay ever for what ever reason until bug is fixed!

It means that you can have them, show them off, build them, sell them, buy them, but just not shoot anyone with them.
