Cyvok (Obviously)
for FC's:
MexicanFX - clear, decisive command. no messing around. Angelus X - haven't seen FC for a while but was very good during the north op's.

The original post was for a great leader, not specifically a great fleet commander.
If you want to put it in simpler terms with regards ASCN... they faced their biggest challenge to date from a full attack by G and Iron and Cyvok led them to victory by remaining undefeated at the end of it (in terms of them holding their territory and seeing the enemy having to pull out).
Many could see that as the mark of a great leader.
Personally I prefer to play with amazing fc's as leaders but I can respect their views.

FCs- Slothe (for not giving a sheet), Naphtalia (purely for shoutiness) and either JJ or Tr4xx. Boss: Zzz, for putting up with stuff and making other stuff happen. Oh, and for bribing us with a good party
Yup, I'm just another happy lil MLM fanboi Gin is my co-pilot.

Yes this post was about leading, but ppl start to name FCs, so i just share my point of view with u fellow readers.
IMO ASCN is nothing more then a huge alliance with some corp that would kill their mom to get near archonor/BS spawns. But that seems to fit a lot of those huge alliaces with more then 15 corps in it.
And about Cyvok dunno much about him but he used to sit in VNG a lot, so he seems to be quiet busy organizing outpost #82.

Don't follow everyone who posts off-topic ;)
Especially when you quantify your own argument by stating that Cyvok is busy organising outpost #82.
Again, some people might think that the organisation needed to construct outpost #82 was pretty impressive.
I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with that point but playing devils advocate with you :P
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and flaming someone because someone else said they were good in a thread like this is just silly ;)

There are no good leaders in eve. Only headless chickens squashed in a pen with nowhere to run. If you cant think for yourself, get out of the game.

there are people that like to work *gasp* together for a common goal. Or is that to big for you head to fathom? You'd be suprised what enterprising people follow in the path of good leaders. And good leaders are only as good as their followers are aswell.
A mastermind trying to make headless chickens do something other then just running around is not gonna get very far...

I ask you: IF Cyvok would ever enter in any kind of fleetbattle, would he ever even had the chance to fire a single shot? ("OMG THERE'S CYVOK! CYVOK IS PRIMARY!")
Again not trying to flame here or nothing, and I never say Cyvok leading a fleet into the battle (don't care about that tbh), BUT you can be damn sure that in terms of administration and stuff, I am still to find someone in EVE that can do better than him.
If you rate leadership by leading glorious fleets into the battle, ok, Cyvok is not that kind of leader. BUT if you rate leadership by someone who can grab in a bunch of corps, give them a reason to fight for their ground, to acomplish greater things than simple mindless slugfests at 60km range, to inspire that same bunch of corps to build a totally player-driven empire back in the bonies far from the safety of empire, then I belive that there are very few people in EVE that can compare to Cyvok.
...but hey.. that's just my opinion ----------------

That's why most well-known CEO's and FC's have pvp alts, isnt it ? :F

So u got my point, "posting XYZ is great leader" is pointless, but giving reason why he is a good leader makes it clear, even for little drones like me.
And i do respect Cyvok abilities in organizing, cause when u have build 82 outposts u must be kind of genius.

CYVOK might not be the best FC but He his one of the greatest Leader, he took ASCN and he a short time made it capable of amazing things!
Same as the americans in the world war II, What was really amazing was the speed with which the Americans adapted themselves to modern warfare. Starting from scratch an army has been crafted in the very minimum of time, which, in equipment, armament and organization of all arms, surpasses anything the world has yet seen.

Edited by: Ulendar on 25/01/2006 12:54:35 Edited by: Ulendar on 25/01/2006 12:51:11 I was with these corps on a different account over a year ago (ask me ingame if you like), so in no particular order:
Drunkenmaster in Space Invaders - fun, helping each other out, great guys he kept together (til they disbanded ofc) - was one corp in a million. Sadly never met Setec though >_<
SirMolle, Evolution: Not even getting to their pvp skills, the fact that he keeps a corp with the structure of Evol together is more than amazing if you think about it. Quality. Probably closest to finding the "I win Eve button". Real life got the best of me though and I had to leave Eve shortly after joining Evol. *******s. Oh well, keep it up guys.
Noob Scriptor, Atuk: From a gaming experience, on par with Evolution. You guys let me join when I was about to quit Eve out of pure frustration, and that alone puts this corp to the very top in my book.
XirtamVotf back in the old CA days: funniest old fart I ever talked to ^^. And if I am allowed to go a bit ooc: forget the darklord ****zle, as an alliance leader he was the man, no more, no less.
And as of late, the ceo of the Xelas corp M8s I recently joined, Yitro. He has a solid idea where to take the corp, is a great person to talk to, quick to reply to issues etc ... all of these traits and the corp itself, when a buddy kept squabbling about it, made me come back to Eve in the first place. Expecting not much really, I found out he was right.
Originally by: cashman It's time for Eris to get a clue. CCP should make a statement about this.
It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

In 8 years of online gaming I've rarely met a field commander as competent or professional as Hellcore. I would follow him into any fight and count myself priviledged to do so.
