Due to several small issues during deployment, downtime for EVE Online: Odyssey 1.1 will be extended beyond the original uptime of 10:40 UTC.
We currently have no ETA for bringing Tranquility back online, however we will update this forum thread with further information as it becomes available.
We apologize for any inconvenience this extended downtime may cause.
UPDATE - 10:40 UTC - We are currently investigating issues with the Tranquility cluster.

Its funny that when i initially saw them say the whole process would take 40 minutes, i laughed inside.
Also nice to note, is they wait till 7 minutes after deadline before they think to inform the community they will not be up before the deadline.
CCP, why can't you learn from Scotty, always give a longer time, that way you look awesome! Yet you never learn, and always have to extend your up-time ETA 3-5 times EVERY patch. Why not just learn from your own failed past and stop trying to be so bloody optimistic.

LOL! Just say we expect downtime to be 2 hours when you think it will only take 40 minutes... Good customer service means setting the 'right' expectations. Its better to over estimate than under estimate. Also why not make it fair and schedule some deployments during other time zones peak times? I seem to see a pattern of discrimination here.

Yes, macs have a quantum tunneling application that provides you with the patch direct from CCP's servers. Its why they extended the downtime, they're trying to work out where the source data went. |

You have your skill que for atleast 3-4 days right? There have been patches that took THAT long before....now...where'd my ini themed boots go?
Also, Falcon, you might want to start adding timestamps that are current to your updates...it makes it look worse when you wait 10 minutes to post an update for something, then use the timestamp from when you did the action...10 minutes ago

I personally don't worry about down time on Eve... its is the fastest, smoothiest, and best run service in gaming. I love the trickle effect of constant updates on the game. It works |

I did, it didn't install, and after closing and restarting the launcher I now get a new patch download which is 751 MB in size.
So no, it's probably not wise to download before TQ is up for real... but I'm unusually impatient today

Try the repair tool and start EvE using the exe from your CCP folder, avoid the launcher whenever possible as it's always been terrible. |

Mine stuck on 3/4 as well.
I suspect it's because the repair tool asks to run as Administrator, and can thus make changes to your Program Files, whereas the launcher doesn't. I can't be arsed to run the launcher in Admin mode to find out though. |

The only reason I use the Launcher is for patches. Otherwise, the link on my desktop and Steam Other Games leads to EXEfile. This is the first time I've had a problem with downloading a patch. |

I had problems after event in 02.09.2013. When CCP servers was under attack and have got unexpected offline. After that I can not launch the client. Then I use repair tool. Nothing. Then I reinstall the client. Launcher can not get patch. Then I have loaded 2 last pay loads for oflline installing. Now try to install again client. Think the answer may be we can see in that CCP have got attack on the servers and CCP have released new patch on the next day. 2 events may be maked the problems for normal working of servers of CCP. |

How does this pass quality control?
Maybe, just maybe, you might want to listen to the portion of your sub base that said the launcher was awful when you introduced it, was awful after a couple months of using it, and are still finding new levels of awfulness with it.
And this coming from a guy who had the shortcut installed to avoid the pain I am going through now.

My launcher halted at APPLYING EVE_ONLINE_590158-598940_WIN.PATCH: 0.0% on first attempt waited over an hour while AFK running errands. Then read forum posts looking for any recent Dev Advice. Unhelpful rants and recommendation to restart launcher so I restarted and opened a Ticket. Big mistake! After re-downloading again still stuck at (3/4): APPLYING EVE_ONLINE_590158-598940_WIN.PATCH: 0.0% for over 30 min.
So apparently the only fix is the repair tool since I can see from other users that works. Fingers crossed. been trying to get on for over 3 hours. |

I'm in the same boat as you mate, Trying again after running rep tool for 3rd time.
Do us a favour CCP, bring back the loverly arty login screen, we miss it and the new launcher, tho not sucky, stinks if it causes this much grief. |

I also have not fun after one day of trying to launch client. So run and run near PC and try to find the way to launch client with new patch now. |

As others have posted, Downloaded patch via launcher and got stuck on 3/4.
I restarted the launcher, it redownloaded and now 3/4 seems to be going through.
If it doesn't i'll switch to the repair tool. |

here's what do the job for me ...
- download the 764mb patch files from:
http://content.eveonline.com/598940/EVE_Online_590158-598940_win.zip (yes, u can use IDM )
- extract to game folder
- dont forget to delete the almost identical name ( i think it has .download in it)
- start launcher, after it reach 50%, it will download the 751MB part.
- after the download finished ( u can see the patch file becomes 1,5gb). it will apply patch.
- smooth as silk to 100%
I cant say that my method is 100% bulletproof, but that's what work for me who uses limited bandwith and 3g quota. |

i dont understand, surely this means your downloading twice as much????
is there a way i can download this without using my eve pc? - ie just get the patch.
i use my eve pc via a mobile phone contract, and i want to ask a friend to get the patch for me,
can i do this?

You could have your friend just install the EVE client and patch it up, then copy the whole thing to an external hard drive. The client itself doesn't need you to log in to patch via the loader, and it may be useful to have it installed on your friends computer anyway.
