As already pointed out, the idea was to allow you to jump at a time other than the beginning of a game session assuming you play the same time each day. If a reason to jumpclone comes up half way through a 3 hr session, you can do it knowing you can log in the next day on a play time schedule and jump back. No waiting. If you play for more than 5 hrs at a time, you have issues. CCP shouldn't be enabling that. |

the skill wouldnt be worth it to me unless it was 2 hrs per skill level. Thoughts?
I log off at around 10pm sometimes 11pm after a night of roaming and decide that tomorrow I want to go back to highsec to address my PI I have there, maybe hit the shops to prepare a contract to bring more ships out to null, etc.
Now since for some reason my jc timer does not come off until 8pm (maybe it was a CTA or I used a jc to xfer stuff, who knows) I obviously do not want to log on around 530pm and wait until 8pm in order to use my JC.
So I skilled up Advanced Infomorph Psychology to shave some hours off my jc timer, go to bed, wake up and go to work, get home and boom! my jc is available for jump.
This is a good thing.
Another instance...
You are using your boosting clone for some other op, and you have a pos you put into reinforce after a big fight, and in 24 hours that tower comes out of RF and you want to be ready. Obviously you don't want to wait until you're in place to swap clones, so a few levels of Adv IP will allow you time to finish your op and the next day swap clones and be READY for that 24 hr period.

Since I started playing eve, using a jump clone has essentially been declaring that you won't be back in the old clone for two days.
Given that the timer is 24 hours, that's a little unintuitive, so I see why the OP wouldn't understand.
However, if you jump cloned at the end of each play session, your sleep schedule and life would have to revolve around eve:
Play til 8, jump clone out, next day jump clone back down at 8, play til 12, etc. etc.
With the skill trained to IV, you can get a 4-hour play session each day at the same time, and still be able to sit in your JC the rest of the time. |

Based on a locked thread I just saw, CCP has decided to buff Goons. Sorry. This is the rule:-á In Eve it's always a trick. If you don't think it's a trick, you just don't have enough experience to know what the trick is. That doesn't mean you shouldn't launch on that fool anyway and roll the dice. |

It wasn't that bad of a post, I don't know why you guys are dogpiling on OP. Goons have feelings too, right? I think that's more or less a pretty safe assumption. |

now i see how the synchronization skill helps. It gives you a little flexibility on when in your play session you do the jump.
more interestingly Ive now seen why people post with alts. half this thread was **** on with goon rage. |

I'm not certain of that. Maybe their new renting ambitions could be extended to include some of their rank and file personal? If so we could rent some as lab rats and run tests.. |

I kinda like it, while it still just once a day I don't have to wait until like late night if I happened to do a jump before going to bed, I can usually just do the jump when getting home from work (I mean earlier everyone knows I'm not allowed outside).

I just saw a test where they put spiders on various types of drugs and made note of the changes in their webs afterwards.
It's amazing how screwed up a spider gets on simple caffeine. A normally symmetrical web turns into something Picasso would be proud of. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

the skill wouldnt be worth it to me unless it was 2 hrs per skill level. Thoughts? Actually, given how many pilots actually jump clones for any significant reason -- the main one being able to "commute" to some distant part of Null from Jita or some other significant location in Empire -- the skill is largely pointless to the vast number of players. Even then, most don't jump so frequently in the first place to warrant training the skill. Would have been better off with " Advanced Parallel Parking for Shuttles"... or " Synchronized Pod Spinning"... I dunno about you, but I clone-jump to change implant sets. A few hours extra is kinda nice when I want to change the body I'm wearing for something a bit smarter after a round of combat roaming. |

For us busy people, the point is to help ensure that you DO get to jump at least once a day.
For example, some of us maybe only get to play for about an hour or two around the same time each day. If I jump clone at the end of that play time, and then the next day my RL schedule makes me move things an hour up, I miss a whole day of jumping.
Now with the ability to have a 19hr jump schedule, if my RL schedule shifts by an hour or two, I can still take advantage and jump my clone. I think most people fall within this margin and CCP decided correctly that it was a good balance between giving a little and not making the timer useless all together.
TL:DR - It's not always about you. Why can't you just be happy they reduced it instead of doing nothing. Primary Test Subject GÇó SmackTalker Elite |
