Important Announcement This morning we have been investigating a number of account hack attempts. 57 accounts were compromised and as a result, we started full investigation and lockdown procedures. This culminated in the lockdown of Tranquility during downtime until we had finished our investigation.
As a preventive measure, to ensure account security, we have reset passwords and will send out an email to selected accounts and ask them to change their passwords. At the same time, we would like to remind all our customers to never give out their passwords and regularly change them in account management. Remember, we will never ask you for your password.
We want to emphasize that we do not store billing information, the only risk was concerning password usage and subsequent abuse of the accounts in question.
We thank you for your patience in this matter and deeply apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.
Note: If your password has been reset and your email hasn't arrived yet, you can manually reset your password again through account management. Reset password emails should now arrive instantly.
THE EMAILS: If you haven't recieved an email or account management say that either your email or username was incorrect, you are requesting the password to be sent to an account which does not match the email registered on the account!
Most frequently asked question : My account was reset, was it compromised?
No, this was the preventive measure taken to ensure account security.
Second most frequently asked question : I've been waiting hours for my password reset/manual reset email.
Our mailing capacity has been massively increased, manual reset emails should be instantaneous now. If you haven't recieved the initial password reset email and you can't log in, you either have another email registered on the account, the email has been filtered as spam or our email has your email server blacklisted or of course vice versa.
Third most frequently asked question: I only have one account, so I can't post on forums for help or submit petitions.
You do not need a working account to contact customer support. The email and password asked for in "Ask a Question" is only for that specifically so that you can follow the petition via the web and respond via the web. As stated in mass correspondance with Customer Support, it will compensate for the time lost if your password case is taking a day or more.
Fourth most frequently asked question: The GM's don't like me, the bastards haven't answered my support email for 24 hours.
First, check your spam folder. Second, use "Ask a Question, it allows you to track the mail and see what GM has it and where it's located in the process. Third, the GM's really do love you and they are working 24 hours a day on overtime shifts to get this sorted out. Senior Producer EVE Online

So, how long is the backlog for the support staff getting back to my case? Been like 3 days now since I contacted them about my other account and whoevers database not accepting the only two email addresses I have for the password reset thing.

5th question :D
i did start the ask a question sequance and everything went oke so in the end i get a e-mail from support saying that the e-mail adress on the account is changed to the 1 i wanted.
i try request a new password for that account with the new e-mail and it says error account name and e-mail dont match
so i updated my question again to fix it still dint hear anythin .. not even a automated mail.

good to hear things are picking up. but the emails arent instantanious yet, i requested a new PW an hour ago, nothing yet. but hey if i receive it within 10 hours at least things will have picked up considerably.

Start of my 4th day and still just getting automated emails from ccp. Im trying to change my email to the new one so i can get a new password and im doing it thu the website under billing etc. I have given all my information and im still waiting. I wouldnt be starting to get upset if my main account was still training. Is this normal ? Last thing im going to check. Are you in the spam folder. BRB

well my point is dont send the e-mail out that u can retrieve ure password and then that ppl get the error that the account and e-mail dont match cuz i was realy happy for the couple seconds it lasted...

When you update it you are not bothered with an automated reply, it updates the original case submitted and gets priority. Senior Producer EVE Online

As one of my accounts WAS compromised and another one has been inaccessible till last nite I'd ask u to tell your customer support staff: Thx a lot and well done, appreciate the help. 
But what I really need to know, how did that ebil hacker get into my account? Login has nothing to do with char name and the pw was alphanumerical and not easy or short.

no info yet on my 2 logged out acounts... now ccp i have 10 acounts.. if those 2 arent opend within this week.. i will close all 10.. i know it aint much but this is starting to be more than insane... all i get from u is some **** auto crap i cant use for anything.. you have all my detailes now work to get me online again.. the only thing i can do as a customer is to tell my bank not to pay any "isk" to you if this keep on going like this... im getting very upset because of the auto respoonses that you spam my hotmail with.. the same msg ower and ower again... we need this and this to activate your acount.. well i allready provided you with the info.. dont ask me to send confidentil materiel to u guys ower and ower again..

Same here. I only have 2 Accounts, but if I recieve the same e-mail asking for the SAME details which I have already sent, I'll tell the GM where to shove it... this is REALLY beginning to get on my nerves.
I DONOT want a confirmation about what is been done to help me, I donot want an auto responce everytime I reply. Just get the job done and stop spamming the same mails asking for the same crap over and over again.
ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS LOOK AT THE INFO I'VE PROVIDED, VERIFY IT, AND CHANGE MY E-MAIL ADDRESS... WHERE IS THE PROBLEM?!

I'm sorry, we can under no circustances disclose details on incidents like this, the reasons being both practical and legal. All I can say is we over-reacted to be on the safe side, by resetting thousands of passwords. We considered the ramifications of such action to be justifiable to protect any future compromisation. My personal apologies to you both, but as I stated we're doing everything we can to speed up the process.
If you recieved multiple emails, that means you have either submitted multiple incidents and both were mass replied to or another GM mistakenly sent you twice.
If an answer had been sent to us in the meantime, that would not have been taken into consideration by the mass mailer. Senior Producer EVE Online

(In this situation, the organisation is not obliged to grant your request unless the other person has consented to their information being disclosed, or it is reasonable in the circumstance to answer the request without their consent.)

then UK law states you have to answer the question. You are a holder of information, and as such must comply with the law.
Under the terms of the Data Protection Act, you have a legal duty to ensure the security of our information. Our username and password not only give access to the game but also to our account information. This is sensitive data collected by a 'for-profit' organisation. As such it falls under the juristriction of the above cited act.
The current stance of CCP implies guilt, even if that is not the case. To someone on the outside it looks like a company trying to cover-up not for practical or legal reasons, but to avoid blame. Claims that it is to protect CCP in the future further leads to the impression that it was CCP who were compromised.
We would like to know if our systems are secure. We have a legal right to know if yours are.
Time to reconsider?

Oveur, congrats to everyone at CCP for taking the necessary steps to protect us. For many of us though the million dollar question which remains is: Is my account now safe or does the threat still exist? I know that no system can be 100% proof but in respect of this specific instance, has the threat been mitigated? We know that you can't go into detail but a lot of us are just looking for some reassuring words really.

What do you mean...please clarify !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If your password has been changed and your e-mail address doesn't match the one in the account management files you get an error message saying it doesn't match.
Then you can go here and ask people to update the e-mail address on your account. They will ask some questions to verify you are the owner of the account though, these questions include the last 6 digits of a creditcard and a bit more ( if you used one).
This will update the e-mail address that is listed under your account information.
Here you can manually ask for a new password if that has been reset or you have forgotten it. You see your e-mail address is required to have it sent to you. If the system says your e-mail address doesn't match your account name then please reread my post from the top.
If you have further questions feel free to ask them here as I assume many others will have the same problem.
Dont worry though all will be fine

like i stated above alrdy ive done all this and i even got a conformation from customer support yesterday 18.00 that the email has been changed BUT when i try to retreive password it says account name and e-mail aint a match how can this happen since i got a e-mail confirming u guys changed the email on the account .
im starting to get realy paranoid now

I'd like to point out that until I got my password (Sunday night at 23:45 or 60 hrs after the start of this incident) I received NO GM contact whatsoever... including none to my petition for a password reset using the 'ask a question' you mention above. How ever busy GMs can be that's poor customer support. From the looks of it I received the automated password change I had submitted Saturday morning at 1 AM... and am still waiting for the first password link sent on Friday (have to at that).
I think what frustrates us customers more then anything is the apparent lack of attention of the GMs. Granted its percieved lack of attention and perhaps they are working their ass off... But the end result for some of us is the impression that GMs don't do anything at all (my case) or that they blindly reply with automated messages over and over (the case of other posters above). Either way its not 2-3 isolated cases. The 28 pages thread that was here over the weekend (and quietly deleted) points to a wider problem.
On another note, once I changed my password ... and then rechanged it to something I'll remember for added security I was MAILED in PLAIN TEXT my password to my yahoo.com email along with my login name. Is that intended ??? A plain text email with both my password and username ? just highlighting this as it doesn't strike me as hugely secure... but I may be wrong in which case ignore this comment.
Thank you nonetheless for updating us. and I'd like to reitterate what I said in another post that seems to have dissapeared, Kuddos to Eris for keeping us updated all weekend with as much info as possible and replying directly & quickly to our mails.

Pls dont tell us crap, what legal reasons you mean?Dont tell me that you cant say that our servers get attacked (or small part of db was stolen or somethin),so we can calm down,quit panic coz our PCs are fine. Is it really that much?!
2nd what practical? 1st attackers knew how they did it and 2nd its useless for anyone else coz you fixing or fixed this hole so this info have no value to anyone with bad intentions any longer. It will just make us,your customers happy

Cant you check your own PC to see if it was hacked or compromised? And why are you so surprised ccp cant give out the details about what happend? I doubt they withold the info just to go 'neener neener we know what happend and you dont'. CCP doesn't strike me as a compagny who would do that so I trust there is a good reason for it legal & practical.
Hindsight is better then forsight and I rather have ccp taking extreme measures by resetting passwords then saying nothing and see how many accounts get compromised.
Seems to me biggest problems people had were the people who didnt update their e-mail addies on their account anyway ( and slow e-mails which is/was a problem)

I can only advise you to contact customer support again after trying your old e-mail address and the new one that should have been updated. Also make sure you write it correctly (minding case sensitivity and that there isn't an open space at the start. That happends to me all the time that when I copy paste something it leave an open space at the start and then it doesn't work).
No reason to become paranoid about this though.

I doubt they withold the info just to go 'neener neener we know what happend and you dont'. CCP doesn't strike me as a compagny who would do that so I trust there is a good reason for it legal & practical.
Hindsight is better then forsight and I rather have ccp taking extreme measures by resetting passwords then saying nothing and see how many accounts get compromised.
Seems to me biggest problems people had were the people who didnt update their e-mail addies on their account anyway ( and slow e-mails which is/was a problem)
well i can,but you know how long it takes av/spy/malware and other software to update their db after threat is found? So i think,that you could easily some stuff download from eve site,and your software doesnt recognize it(just an example)
biggest problem is unupdated emails?i would go that critical were few posts stated that their account get raided after pass change.
And i dont want from them to tell us all details,how they break into their system,but just basic info,and dont tell me that some basic stuff can harm someone in any way

And here's a thought...supposing someone who's account is now disabled wanted to cancel the account, and it got renewed whilst they couldn't access it...would CCP do the decent thing and refund their money?
And a related question...if I want to cancel MY account, but I'm paying yearly, if I cancel it when there are still some months paid in advance, do I still get to play that time or does it turn off straight away?

Dear CCP Customer Support Team,
This weekend i was ready to line up with the rest of the angry mob scanting ''to hell with custommer support'' because of PW reset issues. I am no IT-Expert as most of you on this forum apear to be and the only thing which kept me from writing flame and hate mails on this topic is my limited IT knowledge (but let's assume the worst forum entries about lacking customer service just met up with my point of view). This morning I contacted my mail server provider because not only CCP mails were not showing up but not even the usual spam mails came trough. The provider of my mail server (in this case my brother in law) told me the fault of missing mails was on his side because he simply forgot to clear the spam folder of his mail server as soon as the folder was cleared everthing went smooth again and i could get my new pw and log in with my one and only account( please noble IT experts on this forum don't start flaming me for not using the precise vocabulary on this technical issues -i simply don't know better) I hereby humbly appologize for all bad feelings and silent accusations i had in store for Eve Customer support-Keep up your good work.

I finally got my main account sorted. And for that I'm truly thankful.
Unfortunately, I will not be applauding the way it was handled. All I can offer is my advice, which is this: Remove the bog standard replys when you update the petitions with information, because it gets REALLY annoying after 3 days of waiting for a PROPER responce. Keeping the first one there to acknowledge that its been recorded is fine.

It just struck me that I DO have an alternative email that I use for some things...gaming being one of them.
I am very, VERY sorry for pointing the finger, but I was SO sure I'd used the main email address...
...and given that when I'd remembered this I got me account sorted in about 30 seconds flat, I hereby withdraw all requests for compensation too.

I agree, no details need be disclosed. But it would be VERY nice if you could answer the very basic question; Was the security breach client side or server side ?
A friend of mine was hit HARD by this, and it was indicated to him by CCP personell that this was a client side issue. He was a paranoid security buff already... guess what this did to him and others around him.
If the problem is server side, he wont have to worry (and I wont have to worry)... there is nothing we can do, im sure it will/is already fixed.

PLEASE, is it possible for me to get a contact number, or set up a one on one, human conversation with someone, anyone, at CCP who can just help me get this resolved. I'm prepared to answer whatever questions you need to verify my ID and my current e-mail so that I can get my account back online.
I've gone 40+ hours without training a skill, and I'm still paying on this account, thanks to a mistake in your database security.
I've been patient and tried to remain calm but now I'm really starting to get angry. I've been a loyal customer, and I want to know what CCP intends to do to make this right with me?
Am I being out of line, or am I asking for too much? Please restore my faith and help me get this resolved.

I still can't log in on one of my accounts. I did finally get an e-mail telling me what info I need to provide to get the account back...
lets be real here...
1. Your old, currently registered and inactive e-mail address.
( I stated clearly in the original complaint that none of my e-mails, past or present were recognized so obviously I have no clue what e-mail to put here )
2. Your current active and working e-mail address, for us to register to your account.
( hows about the one I sent the complaint in on, that would work )
3. The last six digits and expiration date on your registered credit card's number, if your account is paid for with a credit card.
( I have 3 accounts split over several cards. I should maybe send you the numbers for all of them? Don't think so )
4. The cd-key registered to your account if your account was registered with a game box cd-key.
( yeah, right... I'm supposed to remember which key goes to which account over a 3 year period on the off chance yer gonna nuke my account. Finding the boxes alone could take a month. )
5. Any additional information you have, for example birthday, address and location registered to the account if the above does not apply to your account.
Wouldn't it be sooooo much easier to just reset my password back to what it was and say "pls change yer password for your own security immediately upon loging in, KKTHX"
I promise I'll change it, honest.

Any luck on any of this Scip? I'm in the same boat. I honestly wouldn't have a problem with the time spent out of game, if only I was presented with some sort of information that indicates where the GMs are in the queue, or if there was something wrong with finding the information presented in my request. Right now I just feel left in the dark...
I really do understand the load...just starting to get a little concerned at this point.

But now an other issue. Do i feel safe on eve. I do not think every time the feelling that i get is that someone can break in too my account on eve. Just too steal some isk.
Or worse... You may fill this in yourself...
I have my doubts will eve for the subscriber save again. Or will there again been an attempt too hack your account in the future. Still shivers from last time. Like someone broke in your house will your where at home. And broke open your safe.

No nothing as of yet. I am hoping to get some kind of reply today, hopefully a notification that my password has been straightened out on my main account. Otherwise I have had no positive interactions with anyone from CCP regarding my issues or an attempt to address them.
My last response from a CCP GM was unsatisfactory as it did not address my issue at all. I just would like to have the opportunity to speak with someone via chat or even a direct e-mail so that I can clearly explain whats wrong and get it fixed. I don't think that's alot to ask for losing what has been over 72 hours without a resolution to my issue.

After 3 days of nothing i decided to Create this tral ACC.
I tried to send a question, but everytime i got one of these: "The email address you provided is already in the database." or
"..bla..bla... due to an internal error"
funny thig, i used one of these Mailadreses to create this Trial. All worked instantly.
Pls sort it out. I want to use my ACC again.

Geez just imagine that ccp would be a bank company and they cant fix the system for 3 days and they still leavin it alive, while money leak still happens.Customers wont get any info of wth is goin on,they just can see how their accounts went blank clear. <i know this is extreme comparison,but still...>

I had a change of email on one of my accounts, i sent it in, with all the details, and the reply i got was:
" Dear *My Name*, *Account user name which is wrong*
You account has been inactive for some time and we have as part of larger preventive security procedures reset your password to:
username: *Wrong username, unless they changed it for some reason?!?* password: *password doesnt work on the new or old useranme*
As this is being sent through unencrypted e-mail, wed like to ask you to proceed directly to our Account Management site "etc..
Now what? Do i have to resend ALL my information through again? Because i still dont have access, and why did they change the user name?!?

well i waited for well since friday to get my acounts back tonight i finaly saw there was mail from ccp. only to find out that i gave em detales about the wrong credit card. now i have more than 1 credit card and gave em the wrong card--- i supose i go all the way back in line now.. i should maybe add the card holder name and adress cant be wrong. also the detailed info about the stuff on the acounts... i know its a security matter but if its that hard call me.. i cant be arsed to let this nightmare go on! i seriously do NOT hope 3 days will go again.. wrong 7 digits PFFF... ill mail u all my cards then u can sort out wich one LOL--- /me sends 3 credit cards info...

I had the same thing as MaxPower just now. The username in the mail was the same as my main, but with an added number at the end. All my accounts work properly still though, with the passwords I changed them to originally.
Looks to me like someone's trying to spoof stuff still, so be careful and doublecheck that stuff in mails you get.

Were a pretty advanced and challenging concept can be used to generate a large income for its developers. Hiring a few knowledgeable programmers, Tech-support, and 1 or 2 quality assurance personnel, CCP was able to bring online one the most graphically-enhanced space games of our era. For those of you who might see the pattern here with the complaints only when things go wrong or us whiners, yes, I said us, I must tell you thatÆs the way they world works. Watch the news; read the newspaper, listen to the radio even, bad news, tragedy, mayhem, crime and corruption all out-shines good-deeds and accomplishments. If they wanted to isolate praises and complaints, they should have made a sticky just for the two. I read so many replies on their behalf about how they were able to nip this hacking attempt in the bud by shutting down the servers. Mostly from you lucky enough to get your accounts back up and running. Well, IÆm still getting the runaround as for a few others and this craps sucks. Other online games have gone through the same situation and this amazes me how unprepared they were. This old/new email crap is just thatà IÆve had the same email for almost 7 years and to say correct emails are a reason for not getting a reply to a single petition is straight bullà Especially when I checked all my old petitions for stuck-in-space, mission reset, stuck-in-pod, rogue sentry guns etc.. TheyÆve asked us for so much info to justify our validity; IÆm beginning to feel it was an inside job. 72+ hours... Sounds like only the beginning of this long snafu.. 
One of my accounts has been locked out this long, and it will probably stay locked out much longer at the going rate of things. The skill that was training should have ended about the time I got back from dinner that night, which is when the petition was originally made (72+ hours ago).
Like others have said, it's probably not that the GM's are slacking off, picking their noses, etc, but that they are overwhelmed and have no one to really help them (or so it seems). Am sure that some of their other support staff, programmers, clerical, other ISD personnel, could probably assist in at least getting all the facts together so that the gm's can look and say "oh yea, s/he should get account back" or "no, s/he is not the right owner". Sadly, this probably isn't the case, and hope I am alive to see my account that is in limbo status finally unlocked.
One of the very troubling things that I have noticed is the almost complete lack of updates. Sure, they created a new thread, provided updates here and there, but nowhere near enough imho. I think it is about time that we start flooding the "help" channel with requests and pestering until we finally "speak" to a GM. Or get banned, or gagged... This has gone on long enough, no matter how well intentioned the reset was (which I agree with).
Have checked the eve support site (where my petition is stored) and it still doesn't have any updates, so my petition e-mail is correct. Haven't received any updates, etc since card info was submitted. Am half tempted to update it with more information, above and beyond what was requested, but am afraid it will just goto the end of the queue. They probably could use pen*s size, hair color, waist size, blood pressure (both before and after this snafu), marital status, basically life history.
Well, good luck to all still waiting.. Live long and prosper, and hopefully you will get better compensation, better than couple "free days" that is...

I keep getting the exact same form letter reply. Probably a half dozen such replies thus far.
I take great care to explain my situation, but they take zero care in even reading what I'm trying to communicate. There's compelling evidence that they just are not reading and giving consideration that is due in my case.
I've tried to calm down. I've tried to apologize for getting hot under the collar the day this happened and for some heated exchanges on this forum.
All to no avail.
I've submitted yet another petition. No. 060110-000103 in case any CCP wonders\cares.

Someone needs to help me here.
My old email used to work to allow myself to post a petition. Now it doesn't!
I never recieved a reply to a petition and now I cannot raise one because on my alt character (this one) my new or old email account doesn't work. I have been trying to get this sorted since Friday and because my new email won't let me send a petition (even though it is current in my account history) I am Screwed.
How do I contact a GM if I can't raise a Petition???????

Hmmmmmmmmaaahaaaa? Well, I didn't get a reset email yet. I got a single response from a GM asking for my entire life history a few days ago, but since then NADA. I'm incident number 060106-002042.
Now, are these "hackers" exploiting a hole in CCP security? Is it phishing? Keyloggers? What? Are they trying to shake them down? Wouldn't suprise me. Might be nice to have more information about exactly what's going on. For instance, it's odd that 3k accounts were reset. Why not all of them? How was it possible for that many to be phished or keylogged - and how would CCP know which ones were keylogged? It can't therefore be phishing or keylogging. It must have been a server exploit - someone has hacked a CCP machine. Are account details spread across multiple servers? If so, that might explain why only some accounts were reset and not others.
I've concluded that dodgy security on one of the servers allowed an attacker to get access to it and get our details from it. CCP know which server it was, so reset the accounts that were stored on that machine. Such information might include email addresses, usernames and passwords, although not credit card information (at least, the last 6 digits might be stored at CCP).
Well, just speculating. Perhaps CCP could give us more information. Their servers are hosted in the UK, therefore they are covered by the UK data protection act. Need I say more?

Two of my four accounts were "reset" originally. They were the two old beta ones the newer ones were fine.
One of them I did get an email on. The other I did not and have no idea what the email was I used in 2003 to set it up.
Anyway I filed the petition and did get an email back asking for life story. I sent it in and GM sent back "we've changed the email to your current one please use forgot password function to get new password".
Problem is the email still shows as "not matching" when I type it in the forgot password box. Apparently it wasn't switched like the GM said.
So I replied it wasn't working. That was Sunday so I figure Wed or Thurs to get a response. Hopefully by then.

They may, or may not be.. Non-EU Airlines seem to be exempt. Anyhow, It's easy to explain why ccp might have pick'd 3k accounts by looking at user combinations ccp doesnt have a key'd software package (like say blizzard products). It's all based on our login name(not public) and password(hopefully not public).
so we do have "in essence" two passwords.. our login name and our password If your login name matches your main characters nick then you have instantly put yourself at more risk (in all fairness you dont know this when you set up the accounts at first so often you use similar names)..
But that one thing alone can show where one of the main filters came from..
At the end of the day however we will never know until ccp tell us if it was, or was not, them.
I want to know if it was them, either through a forum exploit, or a database hack. The main reason I want to know was so I could change my passwords if they had been comprimized.

so i went through all the items of ask a question etcetc. got a update from ccp that my e-mail changed (on sunday)
tried like a 100 times but kept getting error account and e-mail dont match.
so i update the petition with that particular information so after 2 1/2 days i get this reply

No, you lost it because you breached the EULA.
i bought the account for a fee from my friend who quitted eve. and the first charge has been made on my credit card alrdy so i am the owner of the account i payed to play and i payed to be helped at a problem it is my ( and all of ure money) that pay the paychecks of ccp

Petition again, ask for a senior GM, explain your problem IN DETAIL. Be VERY polite and humble (since you/your friend broke the EULA) and you just might get sorted out. Fact is right now GMs good will is your only hope of getting the account back.

I would say I'm not suprised you didn't read the EULA. They are a pain in the ayass, pages and pages of crap that maybe don't make sense to a lot of people - same story all over I.T. 50% of EULA's aren't in any sense legally enforceable and 50% of the remaining 50% of EULA's aren't either (did that make sense?). I never bother reading them!
Anyway, I'm sure you'll get your account back, if you manage to speak to a senior GM. But you might have to wait a rather long time to get it sorted out.

I also think that if it is this guy paying for this character with his credit card and CCP gladly take $ from him for it... it makes it his by all standards... or you think its acceptable that CCP charges you the game fee then mid way through claims its not your account even thought you pay for it and removes it from you ? five days and I still can't access an account.
I got an automated response 2 days ago that basically says "were too busy to read this e-mail, if we don't hear from you again in 48 hrs we'll assume everythings fixed and drop the case"
SO, do I spam them more e-mail to keep them from dropping the case or do I figure there backlogged and will get to the original e-maileve if its > 24 hrs old?

If some hijacked my account when I was on vacation I wouldn't give a damn if they had made a payment or not, I'd expect to get my account back.
That is exactly what CCP propose to do here, give the account to the official owner.

I'd much rather they lock the account so I couldn't access it to play the game I'm paying for or cancel the account I no longer have access to.

isn't that the same thing? Does it really matter weather the account is stolen by a hacker or stolen by ccp? either way the result is the same.

the link in the e-mail can stretch over 2 lines and when it does the 2nd line is "broken" off and does not get read when you click the link.

One of the main complainers in this thread turns out to be using someone elses account, in violation of the EULA, and moans when CCP deny them access to that account. People then jump to the defence of that poster, neglecting to consider the fact that CCP's actions protect legitimate customers.
I get sworn at, insulted and abused for pointing out that CCP's stance is the correct one (because I for one would want my account protected from people claiming it), and then I get my posts deleted.

Wootiflakes I'm thinking, I can log my second account in.
Imagine my suprise when I find out that they reset THIS account's password by mistake, not the one I petitioned on ( which does not even match the cd key / credit card info I provided for verification ).
I'm thinking someones been up way to late staring at "i lost my account" e-mails...
So, I'm herewith designating the last rep to post, that would be eris, as honorary "get them poor blokes another pot of coffee and a bagel/muffin/danish" person...

Lol, this worries me too. I petitioned with this Character, about my main. They might well reset this character instead of the one the petition was about in the first place.

What about us Paybycash people? How can you verify us if something hits the fan? I got no CC and haven't had CD key either.

I'm still waiting for an email.
the system is screwed. Surely there cannot be a backlog still.
I cannot raise a petition using the website and all my in game ones are ignored.
The emails are probbaly going to my old address. but i cannot change then address because I haven't got the password.
This is the worst customer service I have ever recieved. Nearly 1 week and no password. I can't believe everyone just ignores people that cannot resolve their issues. It's just arrogance.
Can someone either email on the new email I have petitioned on in game or............
i really don't know or because you hold all the cards. If I say or i'll quit you don't give a toss about one customer because like i said the arrogance

Click "Ask A Question" on the right hand menu of this site. You can then "petition" it from there. Make sure you put it into the "billing/payment issues" as well as this queue has a priority. Include your character/account name and as much information as you can about the account, such as your date of birth, the last 6 digits of the CC used (if you used one), the old email address, your address, name etc.

the email on this account is active, the password i use to log into the game and the forums. if i type in the password and email into the MY questions page it says
Login Failed The login ID and password combination you provided is invalid. If you believe you may have mistyped either value, use the browser Back button to return to the login page and try again.
If you believe you have forgotten your password, use the browser Back button to return to the login page and request that your password be emailed to you.
if this is my active password and i can log onto the forum, The email is the same as what is in my account.. why doesn't it work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The development staff and GMs are doing everything they can to resolve the situation, please bear with them, as it may take a while to get through all the Emails they recieve.
