Good morning to you gentleman,
A small little minnie was wondering now the content team are back on dynamic content (well, i hope they are, they were meant to be :) ) do we get any word on what went on with the thukkers and the republic, as you know by the threads already on this subject its something people felt strongly about.
Admitedly its a bit past due now, so may not be feasable to do news on it now. But if thats not a do-er, then can we at least know what is meant to have gone on like please? Its digging at us!
Cheers, Khal. -

I could hijack this thread to ask about the Emperor, the Khanid, or Tetrimon, but I'll let it lie.

Let's see. Devs are back from winter break. Now they have to patch the patch. Ship and ammo balancing, anyone? Then there's the second part of RMR end of febuary with followup balancing.
Then they have to prepare Kali for late sommer or early winter ... I think I should try to get a job in Iceland.

Yah, I'll do that right after I've kicked up further fusses over the Emperor, the Providence Pilot, the Gallente President...

Didn't you read the news artice about the exodus of Matari into Gallentean space? Representatives of the Repulic, the Thukker Tribe, the Angels ond other factions involved cannot be reached for comments.

Edited by: Tachy on 01/02/2006 15:22:21 Nebulai got lost while exhumung ancient knowledge about the Thukker Tribe's sudden change of standing.
The story behind the Minmatar Republic got lost too, so its representatives cannot appear because noone knows what was planned, nor are the passwords and logins remembered for the main avatars. The responsible devs prefer building new ships and play around with their new DS complex building toolkit.
Someone must've written down a short summary of what he remembered of what had been planned to support the changes.
Very short version: Criminal activities are on the rise. The Republic does nothing. A few citizens leave the Republic. Now the villains are lost too, so we need a replacement. There's the Thukker Tribe in the general area.
Voila, the promised extremely rocking storline behind the totally illogical change in standings, totally disregarding the past and background stories and the fact that most of the Tribe's agents are deep within their new opponent's space.

It is half a year now that we have been hit over the head with the changes and the promises to get at a nice story for the sudden changes. All we got is a fantastic news article, basically telling us to not ask more questions because someone's priorities lie elsewhere. The news article seems to imply that the change in the criminal elements within the Replublic are already very active. What criminal elements? What illegal activities? Did we miss a few events? It seems someone cannot be bothered keeping their promises or forgot to do the events between ColdWar and the latest news article.
We got the info about the event devs doing ship design, balancing and working on cosmos, mini professions, new mission system, ... on various occasions.
Nebu got lost right after promising to look into it earlier in this thread.
We have the word that the event devs will be back on the storylines right after ColdWar bug fixes, FanFest, new hq, teaching the new devs, RMR, christmas, not(!) blood, but right after Kali ... I think I see a pattern here.
Scientific way of proving something: Get info. Build thesis considering the info you have. Try to prove the thesis to be wrong. Try to get others to prove the thesis to be wrong.
Now, if there's someone out there to prove my thesis wrong, I'll be one happy pilot. At the moment my hope for getting any explanation for the total change is really low. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. Im sorry, but ive read the news article again and I really dont know where your getting all that from at all?
Criminal elements within the republic != Thukkers as they are mainly outside the Republic roaming around in caravans etc. -

Quote:
The report cites increasing unemployment numbers, an ailing economy, and the increased influence of organized crime groups on the Matari population as the primary motivations of the exodus. Additionally, polling in Matari immigrant communities within core Gallente territories revealed that a number of Matari are growing increasingly dissatisfied with the perceived disunity of the Republic's Tribal Council.
The exodus already takes place. That means that the reasons for it aren't new, but grew over time strong enough to make people migrate. What percieved disunity of the Tribal Council? Oh, nobody cared to inform us lowly podpilots. They even forgot to put such important matters on the local news. There have been no news about any problems within the Tribal Council. Actually there haven't been any news. How do the landlubbers percieve a disunity when all 'participants' unitely didn't take any stand on any topic?
There'll be four new bloodlines by the end of this month. We have a boatload of new content. Massive standing changes took place half a year ago. In the summer, we'll have faction wars.
And the devs missed out on all these fantastic hooks for stories? Please tell me they do care with a straight face. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

None of that ties in with what u said earlier.
Now, I dont believe for one minute that the content team dont want to be covering this stuff. I think they would really like too.
What im concerened with is that they are not allowed too and are assigned to other stuff that Oveur thinks is more important. Now thats just a guess, based on previous dev blogs and stuff - I might be rather wrong. But they were meant to come back to this stuff after RMR. But RMR hasn;t been the cleanest release so maybe they got held back to deal with it.
I dunno, which is what im kinda asking at here. Slagging them off however, is hardly a good way to get them to look at this stuff. I wouldnt.
You know why it was put back if you read Gnauton's dev blog, its not the content teams fault they were taken off dynamic content. So shouting at them is hardly going to engender them to your cause.
Id like to know whas appening tho, that would be cool. -

This whole stuff feels more and more like trying to reach your credit card company because someone just ran off with your wallet and you have to listen to elevator music and a lovely female voice telling you to 'please hold the line' for over an hour before you're dropped out of the line.
Where there used to be many small stories left and right leading to mostly working content, we get mostly or even totally broken toys now in untold quantities. Patch notes are missing half the changes, and half the things that made it into them is either missing, outdated or unchanged.
Ship kills leading to faction standing loss instead of corp standing loss is one of the infos where we have no official word on up to now. I think such a change would be worth a line in a patch note, don't you agree?
I am thinking about setting up a pos or four either in low sec Ammatar or Republican space. Once I know where the politics will go, I'll decide. I wont start now because I'd hate to anchor them in an area where I'll go KOS in no time because of the evolving storyline. I loved doing missions and business in Derelik. The unannounced changes to ship kill standing hits nearly made me kos there and there's no way to fix it atm. For the same reason I can't do the fantastic new content cosmos missions. What side to take when there's no info on the sides? The total lack of information is a game stopper for me.
Trying to get any reaction from the event devs is just frustrating, but you know that too. U'K and many others have thrown enough lines towards the event team to build a few games around them. All we got as answers for the past year has been 'soonÖ', 'We promise' and 'We look into it'. We got those earlier too, but often they came back to us and have made the game into what it is. A universe with a living soul, backed up by players and devs. And EVE is loosing a huge part of what it used to be without the living political background. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known.
