@Gothikia:
Good to see others encountered the same problems as I did. (Or not ...) I tried to transfer the Exodus font into the RMR one without luck too. It just doesn't fly. It is a bit strange that I can use the RMR font in other programs just fine, but using other fonts in EVE doesn't work.
30 minutes in help and I get a headache now. in Exodus I had no problems.

reason being is that they are two totally different font rendering technologies.

I really like the new one myself. It's cleaner and you can see decimals again. It doesn't scrunch together unfortunately like the previous one. XenTech |

try typing .1, it looks almost exactly the same as 1, just like 2. and 2 before. this is not an improvement. also they didn't do anything about 6/G/& or 8/B or 0/O/D or any of those.

Personally, I think the font is fine. But people could be given the option to choose a more readable (for them) font size, or even another font, if they so wish. Is that outwith the realms of possibility?

Here's a screenshot of a collection of the fonts used for (a) system name, (b) items and (c) ammo over the past year and a bit. I like the Cold War ones best, I think (that's the ones from November last year). I'm missing ammo & items from 2004, as I didn't screenshot them at the time.

Oh good, I'm really NOT mis-remembering they were better, they REALLY REALLY were.
I do wonder if CCP test on a selection of CRT's as well as LCD's, but the evidence seems to suggest they do NOT.
