Whores in Space got the same mail Devils got, and they sent the same response asking for an exception since RB would not have anything to do with their contracts and had behaved up to that point. Despite warnings Whores kept asserting they could handle it and there wouldnt be any problems. Well, there were problems.

What makes Devils different from Whores in Space in this context? Or from the other 3 occasions RB has been given a chance in some form or another only to abuse it? I saw and continue to see no reason it would be different THIS time with THIS alliance. So I did the responsible thing, learned from history, and held firm to a decision the mods made together which has time and time again been proven prudent.

To be clear, Devils as an alliance is not banned from the channel, they just are not listed.

@Adriel I'm not as personally familiar with Cannibal's case as Khromius and would probably defer to his judgement on the subject, which seems to be that it's fine.

As a third party with about as much interest in the merc world as in the mining industry ( no offense we all pay our subs and if you enjoy merc life grats and keep it up)

It seems to me there is a lot of anger and resentment over this issue and with detachment it seems as if to me the following points are worth mentioning...

1. Alex and his collegues own and run the channel, so at the end of the day they have the right to remove any entity they wish for whatever reason.

2. They really have no need to justify their decision (in fact in these situations it is often wise for mods not to discuss the issue publicly as the best you can hope for is to not make things worse).

3. There is no reason the kicked mercs cannot start there own rival channel and work to lure merc entities/clients away.

Ultimately let me sum up as a third party.

Alex etc. can do what they like with their channel, they obviously worked to make it efficient and as such deserve credit for that.
If you are banned pull your fingers out and do something constructive, start your own channel, war dec and systematically destroy noir. don't come crying in forums it demeans you.

Complaining in C&P should be reserved for people who got blown up.

I was with you until the crying on the foums part. This forum section is typically the domain aof pirates and mercs and seeing as that channel is the most well known and famour merc channel then it really is the concern of this section of the forums. People are not crying they are instead having a debate. Debate is good.

I understand your point but as a pirate with no affiliation or interest in merc issues a lot of the posting here reads like someone complaining they got their ship blown up...

I recognize it is an important issue to a merc alliance but feel mercs and pirates should not resort to words to resolve our disputes, we are better than that as a group surely?

This is like saying rebirth scammed 35 billion from the merc channel when it was actually just Uncle Bao.

If not for multiple source confirmation of knowledge and approval of Bao's shenanigans by RB directors, you'd have a point.

Their claim to fame is something that happened a long time ago that nobody remembers, Aleks being on the CSM and accomplishing nothing but pushing for a vote reform that resulted in our now completely erratic, pointless and stupid CSM voting mechanism, and generally pretending he invented the merc game.

If you're playing this game, and you live in Empire, chances are they just as inconsequential to you as they are to their targeted party via contract (if they still get them).

You mean the channel I co founded before your alliance existed? I've been using it for quite a while. Over the years I, PitBoss, and a few other hard working mods (nods to Khromius) have dealt with scammers, contract disputes, mercs rising/falling/fighting/allying, etc. I'd say I've got an idea of what's going on and what's been going on the past four or five years.

I think whenever somebody does something you don't like, you use Merc Contracts channel against them thinking it'll make a difference. Banning me or my corp mates, or anybody associated with me has done nothing to curb our ability to systematically beat down any merc listed in your channel.

Dec'ing Marmite for a few weeks until Tora pays you off hardly qualifies as the ability to systematically beat down any listed merc. At least when BAW/WEPOD were finished with Whores they were nothing but a rotting husk of their former selves, which is more than can be said about your "success" with Marmite.

I for one am looking forward to the day you decide to vainly attempt to systematically beat down BAW or WEPOD - we're going to have very green killboards when you do.
