Which ship would be best used for the Mining Gang Link Modules? Isn't it fair that miners/industrialists get another exclusive ship dedicated simply to gang mining, but with no mining ability itself? (think a Command Ship for mining) Its about time something like this appeared, mining is boring enough as it is. Thoughts? ____________________________________________ I make Custom Signatures. Astare should make an excellent mining command ship. Fit a crystal optimization link, 6 MDCM 2s, and you're set. Brutix could probably do it as well, heck the Astare might even be able to fit the setup with a mining upgrade, if you fit some CPU upgrades as well.

Mining mindlinks are really for mining ops, and really - most ops have some type of cover. This fits perfectly, especially if using a t2 fleet? with the ability to use multiple gang links at once natively. One for crystals, one for drones, yumm.

I would name that ship... Whip! DIG.....errr... minde dawgs. So does a mining command ship do...? I know miners like.... move stuff to the cans.... Haulers ...haul... The mining command ship will just activate the links and ? Ah.... there is something that will make mining...less boring? oh oh I know... the links shouldn't be set on auto-repeat and have totaly different cycles! Now there is a challenge

It doesn't have to mine. In an ice mining op you could just plop in the ice director mod in your 6th high slot and kill whatever threatens the belt. Perhaps the mining command ships are just meant to run the mining gang assist then use the rest of the slots for combat defence and offence to protect the mining bargeÆs. Saying that an Eos with its drone bay bonusÆs added with mining gang assist could be a nice miner. _________________________________________________Nominate famous people in Eve who had an impact on you.

I have a Hulk, and I would really like the ability to use the mining Gang Modules on the hulk itself. If I train for Mining Gang Modules, then I will never need to actually fly my Hulk and actually mine because I will be more useful flying a ship with the Gang Modules than flying a mining vessel - which isnt what I want to do. I have good mining skills so if I have specialised in this area how come I cant run Mining Gang Modules AND mine at the same time? Fighters can run Combat Gang Modules and FIGHT AT THE SAME TIME, so why cant miners get this ability too? I see this as rather unfair to the Carebears... ____________________________________________ I make Custom Signatures. Erm...yay!

I could have a hulk if I wanted to pay the price, but regardless of that I agree with keeping the modules to command ship / battle cruiser use only. If you want to barge it and have the bonuses you can still get the mining foreman? up to 10% gang boost yield. It isn't a mindlink but it's still a bonus while you can continue hulking away. Keep the command modules for the command ships.

Sort of on the subject, I would like to see a mining command ship of sorts that supports the Mining Gang modules. However as was said earlier, this ship would have no, or little actual mining capacity of its own. It would function as a mining party defense ship to protect the weaker mining vessels while granting the mining bonuses. I suppose a Battleship with plenty of low slots would fit the bill, however it would just be cool to have a specific ship to fit the role. Just my 2isk

"Fighters can run Combat Gang Modules and FIGHT AT THE SAME TIME, so why cant miners get this ability too?" I'm thinking none of you have actually had any experiance with gang assist modules? Only ships that can fit them are the Battlecruiser hulls and Capital ships. And If you fit 2 or 3 of these things on a battlecruiser you have significantly gimped both your offense and defense (3 hi slots used up along with 2 med slots) And don't get me started on the cap drain of 3 modules running at once... That said if anyone has the skill I'll buy it ! Leadership specialist here. I'll even help out some poor bleeding heart type miners if I got it.

The skills, Mining Foreman and Mining Director, are sold on the market in ORE. However I only see one of the Mining Foreman Links there, which is the Ice Harvesting. just cannot find the other 2.. :sigh: as a side note, ppl are selling the skills for just about 10x npc value which isnt bad considering you didnt have to travel 7 jumps in 00 and risk coming back empty handed. alpis

Since you need a ship of some sort to actually use the gang assist mod if you mine alone you now lose a miner just for this mod. Now which ship is best? I guess whatever ship has the most high slots for mining lasers tbh. Prolly a prophecy however I have not tested this yet due to lack of skill to use such mod.
